Yes, but Tesla was once at 10k, 30k, etc. Don't turn a blind eye just becasue 30k per year "is no real competition". It can certainly BECOME competition as we are seeing Tesla become.

And the Toyota's ultimate profit dollars end up in Japan. I'd prefer a component coming from there (the batteries) and the profit staying here in the US for Tesla.

I think it's ludacris to think they were trying to crash it on purpose. I suppose it's just click-bait for the article. On public roads... can you imagine if they succeeded?? Injury to driver, private property, other people/drivers. NOT happening.
