Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
This is not entirely true. For example my door scratched the mirror of another car. The car was far enough to allow the door to open but not the mirror. Imagine similar situations.
In my experience the vents in the B pillar blow cold air while the front ones blow warm air. My daughter was crying because it was too cold while I was warm. On almost max heat the mid vents were blowing almost cold air. Tesla service said it's normal. I don't have the car anymore. Please test...
When you test drive a Tesla with AP you are told you can take your hands off the wheel, and in some cases encouraged to do so, then later after you buy the car, pay for AP, you are supposed to always keep your hand on the wheel because that's what it says in the manual?
This was my experience...
Yes, car slowing down for no reason, in my case it went from 80 to 50mph when approaching those "scanning" poles just before a weight station, also when approaching overpasses. I never thought it's the shadow that scares the TACC, but the actual structure over the road.
Car was delivered to my place. SC was too far away and we tried to say something but the drivers said it's not their job and we should talk to the SC. Some issues were fixed others not. After a month things started to fail, and so on.
But this is not the problem. The issue is that some users...
But you acknowledge how many people reported them(including me). I've read about the ghosting issues before I bought the car and I still bought it and I got unlucky. I got unlucky with AP2, FWD issues, lots of misalignments etc.
By that logic I shouldn't have bought it, or I should have bought...
@Alex D - While I agree with some points above, your reasoning doesn't apply to everything Tesla did wrong.
"With all this info given"
Why would I buy a car that could potentially have ghosting?
Why would I buy a car that could potentially come with misalignments?
Why would I buy a car with no...
Why didn't they allowed drivers to disable it and downgrade to a regular CC? How hard is it to add a button to disable TACC, similar to how AS2 works? Or disable TACC when AS is disabled.
Current TACC should not have been forced on us without the additional layer of GPS data.
The growl of an engine should be reserved for race tracks/highways not for residential areas. Too many times my daughter woke up from her nap when some car enthusiasts enjoyed the sound of their engine in a 35mph zone. Same goes for motorcycles.
Engine noise is just another type of pollution...
Solves a problem but creates others like:
- you might have to modify your garage
- doors don't always open because sensors detect things that shouldn't
Also, let's talk about AP2/FSD when available and out of beta.
If you ignore 1s for 0-60 and some AP2 thingies, Subaru Legacy 3.6R(fully loaded, TACC etc) might qualify and will be equal or cheaper than the base M3.
Depends on what you need I guess, if OTA updates or electric engine is a must for you, M3 all the way.
Sorry if I missed any requirements :)
I believe the car(something) detects if it is inside and it won't open fully unless you override. From what I have seen FWD won't fully open even in medium size hangars. Maybe something changed since my last tests.
When a bad car seat is installed we are not talking about engineering.
When some windshields are warped, or have different levels of ghosting but they still get installed we are not talking about engineering.
When paint is not perfect we are not talking about engineering.
When a FWD sticks...
You left out quite a lot of imperfections/issues that can't be easily fixed: ghosting, car seats, sensors/software, heating, misaligned body panels etc
If my car had only the ones mentioned by you I would be so happy.
@stopcrazypp I was talking about overpasses, metal structures, radars, cameras on major highways where legal speeds exceed 60mph and using TACC. I was only replying to your comment that Tesla does extensive testing. It doesn't look like they did.
And on top of that there was no way to disable...
If true most False Collision Warnings on most major highways would have been whitelisted before AP2 was released. I had to many to feel safe using the TACC.
Try Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology [2] • Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert[6]
For less than 30.000 depending on the model
It does stop and go and it has a regular cruise control available.
Isn't this one of reasons we went with Tesla, to avoid dealing with (bad) dealerships. Since when Tesla is becoming worse than most dealerships? I remember reading lots of positive posts and articles about the whole Tesla experience. I saw almost none of that.
I have an X(financed not leased) and the loaner is an older P. I bought an X not a P
No AP1, just regular CC, I have AP2
Can't use the heating, something is burning and feels like the I can't breathe after a few minutes, have to open the windows
Lower Range
Sorry Snowstorm, but driving a loaner 4x longer than my actual car will not make me reasonable. I am glad you can, but not everyone has the time to deal with this and not at this price point.
It's not that easy to dump the car. You can barely get in touch with them and you can't apply for the lemon law before 30 business days in service. It took me one month to schedule an appointment and the car is still in service, almost 2 months now.
At this point I drove the loaner twice as...
I have to disagree with you based on my personal experience. When you are trying to overtake a slower longer vehicle, your instinct is to accelerate not go at a constant speed and you will be unpleasantly surprised that your loaner is not going faster.
You are only driving the loaner for a few...
I have to question Tesla's decision to limit to 80mph. 90mph would have been better and safer for loaners.
I got into a similar experience today. I was passing a truck and missjudged how far the exit was.
The separation only starts to be visible when the distance is longer than what they use to test(reported 5.9m). So the intensity doesn't come in to play in their tests unless they increase the test distance.
Sometimes if my key is my pocket and the phone is on top of it the doors won't open(MS HW1) or I would get the same message while in the driver's seat.
I am worried about the way TACC works. Imagine this
- intersection with a pole that triggers the Front Collision Warning and slows down the car
- someone whitelists that location
- another car a few months later, behind a bus that is stopping just under the pole
- no FCW and you barely manage to...
A very common problem that requires us to call Tesla and report where and when it happened so they can whitelist that location.
Edit: It usually happens you pass under a structure like a bridge, pole etc.
Pls tell me how are they fixing the ghosting issues on both X and S. If they do give a damn why not this issue?
And why are we told that the windshields are within specs when clearly they are not, as many of us tested multiple models and the ghosting varied.
The issues I had on all my cars, ever, is 50 times lower than the October built MX I have, and I am not talking about Toyotas and Hondas. I guess the company I value(d) the most was the biggest disappointment. I still have hope considering that so many of you had a better experience but I am not...
