A ChargeFox station has just been installed (although not in service yet) in the car park of the Kurrawa Surf Club in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. I saw them painting the two car spots green the other day.
The carpark is always full so a win for EV drivers looking for a spot, a charge and a surf.
Apologies if this has been discussed but a search of the Oz forum only brought up a thread from 2018 through to early 2019.
I'm going on a road trip up North this year and was wondering whether you can get an upgrade of 3G to LTE for older Model Xs. Mine was purchased in June 2016.
I remember...
I've noticed that this update has a more sensitive forward collision warning. I'm getting the alert more frequently and my driving habits haven't changed as far as I'm aware.
Is AP2 supposed to "read" speed limit signs? I've just done the Great Ocean Road and there have been a lot of changed/reduced speed limits in the area eg: 60 to 50 or 100 to 80 etc but the car did not notice and displayed the old limits.
Confirmed today that The Great Ocean Brewhouse destination charger is only 10 Amps. I didn't need the charge but we were eating lunch there anyway so I plugged in.
We did the Lorne to Twelve Apostles and back today and made it easy in an X90D.
After inputting the navigation I was a little worried because it wanted to take the Great Ocean Road and every other navigation app wanted me to go through Colac.
I decided to go the scenic route that the Tesla...
That's why I brought up this topic. On my commute to work I stop at the same light everyday and the autopilot always stops in front of a side street that most people usually keep clear out of courtesy to someone who may come from there to enter the traffic. Obviously if it had a keep clear the...
I got notification at 7:30am.
I've only driven a little so I can't vouch for any improvements or lack thereof.
I did have to slam on the brakes this morning as my car was coming in hot on stopped traffic and if the car was going to brake it would have been last second.
I've noticed that TACC...
Thanks for the information.
If anything I'll only need to use it for a little bit of juice. I have a destination charger where I am staying so I should wake each day with a charged car.
I'm going late September.
Thanks for your advice.
Part of my range anxiety stems from not understanding the whole rated/actual thing.
I'm still a relative novice. I naively thought a range of 480km plus would give you at least 400 km to play with. Turns out it's a lot less than that.
I'm not...
My round trip from Lorne to the 12 Apostles is about 260kms. I just get a little antsy with so few options in the area. With the exception of what the car came with I don't have any other adapters.
I think I'll stop in Apollo Bay at the Brewhouse for a bite to eat on the way back to Lorne to...
I'm going to be staying in Lorne for 4 days in September. Looks like we'll be staying at the Cumberland which has 2 destination chargers. Any day trip tips for the great ocean road? How far can I venture to have enough juice for a return trip in an MX 90D?
Google maps tells me that the Lorne...
How is autonomous driving going to handle being a good bloke on the road (courteous driving)? For example I imagine that when full blown autonomous driving comes into effect the cars will stop before keep clear markings on the road if there is traffic banked up on the other side of it.
However...
I only had a short commute today on B Roads and it was a hell of a lot smoother. Stayed in the middle, slowed down and stopped smoothly approaching stopped cars at lights and it even slowed smoothly and not abruptly when a car came out of a side street suddenly*.
* I say suddenly but it came...
I've noticed that it is fine on some roads and absolutely horrific on others.
In addition sometimes it slowdowns nice and steady as it's coming up on cars already stopped at the lights and other times it comes in very hot. No rhyme or reason to it either. Same goes for acceleration. Some times...
Last night was even worse than during the day. I had quite a few phantom sudden slow downs as if there was a car directly in front when there was only traffic coming in the opposite direction. At times the car was tightly hugging the right hand side of the lane (RHD Car) and sometimes would...
In the update prior to this new update the TACC breaking was the smoothest I had experienced since getting the car. Today I was almost on top of the stopped car before it broke hard.
I'm new to the world of Tesla and didn't realise that the software needed to be "broken in".
I went for a drive at lunchtime and I thought that at times it handled staying in the lane much better and then towards the end of my drive it was all over the shop. I thought acceleration and breaking was back to super quick and sudden. I felt this had improved in the last update. For me this...
I haven't driven it yet because I waited until I got to work to install the update but I will let you know if the "silky smooth" is really silky smooth as I have a few roads where the autosteer is all over the place.
I'll update you all over the weekend.
I won't start a new thread just for this next question but is there a way to remotely open my garage door to let my friend in? :p
Also where can I buy a trusted friend?
Is there any reliable way to know the status of a supercharger at least when beginning your journey? Are Tesla able to know whether a charger is working remotely? It would be nice if they were able to relay this information in real time.
The very Australian problem of roos and driverless cars
Apparently kangaroos are going to pose a problem with the way the car detects them in mid flight.
I must say on a recent trip to took from Melbourne to Canberra and back I saw many kangaroo carcasses on the side of the road and was very...
I went to Chadstone Shopping Centre the other day and they have 4 Tesla spots with destination chargers. All four spots were taken by Teslas and none of them were charging. They were using them for the convenience of a close spot and not as a charger. GRRRRR.
