I agree with you now. I did some further testing after writing last night and the auto open and close just seems to be based on location. I left the garage open and it auto closed when I pulled out of the garage. Seems like it's just a geo fence.

Same kind of behavior happened to me after the update. I removed and re-programed both doors, reset the location, and rebooted both consoles. Seems to be fixed now.

I think the auto home link is just auto close when you exit and auto open when you return. Summon seems to open the garage to exit but if you are driving out manually I believe you have to open the garage yourself.
