All Windows won't roll up or down - how to fix?

Just a quick note of thanks. I was about to do all sorts of troubleshooting that would've sucked my time and crapped on my day. I read your post, put the car in Drive, and the windows worked. 🤷‍♂️😆 Thanks for the post and following up with the answer. Have a great one. Sean

    How's the X for 3+ kids ?

I have a six-seater with three kids (now 8, 8, soon-to-be 10). We do great with it. Having a gap in the second row is really helpful for us. It makes the car "breathe" easier (feel roomier, less cramped) as well as getting in and out. Road trips work just fine right now, but we do have to pack...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

That is precisely why all of my seat backs have Suntek on them. Had that done when wrapping Xpel on the front of the car. ;^)

Model X : Rear entertainment options

Pretty badass little setup. Clever. Something to think about, for sure. I'm thinking I probably should've called the SvC and gotten the $130 number before I paid to have protective film put on them. Heck, the seat covers are cheaper than the mounts ;^) I wonder how long they'll keep stocking...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

That's pretty sweet! 1. How easy is it to get the iPads on and off? 2. How secure are they when attached? 3. How do you deal with audio - just standard earbuds plugged in? 4. How are the mounts attached to the seat? Removable? 5. And...how much would a rig like that cost? Outside of the case...

Is the Model X spoiler fixed or retractable?

My 90D spoiler is active as well. VIN 34xx. Took delivery in May 2016.

    Wiki Model X Reset Techniques

I've done it a number of times and didn't have to change any settings back to what I like. So, I suspect the answer is "No."

Model X : Rear entertainment options

I went with the 10-inch cup holder mount suggested earlier. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F0IQTE8 Worked like a champ. Bluetooth to X audio, fader to the back. Plugged charger into the USB right there. Not perfect by any stretch, but completely workable. Sean

Model X : Rear entertainment options

I've seen the cupholder mount before, but worried about the fold-out rear cupholders being strong enough to hold things firmly. You haven't had an issue?

Model X : Rear entertainment options

I could, but that would mean three tablets for three kids - something my wife says she's not ready for ;^) Thanks for the suggestion, though! I have the six seater with two kids in the middle row and one in the back. Middle is the only place that makes sense for all of them to see...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

Heh, well hello brother-from-another-mother! We're just about to take our first road trip in the X. I am trying a suction mount from the top of the windshield, hanging down between the two front seats holding an iPad for this trip. It is design to attach to the windshield and rest on the dash...

    Glossy seat backs + kids

I had the entire front of my X (bumper, hood, fenders, foglights, headlights, rear view mirrors) and the seats done in one day. I'd imagine a pro would get just the seats done in half a day. My guy (Derek at Atlanta Protective Films) added a nice touch of wrapping the aluminum kickplates, too...

    Wiki Model X FAQ (wiki)

Sorry for the delay. Every time I remembered to measure, I wasn't at home... Anyhow, It is hard to get a good measurement at the apex of the door at half mast, as it is on top of the car. I measured about 17" above the roofline. Not sure if that helps. Happy to try different measures or pics...

    Glossy seat backs + kids

Interesting. What was used? That is less than half what most Xpel/Suntek folks are charging.
  15. SeanA

    Glossy seat backs + kids

Nice! Mine are set to be wrapped tomorrow with Xpel. I was concerned because the Xpel pattern for the seatback causes a seam along the curved edge. Did yours? Is it noticeable?

    Model X Insurance

Overwhelming advice is to shop around. I've been overpaying for years, apparently. I've gotten great rates on the X (plus my two other modest cars) from Travelers and Liberty Mutual. I'm in Georgia. Gave my VIN, it showed up in their systems, they quoted fair rates. I'm going to call one or two...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

And more than that, they've basically said that they have no interest in having people write custom modules - but rather use a platform like CarPlay or others to sling apps/the screen from your mobile device (phone/tablet/etc) onto the screen. That would be awesome news for those of us that...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

Congratulations on the new X! Mine isn't expected until late-April to May. We have an Odyssey that we're keeping. We similarly splurged on the DVD system and use it ALL THE TIME on longer trips ;^) All three of my younger children face forward. Beyond not wanting to buy each of them an iPad and...

Will the second row seats fold flat? If so, how?

Absolutely. Though it pains me to admit, I fear that I'll be pulling stale cheerios out of the cracks and crevices of this amazing bird for years to come ;) Oh how I wish the second (and third!) row were more versatile... Didn't stop me from confirming, but I would've gone with the seven instead...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

And that is different than what inside sales told me - which is basically that reservation number dictates when you get access to configure and production sequencing is dictated by when you confirm. I think the fundamental problem here, as with MUCH of the information flow around the X, is that...

    Wiki Model X FAQ (wiki)

The link I put in the wiki is to a post in this thread with an image taken directly out of a Tesla-published document. Bizarre that it is only in the towing guide, but it is nonetheless, published by the mothership. Sean

Will the second row seats fold flat? If so, how?

Exactly what we're doing. X on order, keeping the Odyssey for configurability and pure number of passengers in sealbelts. Went with the 6-seater X for better flow and visibility into back row...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

By the time I finally hit Order, I could have run that interface blind-folded with one hand... ;) Had the damn thing memorized. So did my wife - she was super pleased about that! Not going to venture to check you math, but if you consider all possibilities and permutations, it is quite a few...

Bonnie's Xcellent Adventure w/X Sig 2 - Config, Delivery, Roadtrip

You take your fancy aerodynamics talk outta here, buzzkiller ;) This thing can fly! Now, just need to think of a way to augment the geometry of the door enough, plus disabling sensors, ... This. Could. Work. And before someone goes all stupid-internet-reply on that - no, I'm not serious. Yet.

Bonnie's Xcellent Adventure w/X Sig 2 - Config, Delivery, Roadtrip

Bonnie, perhaps you or one of the other owners can answer a quick question about the seven seat config. Basically I have a number of small children. They're going to want to be in the way back. In our van, when they sit back there and we don't take out the second row middle seat, they're "gone"...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

I had similar misgivings - which is why I've repeatedly talked to inside sales about breaking up Premium. Then there is deciding on 90D versus 70D (no way I'm getting the P90D past the CFO) - being forced to pay for air suspension (not included, nice try Tesla) to get the extra range and...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

I can say that from 11/30 to today, the prices and options do not appear to have changed. I've had conversations with inside sales about Tesla breaking up Premium and while they agree, they haven't heard anything about it happening. Nearly positive that the screenshots you've seen are the exact...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

For me, that isn't the point. Keeping the clean lines while also safely addressing entertainment for the back of the bus is. If I, or the car, slam on the brakes - I don't want a $200 thin metal/plastic projectile aimed at the kids heads. Or mine. In the grand scheme, this is pretty far down...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

Not sure. Others out here with access are waiting to configure until they see one (smarter than me!), which won't be until Q1. I was given access on 11/30, didn't place my order until last night, and heard nothing from Tesla pushing me along. That's what I "know". I'd imagine that it will be...

    Ventilated seats?

I don't think that's it. If one selects leather/leatherlike without checking the Premium package, the seats are slick - no perforations. If you then select Premium, it perforates all of them. The "they" in my sentence was the perforations, not the tie between material selection and Premium. Sean
  32. SeanA

    Ventilated seats?

Agreed, but they are somehow tied to the Premium package, at least according to the pics in the Design Studio.
  33. SeanA

    Ventilated seats?

In Design Studio, when I select Premium, all three rows of seats show perforations. I don't know what that means. And I hate that I have to speculate instead of just getting a solid and unchanging answer from inside sales... The bleeding edge, I suppose.
  34. SeanA

    Ventilated seats?

Man, that interior looks SHARP! Pretty much exactly how I have mind laid out in my head. Thanks for the pic. You're right, looking there, it would seem to indicate that most of the seat is ventilated - which would be great news. I just tried something else in the Design Studio. If you zoom in...
  35. SeanA

    Ventilated seats?

I can see where it would seem that way, but that does not answer the question. When you click the Learn More link, all it does is shift a new image and text into view at the top of the Premium package, with vauge copy that does not specify where the perforations will be:

Model X : Rear entertainment options

Yep, and that is the "solution" that I'll probably have to go with. It is the "draping something over the headrest" approach that I was trying to avoid. I want something designed in. Not hard (or expensive) if you are Tesla, hard (AND expensive) if you are aftermarket. Disappointing, that's...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

What makes you say that few people would want the system? Are the kids riding in the back of the Model X somehow different than the kids riding in the back of all other cars of this type? What am I missing? (Honestly, not trying to be prickly) You wouldn't have to store media in the car if it...
  38. SeanA

Model X : Rear entertainment options

Yep, totally agree guys. I use Plex extensively, which is why I'd love some kind of rear passenger entertainment displays and audio segmenting (different source for front and back, etc) in the X. It would be awesome to just have a client and storage onboard that I could toss media onto. Or even...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

Fair enough. Do we think that display and headphone technology are a moving target? I can easily see where because of built-in connectivity, I could either load onboard storage with movies and TV shows from my home network for display through seat-back-mounted screens. Could even stream Netflix...

Model X : Rear entertainment options

I've looked around and have not seen rear entertainment options discussed (sorry if I missed it). For many people, myself included, this is a family car - used on road trips. Most cars of this size and utility that I've seen have options for fold-down flat screens, wireless headphones, etc to...

Will the second row seats fold flat? If so, how?

Add me to the list of people that would love for them to be removeable. It would make my 6 v 7 seat config decision for me. Data point from inside sales is that the seats will not be removeable. I was at least hoping I could yank the middle seat in row two. Nope. Now, answers from inside sales...

Is the Model X spoiler fixed or retractable?

<runs to measure garage> Crap. Looks like some rearranging is gonna happen ;) Your answer is far more complete than the one I got from them, but they did confirm a static spoiler on 70 and 90 for me. Sean
  43. SeanA

    Ventilated seats?

Yep, frustrating at this point. I was very clear in my question to inside sales, they paused, seemed to lookup or ask someone else - and then said butts and backs. The one possible validating point is that in the Design Studio, the ventilation holes appear to run up the visible part of the back...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

Very logical. I was just thinking that the parts list by batch wouldn't vary so much as to make it an issue. Any sourced parts would get used quickly. I don't know how "just in time" the lines run. I wouldn't, at all, want my indecision to delay someone else. This is more a reflection of my...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

I had the same question. First in my list a few posts ago. Inside sales told me that reservation number only controls when you get access to the Design Studio. Confirmation is your order of production. So, there are many people that will be ahead of me in the production line (because I still...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

I made a list of questions at I've been piling up as I stare at my Design Studio. Went to the retail store, but they haven't been trained. So I called inside sales. You guys may already know the answers to these questions, but I thought it might be best to over share versus under. Several...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

I have been wondering about the air suspension. This would be my first Tesla, so don't have any feel for the difference between air suspension and coils for driveability, etc. You seem to not be a fan. Why? Anyone else have an opinion as well? I've been staring at the configurator for a week...

    Production X Configuration Has Begun!

I'm P2464 and the email landed in my inbox an hour or so ago. Here we go! I was wondering where the textile seats went until I saw your post here, thanks. That is a frustratingly expensive filter. Here's to hoping they'll reconsider the packaging... A couple questions, if anyone happens to...
