Electrified garage replaced my MCU and upgraded my memory for $2,500 last year. Right after Tesla said they will fix under warranty. Sucksss.

We have no idea when the upgrade is coming for 2013 MCU1s. My Tesla MCU1 order has been on backorder with Tesla since June. My touchscreen is degrading by the day. Im at the point of solving the problem before the MCU just dies.

The electrified garage in NH is going to install a 16GB chip which is 10x faster for 2k to cure my MCU1 issues.

Get a second opinion. My car was pulling to the left from the rear after a body shop repair. Service center #1 prematurely labels the body shop repairs as the culprit. Service center #2 replaces the motor and the issue vanishes.

I'll provide more detail. All the stalls were full and each only outputted between 30-50kwh max. All people arrived with low charge. I've been going to this station since my purchase in 2013. This station is in need of repair.

A custom car upgrade shop or body shop can take care of it. Replacing the headlight requires taking the bumper off so I left it to the professionals.

The parking sensors can be done via Tesla or an outside source and unplugged performance sells the new front fascia for our cars.

This is why I still have my Dec 2012 build 6 years later. Most of the features you liked can be retrofitted. Not worth the money.

My issue is Tesla wont replace the battery even if you volunteer to pay for the replacement. Tesla basically locks you in. As cars get older Tesla should have options as the bottom and top range becomes unusable.

I agree. Even a budget cell would be reason enough to pass it on to your most loyal customers. I have my original model S I bought in Jan. '13 and I still haven't seen a good even reason to get a new one. Guess my money will have to just keep making money.

2170 cells are advantageous or Tesla would not have wasted time in design, production and implementation. We are making arguments that its ok that tesla gives us older cells in the car we pay the most for. Tesla wants our best in turns of money i think its reasonable to get the most up to date...

This purely looks at density. Model 3s batteries handling track mode for example is beyond what 18650 cells can handle. 2170 is overall better for the money. The owners spending the most should have access to this.

I had this retrofit done on my 2013. Problem is you need to find a “friendly” service center. Its well known that some service centers will say yes and some will say no.

I'm not spending another penny on a model S knowing the model 3 has a better pack in the 2170.

How many miles were on the s60 loaner?

My Jan 2013 s60 is at 173 @ 90% and 193ish @100% with 101k miles. Tesla is going to have to allow for battery replacements/upgrades at some point as our top and bottom of the pack degrades.

My situation was similar. I had to press the fob button multiple times and hold the charge port door down tight for it to open. I had an alignment issue. I paid a tesla certified body shop guy to shave down the charge port door to compensate for the misalignment. Works great now.

Right around 101k miles. Still pulls like day 1. Car is running like clockwork.

At the right price you can make anything work.

The early cutoff is an issue brought up before. A warning 10 miles before a cutoff would be nice. Tesla should investigate.
