Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Actually, there are restrooms (they are extremely small); but you are right no Eat-in option.
And no option to buy just a slice. I stopped in a few weeks ago, late afternoon, after having heard about it in this discussion. I didn't want to spoil dinner so was hoping to get just a slice, but...
Last time I had service, I picked it up at about 7pm and drove off and realized the tank was at 90miles - they had not charged it! I would have plugged in 10mins but all superchargers were full. Could have stoped at Mansfield but wanted to get home. My problem is I'm in RI and had a good 40...
Few weeks ago had a MX passenger door latch failure that I tried calling for appt and never got through. Went on line and made an appt for about a week later, that was the earliest available. My wife got a confirmation email from them, and decided to email back, and they answered, and got us...
When we considered dual option the example we were given is a medical personnel on call, who may come home and want to have the vehicle rapidly charged for an overnight emergency call. They talked us out of it and I would say only one or two occasions it would have made a difference was the...
We noticed that, too, on our trip south about a week ago: no I95 N or S on the NAV. Since we were pulling in anyway for a quick stop, checked them and found the 2 stalls empty. Plugged in with the car at 105 RM and got rates of 308 to 252 miles/hr; very happy to get back up to 80%.
We just...
I just drove to FL from CT a week ago. Newark DE was my first charge, then Lewes (you can skip that), Salisbury, Norfolk, Plymouth...
Is that they way you go - down the peninsula? It was a nice drive.
Traveling south we will stay on 95 for a stay-over in DC (with a destination charger)...
Thanks, that is a good idea, I think I will also see what Waze gives for routes at that hour this week also, just to see.
Thanks for the suggestion. We have done this pre-July 4 trip for the last 17 years on our way to Outer Banks of NC, usually leaving Saturday but also a number of years...
Planning a trip to DC next week and this would be likely first stop from RI. Are these back to being more reliable? unfortunately hitting them in the 8am hour, do they typically have a wait to use them during rush hours? any info much appreciated!
Tesla actually reached out to Okemo and offered to put in the chargers. I was not aware that Tesla will give the both the Tesla charger and the Clipper Creek units too. Good deal for the resort.
Route 2 is our alternative from RI to southern VT for skiing and we are looking forward to this opening this fall. We would definitely use this as an alternative to the route via Mass Pike and a stop at the Springfield Supercharger. Anyone have any update for this site?
Glad I came across this thread. I have a MS 75D, 160xxx VIN, and happen to have service appt for new tires and annual service (already at 28K) as it happens. I think I will call Monday to see if they can uncork it during that visit.
Thanks for the info. On our last trip up this way we went further north past Augusta and did stop at the Supercharger there, plus took advantage of the Bowdoin and Colby L2 offerings while we were on campus tours, so we were easily set for our trip back. But this time I didn't plan a backup for...
We are in the area (Brunswick now for couple of days) and look forward to checking out this future site tomorrow. We could make it from RI with a stop at the Seabrook Supercharger, but look forward to having the Freeport site to charge up for getting around while we are here.
But until then...
That's a great story, Tesla's technology makes it easy to pull off some smooth moves like that. I have used Summon often at work, as the EV spots are squeezed into the corner of the basement of the garage and I have to back in right up along the wall. It's no problem in the morning pulling in...
I work at a hospital in Massachusetts that has two ChargePoint stations in the bottom floor of the employee parking garage. The use of these is free as an effort to encourage the use of electric vehicles. Along the same lines, the hospital also pays for employees mass transit MBTA (subway)...
We have made our first longer range trips, RI to VT for skiing in two round trips in cold weather, and found EVtripplanner to be helpful and accurate both times. We used speed correction of 1.0 but drove speed limit to 10mph above. What were your driving speeds that you felt 1.2 was...
Agreed. We did a show in the parking garage and a couple more out and about. Everyone one loved it. Very limber wings. Likely to be back at it again tomorrow.
Going to get ours installed (garage plug) in a few weeks. Like how you have it clearly labeled! Waiting for a MX 90D, from inventory out of Cali, being shipped, near the end of September.
