Cars and Coffee at Montgomery Mall (8-16)

I knew about it because I got an email from Tesla. One of the store employees (initials ET), told me that they cannot post it to TMC, but it is totally cool if members do. I wasn't sure if I should have posted it to TMC, y'know maybe there was a limited supply of free tshirts :-). There is also...

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Okay to clarify, I would be pretty happy once they release autopilot. Lets leave it at that. WOOF! :)

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Bonnie, sorry but you are completely misconstruing the intent. A simple official confirmation from Tesla is all that is needed. And a tweet from Elon isn't formal, or takes a lot of effort. But it would certainly show good intent and progress. I'd be happy with any official communication from...

More proof that people read headlines, and not the actual text.

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Nope! I'll believe it when I see it. Someone said something about some closed facebook group that no one can see, .. versus an official word from Tesla, I'd take the official word anyday. Plus if they did roll it out, what is the harm in admitting to what they did? Not like they did a bad thing...

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

I'll believe a confirmation when I see one! Also if they indeed have rolled it out, the tweet happy CEO can simply tweet "Autopilot was rolled out to EAP for testing on Aug 15".

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Actually I am looking for just a confirmation that Beta testing is indeed being done. I haven't seen any. Where is this facebook group confirmation that you speak of?

Here is another non-news, attention grabbing, link bait article. Tesla Starts Beta-Testing AutoPilot 7 Features with Owners – News – Car and Driver | Car and Driver Blog Seriously, if you've got nothing to say, then shut up!? The article has 3 paragraphs. The first paragraph is just...

Version 7 Dash Display Short Video

Judging based on his other Instagram posts, he was a tesla employee. I'm guessing he got yelled at for posting that video. Still since he was internal to Tesla, I would think this is no confirmation that 7.0 has been rolled out to anyone outside Tesla so far. autopilot delays are beyond...

S70 vs S70D? Air suspension worth it?

I didn't get air suspension. Its expensive and less reliable than coils. I don't regret my decision.

Nice. I'd wear that suit when riding my Tesla.

    Charging for Supercharging

By then we will be commuting to mars in pink jumpsuits! - - - Updated - - - I can see and agree with that. New policies should apply to new owners. We bought the car based on current promises.

Distance to Service Center an Issue?

Tesla is a fantastic car, the new ones are much more reliable than the older ones. But at the end of the day, it is a machine, and sometimes machines do break. If driving an hour once a year bothers you, maybe this isn't the right car for you. But do you imagine that with a Tesla, you might not...

    Charging for Supercharging

Pretty sure the avg. selling price of Model 3 will be nowhere around 35K. Maybe 50-60K.

Rumor: Model X will have full LED headlights

While LEDs are more efficient than xenon, they 1. Will not make any appreciable difference to range since headlights constitute very little energy usage 2. Are not as bright as xenons. 3. Personal speaking, I love the eyebrow lights of the current model s. I wonder what the LED redesign will do.

    Charging for Supercharging

You'd cancel the car over an occasional $5?

Are you obsessed with your overall energy usage?

I hypermile because, 1. Habit 2. Less energy I use, the better it is, irrespective of costs. Why be wasteful? 3. It's also good for the car if you don't abuse it. Brakes will last longer, and I suspect other parts will too. 4. A predictable car on the road is far safer than someone who does...

    Charging for Supercharging

I know a lot of people are riled up about receiving polite letters encouraging charging at home. But lets be real, 1. Superchargers are very expensive to run and setup, but free to use, and as more and more Tesla's are sold, there will be some bad apples who will abuse supercharging. 2...

Any lawyers care to offer some non-binding opinions on what legal recourses owners have in light of autopilot delays? Does Tesla have the high ground here?

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Andy, Trilson, don't bother me with the facts. I'm here for the gossip! Oh and beleive me, leaks will happen.

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Okay Aug 15 is here. Who got Autopilot EAP? Speak up people! Any news? I'm not seeing anything so far. Did Elon pull a fast one again?

Supercharger - Bethesda, MD (Permanently Closed, Oct 2016)

There are two J1722s there. And yes at the back end there are spots available, almost always unused. I would love to see a real supercharger in that parking lot.

Are you obsessed with your overall energy usage?

One more Q - do you pre-warm/cool before disconnecting? I don't. Another Q - how do you use regen? I find that the high regen setting is not smooth enough, and I frequently end up using friction brakes or end up coasting the last few yards at 5mph (no regen). So sometimes what I do is, I depress...

Are you obsessed with your overall energy usage?

Same here, except I'm at 279 wh/mi (70D). I hardly use brakes, and I drive at 62mph on a 55mph freeway. What is your regen setting? High or low? I'm on high, but wondering if low will be more efficient. Check this out - Hypermiling like a boss!!

    Tesla moments

I drove a Honda Accord yesterday for about 30 seconds. The way that steering shakes on idle is just ridiculous.

Android Auto and/or Apple CarPlay, please

Yes it isn't just waze. Lots of other integration possibilities.
  34. A

Android Auto and/or Apple CarPlay, please

.. knowing Apple, there is probably also some sort of insane royalty payment built in. Yes I'd like to see carplay too. The current voice controls suck. And it would be nice to have real apps, such as Waze etc on that beautiful 17" display. Browser waze isn't the real thing!

Well have you actually signed up for the EAP for AutoPilot? http://tinyurl.com/2fcpre6

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Exactly! A 2 month beta, with no leaks, is not possible! If indeed Beta is released tomorrow, we will know. If anything, at this point it would serve Tesla well to show progress on the matter. We have been on the "Beta will be released next week" tune since June!! Now whether or not will it...

Current Owners - What are the must have options and options you could live without?

While not an option, I would highly recommend sparing $1900 for 4 services.
  38. A

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

I hope you are :). Tesla keeps pushing this out, I love the car, but I am frustrated and disappointed by autopilot delays. Seriously tesla get your act together.

Am I going to regret leaving off the air suspension option?

I am mostly around smooth roads, 19" and coil - no regrets.
  40. A

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Supposedly the beta of autopilot is going to be rolled out tomorrow. Invariably if that happens, we should see some leaked information surface. If it happens that is.

    Model S convertible

Even then, at 7K miles the warranty should cover the battery. Indeed strange why that is a salvage. Must be a story of some sort.

    Buying Used Question

Depends on the car. Some cars are not 'supercharger enabled' and to enable that you will have to pay a one time $2k. The newer cars are all supercharger enabled from the factory.

Supercharger - Bethesda, MD (Permanently Closed, Oct 2016)

Next Gen Seat Upgrade available, not a good deal.

I dilly dallied getting next gen seats or not, and eventually decided to get them. And boy am I glad I did. They look better, they feel better, and I would have been really mad to learn that getting them afterwardsw ould have cost $7000 instead of $750 upcharge (vs. old gen leather).
