Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I’m not as concerned about the batteries being the old physical dimensions but yeah agree on the pack size. If true, they will definitely release a 100 again in a few months or a year and early adopters will be unhappy again.
I think the 3 also had the skateboard pictured with air suspension at some point. Not sure we can go based on the renderings.
Didn’t musk say he was going to do a conference on the changes last week?
Not sure they have the correct parameters in the app. I’ve done it easily stopping just once. Wouldn’t have made it on a single charge nor would I want to drive all the way nonstop though.
Not sure what language will be in the final bill but they didn’t limit to that last time (though they should have, maybe even 70k) and you can configure S and X below 100k
Yeah we really don’t know much about it and how it will compare in specs and price to the X when actually launched. Maybe 6k extra for 35” tires. So much unknown.
Honestly, I think they raised the S and X in anticipation of buyers getting a 7,500 tax credit again but that’s the cynic in me. But yeah, I anticipate them raising the price of the cybertruck or at least making the pre-order packages unappealing enough to make you want to pay extra for...
Yeah, my biggest concern is I have no idea how they can hit that kind of price tag on the tri-motor cybertruck while the X tri motor is about double the price. What else is cut out to make up such a huge $ difference. The FWD, paint, and dash can’t make that up. I know the new batteries will...
Yeah, that’s how I am taking tri-zone as well. Not sure if it’s just my X but was a common complaint about stuffiness that I don’t get from anyone in either of my 3’s. I have one one order so time will tell and we shall see. Hopefully improved.
From the looks of the site images with the trunk opened, it looks like they removed the side ac vents on the second row. You can see the FWD bottoms but that’s it. Anyone know anything about that or know if it’s just moved. One complaint about my 17 X was the second and third row could get...
They dented the trunk lid edge pretty badly on my X a week after I got it and I didn't notice till the next day. They never accepted fault though. Every other time I always have the dirty finger/boot marks somewhere. Improvements needed for sure.
I've seen conflicting comments on the Y back seat. Is it wider than the 3? Some say "less hi-room". Does anyone have measurements of interior door to door width at the narrowest point?
Are they installing the front plate on all new deliveries now? From pics I have seen it appears so. If so, anyone know if they are screwed on or taped?
I've done it several times on both my X and 3 with no issue. Oldest plug is about 2 years on the X but have done it on other cars that have had the tires much longer, though no foam. As mentioned above, I think the biggest thing is to know when it is safe to do it, i.e. not driven on the...
Yeah, I don’t get everyone’s hesitation to plug a tire. I’ve been doing it on all my tires for years and years and never had an issue. The plug has always outlived the tire.
So, I’ve never heard of these till the Tesla community started talking about them. When you guys go for tire work or whatever you just tell them to use them? Do you watch to make sure? Are they compatible with all jack stands? I can imagine asking for them to be used and the mechanics just...
I’d assume they would! Good luck!
Hopefully they’re expanding the program! But yeah probably got lucky, u should go buy a lotto ticket. I have an X, a P3, Tesla solar, powerwall 2 and also 30-40k miles per year typically so maybe I’ll get in one day too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyone know how to get the driver door to open or reset? It has completely failed in the closed position and nothing I do will open it. However, the system shows it as open on the screen. Tried steering wheel resets and power off but no help. Is there a safety latch somewhere that can force it...
As it turns out the driver door on my X has completely failed, it can’t open at all but the system thinks it’s open. So maybe it’s a good thing for me the update is so underwhelming, I won’t have envy while it’s in service. Maybe 9.5 will be out by the time I get it back and we will have EAP. ;)
Probably because we have been getting promised this for, literally, years now AND being told it would be in v9. So when it was leaked and shown in v9 we thought we would finally get it. Instead, all we end up with is a blue, gray, or red line graphic on our screen and a few new icons but zero...
I can’t imagine tinting causing it to crack, maybe the installer. Picked mine up this past weekend and was quoted 950 today for crystalline for the sides and rear. Thought that was pretty expensive since I got crystalline on the sides of my X for 400. That’s 550 to do the rear window in one piece.
If you got EAP make sure the license is active before leaving delivery. Mine wasn’t and now I have a hastle to go through. Each call is at least an hour on hold and will take at least 3 business days.
just picked up a P3D today drove several hours and a few hundred miles but AP won’t enable. Phone support said it’ll take them a few days to look at it. I have an X so know how it works so it’s not that. Was wondering if anyone else encountered that and has a workaround to get it going?
