I gave them a worst rating saying that their communication channel sucks hoping someone will respond back for what's wrong, but the irony is that non one even cared to respond and i am now getting multiple emails asking them to rate again

Does anyone know how to contact Tesla parts online orders department. I have ordered an adapter which didn’t work, I sent them email after email saying I need to return but don’t have a reply yet. I don’t want to go through the route of disputing through credit card.

If it’s adapter problem , it makes more sense to buy $35 adapter than rewiring for 14-50 right.

My adapter was brand new and I just opened the seal. I’m hoping something wrong inside the adapter. I will get replacement on Tuesday. Will update you guys. Thanks for all your inputs

I was getting 5 flashes which indicates reduced power. It’s the same alert on the car screen too.

Voltage with load i.e. car in charging mode is fluctuating between 239/238.

Not sure how to check the voltage during load, but I hooked the Tesla mobile connector to outlet and then checked the reading on outlet , it’s 242 just like at breaker.

I just tested for any voltage drop in circuit. Reading shows 243 at breaker and 246 in outlet. So definitely there’s no drop. Im guessing it’s faulty 6-50 adapter that Tesla sent me.

For 14-50 receptacle you need 4 prong, for 6-50 it’s 3 prong.

Mine is exact same setup with 8 gauge wire. but the receptacle is 6-50 because my earlier EVSE Chargepoint required 6-50. I’m guessing it’s problem with 6-50 adapter. Mobile Connector works fine with 110v outlet and draws about 12Amp.

It has only 3 wires , 1 ground and 2 power. That same port works fine with chargepoint and gives me 32Amp

Amazon was kind enough to accept a late return. They said there might be a restocking fee, I can probably escalate and get it waived. So $635 after tax saved. I just ordered a 6-50 Adapter, so going with easiest road. I generally charge overnight, so I’m ok with 30 miles/hr charge.

I wasn’t aware that Tesla comes up with MC to use on a 14-50 outlet. Bad research on my part. I was in a hurry and bought that charger point unit for $600. Probably a bad idea now that i come to think of it.

At the end of day $$ for charging 200 miles is the same right if it uses 32A or 48A. Only diff is time taken to charge
