Obrigado Fil.

Small update on Tesla operations here in Portugal, as far as I could understand from the short conversation with a Sales Representative last Saturday. - They have a huge backlog of test drives. Around 3000. - No news on the Store location, besides with will be downtown Lisbon and with a Service...

As far as I can tell, it's not there anymore. It's here: Google Maps At least it's from there I'll be test driving a Model X next Saturday. :) Let's see if I can get the sales rep to talk about future plans in our country.

There you go. As far as I can tell, it looks like the headquarters for EVpower (http://www.evpower.pt/). Maybe Tesla are using them as a temporary office until they have their store and service center. Maybe it's where they are conducting the interviews to fill those needed spaces. As far as I...

That is interesting. That is not a good place for a Tesla Store considering the high-end profile they seem to prefer. I would expect a store in a much more high profile street, closer to Lisbon downtown. But if it's for a Service Center, then it makes sense. Very close to the airport, great...

I'm aware of this. But that service center is a Zeev project (multi brand dealership that imports Tesla). Not a Tesla one. We still don't know where it will be located. Nor the store. Grande abraço para esse lado do Atlântico!

Mike Flewitt - Mclaren Automotive CEO on hybrids, full EV's and Autonomous vehicles

This is an interesting interview conducted by evo to the CEO of one of the major sports car brand in the world. Surely one of the most important today - Mclaren Automotive. Let me say I'm very sorry for the quality of the photos, but I think the important can be read. I highly recommend the...

some examples of where level 5 autonomy might have difficulty

My guess there will be situations when a level-4 autonomous car will raise his hands and say it clearly to the driver "I can't handle this". But every year that passes those situations will be a lot less recurrent because the system learns from the driver what it should do, and everybody around...

The ethics and business implication of an 8k $ Autopilot

This wins for me. When you compare a passive safety feature with one active safety feature, that seals the rest of thread. And, as one user stated, the airbags were not always a free option. Nor the ABS. Or the ESP. Or... it goes on and on.

Oh. My. God. I wasn't expecting this. Actually I was but it's mind blowing nonetheless! And now Tesla just put a huge billboard to every other car maker (and some wannabes like Apple and Google) saying "Ready when you're ready.". I guess someone at Apple or Google is using a spreadsheet to...

Don't know if this was discussed here but... GM will produce over 30,000 Chevy Bolt EVs in 2017, says battery supplier LG Chem Where's the bottleneck? Why so few? Can't produce batteries fast enough? Artificially cap so it won't cannibalize ICE vehicles sales? What gives? GM clearly is big...

Ultra E - Ultra fast 350 Kw charging Stations - Europe

I think we're missing the main point. IMO the relevance in this is that a bunch of car brands decided to join and create a network of chargers. Yes, it's true none have any EV that can charge at that rate. But they are willing to go the extra mile and future proof this network. They are not...

2 perfect CPOs which one do you pick?

Well.. 20K miles is hardly a lot. It only seems high mileage if you compare with the 4K one. And for me, the 85 would be the sweet spot. It would allow me to travel almost 100% of my annual drives without stopping.

Maybe when all things are under the same roof (pun intended), the prices will drop. Solarcity don't build solar panels. They merely sell and install. That being said, it doesn't mean that Tesla-Panasonic don't need them. They have the expertise and infrastructure. And the article clearly states that the Tesla-Panasonic solar panel build is contingent on Tesla-Solarcity merge.

Boas @gmorales! Thanks for your opinion. Regarding zeev and my interactions with them, I think they are a little "old-school" on their approach to selling cars (very dealer like kinda of business). It's the status quo, and until Tesla officially arrives, there are no incentives to change...

    Will you share your Tesla?

Ask Avis or Hertz how they deal with that. Anyway... the clients will be accountable for any stuff they do to the car. At least be "flagged" as a trouble client and they won't be able to rent another car in the future.

Germany to ban fossil fuel vehicles (gasoline and diesel) by 2030

The problem I see in Porsche is not on their Panamera/Macan/Cayenne replacements. I think they will be better cars as an electric version. But their sports cars, especially the 911... I don't see it. I just don't. Off-topic: nice boat you have. What is that? I regularly dinghy sail (mainly...

Germany to ban fossil fuel vehicles (gasoline and diesel) by 2030

Getting on-topic, if (and that's a big IF) this law is approved, is it possible for the brands to have some quota for ICE vehicles? I don't see Porsche getting all aboard the EV train. Doesn't make sense, imo.

    Short-Term TSLA Price Movements - 2016

Supercharging to be uncoupled for new owners - lowering price of S/X

Well put. That's why I admire (with massive envy) those that bought a MS here in Portugal, considering the price of the car, if they what to service it, have to transport it to France. And of course no SC around, yet.
