    AP/FSD sale ends March 18th

Okay just have to say I though NoA was going to be a gimmick, but it is pretty impressive. Very different experience from plain AP. We drove home within the city taking 3 challenging transitions from hwy to hwy and it did it all without intervention (except lane change confirmation which were...

    AP/FSD sale ends March 18th

Thanks, I fully intend for this to be my daughter first car in 15 or so years. Should be interesting, hopefully by then Tesla Model 0 will be out and it will be under $35k for a 1500km range. Note: Just got the FSD features updated to the car this afternoon (bought Thursday night after the...

    AP/FSD sale ends March 18th

True true. This purchase though just made this car an over $80k purchase if you include the charging infrastructure, winter tire package, etc... not a small chunk of change (I cringe every time I think it could have been a down payment for my daughter’s first place, or pay for her uni + living...

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

Odd. I would have thought the pin would not be engaged as “left over” code from the cold weather firmware changes (maybe it disengages after charging is complete to prevent frezing, but needs to stay unlockablecwhile charging for some reason to enable this?). Unfortunately I don’t see many...

    AP/FSD sale ends March 18th

Bought AP as soon it was available for discount, then folded on Thursday night on FSD. Bye bye $4k + tax. Still no FSD features updated to the car yet :(. Crossing fingers for HW3 + plan on keeping the car for a long long time (10+ years).

If I purchase AP thru website, how long will it take to become operational

Thanks, keep us posted if you do get anything from them! It's not terribly urgent for us, but we'd like to update work with our insurer to update our coverage.

If I purchase AP thru website, how long will it take to become operational

Aside, does anyone that bought the new discounted AP or AP+FSD (not EAP) have this show up in their Vehicle Details? I have neither, would be nice if we ever needed Proof of Purchase or to ensure we’re taged for HW3 if it ever rolls out.

    2019.5.15 Update with Grey X?

I had the same issue, and was using a 4GB stick. Realized it needs now 5.6GB for the full hour of recording (3 cameras), so bought a 32GB stick (cheap one). No issues since.

If I purchase AP thru website, how long will it take to become operational

A little bummed too, but in the end for the price, I guess I can't complain, also we don't do much lane changing believe it or not (slow & steady gets us there alive), and this may help one focus on the road a bit more than trusting Tesla blindspot detection.

Got mine too, no FSD version. No "Auto Lane Change" as far as I can tell... :(.. ah well. Still worth it!

Chinook Mall removing Tesla Wall Chargers?

They say that they are in talks to put Flo (national CF partner) as a replacement... we’ll see how quickly and pricing....hopefully many stalls and free but one can only dream  .

    Model 3 slow Supercharging

Snowflake. Dots/limited regen seem to be a little easier to decrease with driving.

    Model 3 slow Supercharging

Will post results as well when we do a winter trip. I’ve also seen with mine that the only way to unfreeze the battery is to charge indoors. No amount of driving seems to help.

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

Okay so, if your priority is saving money, the best thing you could probably do is just keep your current car. Say instead of buying a Toyota or anything else, you put the money into a high interest savings account (one of the worst returns, but gets you 3%). You would be making $900/year and...

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

It’s about $1 higher than the average last year ($2.10/GJ) at the regulated rate, but we use much less NG than electricity. Given the lower admin fees as well, I’ve modelled @700kWh/month to produce about $250+ in savings per year even with the gas price increase, assuming “market” electricity...

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

Fully agree with the battery capacity, note that you will lose a bit as the car sits out in cold weather without being charged unlike an ICE so expect a some vampire drain + part of the battery locked out to protect itself. That said with Winters this is the best handing car I’ve owned and...

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

94V Edit: I see now in the parts catalogue that they have 98V as well as 94V for the R18. A while ago when I got mine they only had N0 94V up. They must have sourced and additional type in the last month.

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

Yes, I used to live near the “centre of the universe”, but have for the last 10 years been in Alberta :p . Woke up this morning hand checked the temp before leaving -12 :( Luckily Calgary is forecast to see a high of +5 this weekend!

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

Just to provide a balanced perspective for those making future purchasing decisions (example RWD vs AWD) purely off of this thread, I want to reiterate that there are RWD cars that are doing fine with winter tires on. We’ve been experiencing up to -12C with light snow/ice and still have...

And those are also what you will not get (pictured). You will get the standard Aero wheel covers that come standard with the 18inch wheels (which, I love :)). Saved the new set and they just put on the old ones.

Congrats to all the new Model 3 owners, I feel like we're starting to reach the tipping point here in Calgary. Starting to spot a lot of them now, my record is 3 in one day (1 red, 1 blue, 1 white)!

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

Tires typically have nothing to do with the Regen limitation. The limitation only comes into play due to current pack charge level or temperature. I can confirm that there is no difference in regen limitation between winter or summer tires. Some notes so far (no snow, just dry warm (17C) /...

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

Ours are in and installation appointment is scheduled for this week! Wonder if these will be the 240s as I read the 270s have the dual rubber compound layers. Also, if Tesla has done anything specific like the strengthening in the OEM summers.

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

Let me put you mind at ease slightly. Winter came early here in Calgary and last week we had lots of snow, currently black ice. My experience with the RWD in ice/snow with stock aero tires: Much more stable than expected. Far less of the rear sliding around than with lighter rwd cars (feels...

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

Whaaat? That is incredible... sounds like it’s worth a call to the SC for a follow up. Although, if it’s still warm then waiting may not be a bad strategy.
  30. M

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

The package price includes building the wheel & tire as well as swap/installation. A decent deal in my opinion for the 240 sottozeros + a second set of aeros + tpms + labour. Especially if you consider the US package is priced about $200 CAD higher. Will run down these tires the consider a...

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

Yeah, immediately charging your card before the product ships is not the best customer experience, but I guess cash flow is king. SC says they’re just waiting on tires (they can pull up tire orders apparently in the system). Fingers crossed!

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

Hi Folks, Just wondering if anyone has actually order & received their packages from a service centre recently? Is it usually radio silence if there's an issue? I ordered online a month ago and no news yet... read online that they can be on backorder for months which is making me very very...

    Accent Headlight

Sorry for the delay, ended up getting it swapped a week ago for a new revision (paperless service so no replacement number). They also mentioned a software update (assuming 32+), but let’s see if it holds. Thanks everyone for the info!

    Accent Headlight

So an update on this issue. I had the original driver’s side signature light completely dead, but the replaced with one that was “dimmer”. They replaced it with a third one that also was showing “dimmer”, so decided to escalate to engineering. After doing more tests they found that the signal...

Ontario EV Rebates Cancelled July 11, 2018

Sorry for the long post... I'm a huge believer in financial fitness. Too many times I see people getting trapped in the hedonistic treadmill to keep up with what society deems as success. Sharing a bit of my purchase thought-process if it helps: Originally family of 2, with a wife that wanted...

Ontario EV Rebates Cancelled July 11, 2018

Yes, would not go back to ICE and even looking at “luxury” cars nothing for the $ comes close (why buy a Motorola RAZR when you can get an iPhone 3GS for the same money?). However, like any purchase, only buy what you can afford. If you weren’t looking at a well equipped 3 series or equivalent...

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

Actually, "walking by" the driver-side might have helped (I'm usually putting our little one in the car seat so go to the opposite rear door first often)! But it could be a placebo or even the 24.1 update :). A few ownership updates: - Didn't know that the card would work through my wallet...

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

It’s interesting that the carbon tax is being used to fund the regulated rate cap (6.8c/kWh) on electricity. I wonder if people realize that this basically subsidizes EV drivers :D. Maybe they should be more overt about this to show they are funding the EV shift. Also we don't pay the $0.13/l...

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

I think it's a testament to the "normalcy" that Teslas are approaching. Build quality has been fairly good, no major issues. Range is more than we'll probably ever need (at least its summer now so less of an issue). Some occasional quirks I've run into but nothing that couldn't be solved by...

So close! Arggg. Thanks for scouting. I was thinking that late June delivery should give the SC time to do a nice and thorough QC check. This is what’s keeping me sane now:) .

    Alberta Deliveries Waiting Room

No word yet, but only a few more weeks left (hopefully). I have to remember next time to ask my DS how many they expect to deliver here. I assume that there will only be a handful given no EV rebates and AWD deferrals... anyone care to guess?

Sorry for cross posting from the VIN Assignment thread, but if you use the “shopping cart” method you may already have a VIN.
