HPWC Wiring: Is conduit required in crawlspace?

The really truthful answer to this question depends on whether or not you plan to pull a permit thus require an inspection by your local government and/or prefer to install it to current electrical codes. If you DIY, and don't plan on anyone ever seeing what is in the crawlspace, then running...

    So sick of the negativity

Nowhere is it written that one can be satisfied with some of something, yet be disappointed with other issues I love driving my Model X.. the torque, the suspension, the display and Autopilot all part of driving bliss.... Then the vibration felt through the drivetrain on acceleration that...

I am now planning to get the full self-driving option and here is why

OMG, this thread demonstrates the perpetual mental illness afflicting "believers" that will continue to look to Elon and Tesla with hope and optimism, despite over 3 years of amassing thousands of frustrated owners, mostly purchasing a Model X. Perhaps it's a self-inflicted delusional syndrome...

    Model X Buy Back

This may be too late for the OP, but I know of an owner who had their Model X repurchased June 2017, and was reimbursed for all of registration fees and taxes, 50% of Xpel and window tinting cost, deducted only $4200 of the Fed Tax credit after submitting evidence of limited credit received due...

Road noise in MX vs. MS

I loved the acceleration of my Porsche Cayenne diesel (408 ft/lbs), far better than any other vehicle ever driven... until the Tesla, while I never have driven a Porsche S - Turbo, but almost every ICE is "sluggish" compared to even a MX 90D.

Road noise in MX vs. MS

My Model X, delivered 6/2017 is the "Wind and Road" Noisiest vehicle I have owned in over 20 years, spoiled by Lexus and Porsche. The lack of any soundproof insulation, large glass, and inadequate door and window seals makes it even louder than our 2014 Cayenne Diesel, by 7-10 dBs on the same...

Thinking of Ordering an X, worried about outstanding issues

OP should know by now (just by reading this forum) that the build quality of all Tesla vehicles is highly variable, as is the luck of an owner regarding ending up with a Tesla and the possible problems that occur. Also variable is the functionality and capability of the SvC center to...

Just dropped off my month-old 100D for a surprisingly open-ended service appointment

I am exhausted just reading your saga, cant keep track of how many times you brought into service for the same reason and still No Joy... Most state Lemon Laws state 30 days accumulative, or 4 service visits for same issue and still it resolved. Historically, Tesla would agree to "buy back"...

Reat seats AC - Model X

Wow, I can blow through tires

My Model X ruined 4 Michelin 20's purchased from Tesla after 4K miles, and the service techs said... "that the price for driving a premium EV vehicle"... So lessons learned: 1) Never buy Michelins, which are known to be softer rubber, and despite the weight rating, do not last on heavy EVs...

Planning to install Sirius in my Model 3.....

I do like the idea of a mobile Sat radio not requiring data for signal. It's not a big deal to connect it up with an antenna on the dash for road trips. It's not ethical, but having an email system that offers disposable email addresses (like Yahoo), is handy for making a new email for the...

Canada: Potential Paint Protection Wrap Group Buy (Xpel)

FINALLY: Midnight silver MX with full Xpel Stealth Wrap!!!

Are they going to wrap around the edges where possible or just stop at the outside edge of the panel? My first wrap was non-wrapped, which held up well for a year, but the edges were slightly visible. My current car has edges wrapped, and this requires some "cuts" to allow for rounded corners.

Having been a Tesla owner for over a year, I can tell you @Dakkor is absolutely correct, you will hate the way Tesla supports customers who want options and are DIYers. They do not even support information on replacement of fuses. Windshield Wipers, air for tires and electricity... that's...

Chevy Bolt - 200 mile range for $30k base price (after incentive)

Unfortunately, Tesla is relatively overpriced for the basic functionality (transportation), very tech heavy (AP, EV, Auto-door control, etc) and not a true premium vehicle (no where close to Porsche, MB, BMW) , so the price drops "like a rock" with a new hardware upgrade that basically defines...

    HVAC for 5-Seater Model X

I think you are exactly correct, all the talk of the HV connections has been a "red herring" for speculation that there was an additional cooling element in the 6/7 that was removed for the 5 seater. Where the heck did "buff out the matte finish" come from? That is not possible, as the 3mm PPFis the same matte material all the way through. If you get a non-healing damage on the PPF, it would have certainly destroyed the paint finish, and again it's cheaper to replace a PPF panel than to...

    Supercharger getting mostly Chademo speeds

How do you know that you haven't just hit a bad SC outlet? During prior road trips, I would notice a much lower then anticipated charging rate, so I would move to another number and the charging rates wold be sometimes the same, but more often better. Now if Tesla confirms your are being...

Tesla's Autopilot needs to be shut down and NHTSA needs to do their due diligence

    Supercharger getting mostly Chademo speeds

All of this discussion of reduced SC charging rates is very disconcerting. With my HW1 90D, I did a 2K mile trip and often had charging rates up over 300 MPH while in the "sweet spot", occasionally had a slow charger resolved by moving to another one. Now with a newly delivered HW2 90D, I...

Canada: Potential Paint Protection Wrap Group Buy (Xpel)

z $4600 for a complete Wrap is not a bad price, but $1200 is ridiculously high for Opticoat Plus, especially when many, like myself, feel is it a complete waste of money. There is no guarantee that the coating will adhere to the Wrap long term, even Xpel says to reapply their sealant every...

    Model X 5 Seat Deliveries

I received mine last week with the double straps. Admittedly the leather strap on the rear board can get in the way of the latching mechanism, but doesn't stop the door from closing. However, it is kind of in the way, so I started to fold it in when not needed. Not sure if the plastic...

FINALLY: Midnight silver MX with full Xpel Stealth Wrap!!!

I just read that some coatings on Xpel Stealth altered it's appearance, some made it "shiny". Not sure exactly what that means, could enhance the look. Well, I am not an expert, but I have done considerable research and testing, and have created 2 threads covering this topic. There is a single A/C compressor for all Model X seating configs, but in the 5-seater there is a single fan control, and with the fan on high and all vents open, the...
