    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

This car remains vaporware for quite some time. It also shows that they don't have the ability for over-the-air updates. Further, I expect price increases due to the battery supplier issue mentioned before. Hope for something better is nothing else than a delayed disappointment. For those who...

    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

I just invite you to do a google image search for etron. Better do it after lunch. Naming EVs like this just shows the inner feelings about electric vehicles of the Audi guys. I mean, come on. How can a large company like this with hundreds of marketing gurus on the pay roll come up with...

    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

I wouldn't be surprised if the Model 3 charges faster on a 120KW supercharger than the e-tron quttro on a 150 KW charger over the full 0-80% charging period. IMO, buying this e-tron is a high risk currently. Audi has no long term expertise with large batteries in terms of durability and...

«Safe» to buy new Model X?

After both the Audi e-tron quattro and Mercedes EQC are known, it is safe to say that the X is the best of the pack for quite some tome and safe to order IMO.

    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

The disappointing thing is that after years of hyping the car, the result is far below the expectations. I would have expected something better than a 2015 model X from a company with that kind of money and expertise. There is no USP. No technical excellence. Except for the virtual mirrors...

    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

The only model available first is the edition one for 86'700 USD (excl. MwSt.). The 79k € model will not be available till the end of 2019 or beginning 2020. Not true.

    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

Now as these „Tesla killers“ materialize, it becomes more and more obvious how advanced the Model X was and still is. It don‘t think the e-tron is bad, in contrary, seems like a good model without the technical flaws of an I-pace or especially an EQC. But the car does not set a new benchmark, it...

    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

This could indeed be a first competitor for Tesla, as it also brings some cool features like screen mirrors. Looking forward to that. This might increase pressure on Tesla to improve the X. The world needs more good EVs. The vehicle itself might be quite good. Though owners will suffer the...

Mercedes EQC electric SUV (Concept EQ)

Petrol-GLCs will have that dashboard too soon. It is even in the new A-class models, the low end product of Mercedes Benz.

Mercedes EQC electric SUV (Concept EQ)

You compare a naked automobile with a fully equiped one. Go configure your EQC when the configurator will be online in 2019 and check the number at the summary page. Mercedes Benz option prices will do the rest.

    Mercedes Debuts EQC Electric Crossover

For those who waited for the EQC, it is now a good point in time to press the order button on the Model X webpage. The EQC is designed to fail, because good EVs could hurt ICE car sales, where Daimler AG earns lots of money. Compared to the GLC it is based on, the EQC is 25'000 Euros more...

Mercedes EQC electric SUV (Concept EQ)

Either way the car is not very efficient. Probably due to aerodynamic drawbacks. After all the hype surrounding the concept car from 2016, the EQC is the disappointment of this year.

Mercedes EQC electric SUV (Concept EQ)

Not often I saw such a boring launch event like the EQC one in Stockholm. That guy talked 15 out of 20 minutes about Sweden. Obviously there is not enough stuff to say about the vehicle. The car is a converted GLC. The back looks very good (as it does with the GLC), but the front looks ugly to...

    Audi Q6 e-tron EV

This Audi production system looks quite 'slow' to me. I wonder how many motors they produce per week. The big Kuka robot at 15' seems to be way to big for the task it does.

Should I wait for Model X Refresh???

Indeed, the A-Pillar is gigantic and for sure a disadvantage of the car. I also like the windshield, especially in the traffic light scenario. But the problem is, and that is a physical limitation due to the needed thickness of the glass, light ghosting may be disturbing at dusk.

They should replace interior lights with stronger one. Just did an aftermarket replacement, the original led lights are a joke.

Model S range and interior update imminent?

... I forgot the dual wireless phone charger which S/X are lacking. Using after market accessories to add that feature makes your interior craggy and unesthetic.

    Jaguar I-Pace

To be honest, although the iPace charges slower than Model X, it is still one of the fastest charging EVs out there.

Should I wait for Model X Refresh???

There won't be a refresh anytime soon. The interior camera and the wireless phone chargers might be added sometime in the future. Especially as there are now all set options including flat folding seats available the X is a good offer. It is a pitty though that Tesla reduced the color options...

    Porsche Mission E

I one drove a 911 Carrera GTS back in 2015. This was very fun to drive, more fun than a S P90D, as the handling was much better, stiffer. It was glued to the track. It had funny features as the sound button which made it louder externally by adjusting something mechanically in the exhaust. As I...

I don't believe that press release BS for a second. Hold Steering Wheel every 20-25 seconds?

The main problem is that the systems today cannot handle some 'obvious' situations like lane dividers, static objects and road works. If these problems are solved, we're dealing with way more sophisticated situations that often also would also cause a human driver to crash. Human drivers also...

Hold Steering Wheel every 20-25 seconds?

Drivers can't do either. Almost all human drivers take risks and drive in a way that it would lead to an accident if something unexpected would be around the corner or behind the hill.

    Updated autopilot sucks!

To my understanding, a nag-prevention tool would not apply "constant" torque when driving, but vary it's torque a little based on the road unevenness which causes vertical acceleration on the tool and therefore variation on the torque on the steering wheel.

You can get sued for anything. As there is no law that requires an awareness check by the car, they probably cannot get convicted if they would not do it at all.

    Updated autopilot sucks!

That may sound odd, but it could even be that the driver might legally be more safe if he used a nag-prevention tool that indicates to the logger that the hands always have been on the wheel. The statements Tesla made about the drivers in the crash cases are really disturbing. You could be...

    Updated autopilot sucks!

  43. tescroft

Hold Steering Wheel every 20-25 seconds?

Yes we do. With this increased nagging intervall, paired with a flawful hands on detection mechanism, Autosteer is becoming a useless feature. Still worth 6000 USD? I highly doubt it.

    Updated autopilot sucks!

    Updated autopilot sucks!

While it is true that reaction time increases driving hands-off, this wasn’t the reason for the accident in either the white truck crash nor the lane divider crash nor the Uber crash. Updated autopilot sucks!
