Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Sorry misread - so we need to be stamping on these anchors every now and then?
One thing I have noticed is the regen braking force in the S is less than that in the 3 and I have found I am using the brakes considerably more.
Collected our second Tesla, a MS LR, from Bristol on Tuesday.
All straight forward and simple, had a quick look over the car and none of the panel gap woes you read about on a regular basis. Also beats driving to Birmingham for collection!!!
We have FSD and to be honest never really use it apart from in conjunction with cruise on the motorway.
we have also just ordered a MS and haven’t bothered selecting FSD.
After 9 months of M3P ownership we have decided to get rid of our last gas guzzler (Landrover Discovery) and have ordered a MS LR.
As they had an inventory model to the same spec we wanted we have ordered one of those. We have the vin and have been told delivery should be within 14 days and...
We have Landrover Discovery at the moment so just wanted to get a general feel for the S boot size for comparison.
Just average length, width and height to parcel shelf would be great.

Hi - I have found lots of info regarding litres/cuft2 etc but struggling to find actual dimensions of the boot.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or happy to measure their boot.
Thanks in advance.
Not going to knock any new competition - the more manufacturers out there the better for all of us and the planet.
I personally am not a fan of the styling, looks a bit like a peugeot to me, but I am sure as many people who don't will.
Tesla wins big on its super charger network and until the...
Hi - I am considering a new model S but would like to occasional fit a roof rack.
doing a quick search it appears different racks for different roof types but the current configuration doesn’t give roof options?
is it possible to fit a roof rack to the latest model?
thanks in advance.
regards
I am sure the salary sacrifice side of things are sorted by your payroll department. It’s just a straight forward business lease between your company and the lease Company.
previous poster is correct on pension but as a counter most companies should give you their 13% NI saving which more than...
Considering a Model S and only tried Churchill so far based on recommendations here but they are asking for a tracker? Anyone else had this? I would have thought all the GPS etc fitted to the car would count as a tracker.
Nothing requested on our M3P with Direct Line.
Our average 0030 to 0430 last night was about £0.075 so higher than the agile but cheaper the rest of the day except 1630 - 1930 where it is significantly higher - this is where we use our battery storage so no issue. However the rest of the day its between £0.07 and £0.11.
We moved over to Octopus Agile today so thought I would try setting the advanced features on the app but it didnt function as I had imagined.
I set our peak and off peak times and tested it both Balanced and Cost saving mode.
At the time of testing we were in a peak period.
In both tests it...
I have only used the self powered option. I think using time based might be worthwhile in the winter if you have a cheap offpeak and can charge it overnight. I'm finding that in half decent sunshine our PW is usually 100% charged any time between 1300 and 1500.
We have a powerwall, 5kw PV and an ASHP.
Today we were 95% self sufficent on energy. It would have been 100% but we had a couple of spikes where we were drawing more than the 5kw the PW can discharge.
Ours was installed as part of a new build so signifcantly cheaper, no VAT, economies by being...
Actually I find the voice commands for nav excellent but for some reson it cant understand (well not very well) names.
Its so bad I use siri now to initiate phone calls.
I used the same charger twice yesterday. We were doing a round trip from Bristol to Dunkery Beacon and left home with about 70% charge. I don’t recall the exact KW but it was only charging at about 120mph. On the way home at only 10% battery it was back up to its normal 400+mph.
On charging we...
I quite like it. I agree it looks better without the front number plate but I imagine most cars would.
The chrome, especially on the black, doesn’t look that great.
Well the new display picks up traffice lights, road markings and bins. But rather dissapointingly it doesnt bring the bins in for you, even in full self drive mode....
Sat nav gives the option to navigate using autopilot - I havent tried it since install as only been on b roads and round town...
We considered the ipace as it didnt seem too much of a step change from our discovery. In the end we decided to keep the discovery and swapped my wifes mini for the M3.
One of the main reasons was the tesla charging infrastructure and the increased range of the M3 over the ipace.
I tend to give a little hand raise. Used to giving a wave nod from years riding motorbikes.
Mind you all the youngsters are more likeley to use some sort of antisocial media.......
Yep - I didnt realise this either until reading this thread.
I've just selected the options but havent driven the car since turning them on. I noticed on the navigation that there is a self drive to destination option.
I only had a breif look but didnt spot any non tesla charging stations on...
Very.
But on a serious note every manufacturer has problems. We had a £60,000 Landrover and the engine blew up less than a year old. I am sure you could find thousands of YouTube videos documenting problems with every manufacturer.
People with problems are likely to be more upset and...
We are having our smart meter installed next week and have applied for agile.
I think a lot depends on the set up of your house.
We have PV and a powerwall so will quite easily avoid the day time and peak tariffs. Yesterday we generated 20kw and a couple of days ago didn’t use and grid...
I bet you have Coronavirus as well.
And I wouldn’t buy any other car until all other manufacturers fix all their problems as well. I am pretty sure the terms Friday afternoon car and lemon car existed before Tesla ever existed.
On a serious note we had one for a month while our discovery was being repaired. It’s a faster, less practical discovery.
Also a lot less people let you pull out.
One of my colleagues went from a discovery to an S with no issues. We have a 3 and I only drive the Discovery when I have to.
