2021+ Model S tires and wheels: all things (Plaid, LR, OEM, aftermkt, 19, 20, 21, summer, winter etc.)

I debated it for sure but looks like might be more at play with the width etc - since it is brand new and both Tesla and my own shop said don't do it I didnt' - was worried about the warranty :-(

2021+ Model S tires and wheels: all things (Plaid, LR, OEM, aftermkt, 19, 20, 21, summer, winter etc.)

Highly recommended against by both Tesla and my garage - keeps the sand/salt road gunk out of the back of the rotors etc. I thought of it but they all said no.

2021+ Model S tires and wheels: all things (Plaid, LR, OEM, aftermkt, 19, 20, 21, summer, winter etc.)

Perhaps - not sure why would want to do that though - salt/snow/build up - in part protected by the shield. BUt either way - callsed tesla and they recommend against it. Bit surprising as there is (as you know) a 19" option - not sure why this one so tight - the interior of the rim must have...

2021+ Model S tires and wheels: all things (Plaid, LR, OEM, aftermkt, 19, 20, 21, summer, winter etc.)

I just tried to install my 19" with Nokians that worked on my P85D and P100D on my Plaid. They did not fit. the clearance from the brake shield to the inside of the rim was mm way too close. That is too bad as I have at least two more winter seasons on those tires. Now I am scrambling to...

    Software Update error ?

Thank you all. I will try that. I would have thought though once the update had downloaded, the WIFI strength wouldn't matter? i.e. I installed it that evening, in a zone where I wasn't hooked to WIFI (the second time). The first time it was where there was WIFI.

    Software Update error ?

Hi: I couldn't find another thread on this so apologies if I missed it. I currently have a P100D, and about 3 weeks ago it upgraded to 2019.8.5 3aaa23d Twice since then new updates have been pushed to the car, which I install, but then both times have received an error that the update didn't...

    2012 P85 versus 2017 100D

Thanks Doug. Appreciate it. I saw on a thread and online a few months back they had cooled seats as well - but then they stopped offering that as an option. I think it was due to maintenance/quality issues. Too bad as would be nice in the summer (the climate system still leaves a bit to be...

    2012 P85 versus 2017 100D

Hi: Been a while since I posted. I have a 2015 P85D and am looking now for ordering a P100D. Likely not for delivery before next summer, but never too early to start researching. Your comparison is really helpful. I am particularly interested in the interior upgrades since mine and also the...

Cold weather and smart air suspension issue

Thanks Doug. Perhaps a service issue then. Seems strange only happens at highway speed after an hour or so when really cold.

Cold weather and smart air suspension issue

About three times now when driving from Ottawa to Tremblant when it has been at its coldest (eg -15C or lower) about 1/2 way into the trip I receive the red warning icon on the dash which indicates smart air suspension isn't working. Unfortunately, means sometime the car is stuck in the law...

What type of range degradation to be expected?

Thanks Peter that is helpful. I made a mistake when I first got mine and it wasn't charging right to 100 percent before a trip. I thought maybe an issue with the public charger I was using so I tried to override it and restart the charging immediately 2-3 times. Then I got a warning that...

    CANADA Version 7.1

Got mine last night and installed. I will see if it works. Question - I just moved into a condo with a garage door to the owners parking garage. Anyone set up homelink with a garage door like that ? Otherwise stuck with the fob i do hope summon comes to Canada soon I will be off to the cottage...

What type of range degradation to be expected?

I entirely agree. Just caught me by surprise at first when about 3 months in I wasn't even getting 400 Kms on a max charge. I was worried it would keep on going. But actually has totally stabilized. But now that you mention it was after a firmware upgrade. Hmmmm

What type of range degradation to be expected?

I plug in too whenever home and typically charge to 90 % and leave it at that. Very occasionally I will do 100%.

Have there been any upgrades recently?

iPhone correct. Use it all on *way. No I don't eat.

What type of range degradation to be expected?

Hi i have a P85D delivered in June 2015. The rated range was consistent for a several months then dropped. Pretty consistent since but it seems low. 90% charge is 354 km? Seems low? 100 percent not even over 400 km :(. I look online tesla website and it seems a pipe dream. Brad

Have there been any upgrades recently?

I too haven't gotten an update since 7.0. No tweaks after that at all after One a month or so. I haven't received the 7.1 yet but I have moved and now don't have wifi in the garage. Only on weekends at the cottage. Hopefully will get it soon. The auto drive looking forward to that. I use it...

I called the Montreal dealer and they didn't have any information about it yet. I am surprised other dealers are installing.

    LTE in Canada?

Well I hope they offer it in Canada soon as I would do that upgrade - biggest LTE network in the world, might as well use it :-) I also need to get winter rims and tires, but don't want their stock tires. Maybe get it done all at once. Anyone had success in getting them to use different tires...

Is the Premium Audio Worth the upgrade?

Thank you both for that feedback. I have been listening mostly to XM and also Slacker, so that might explain the problem. I can try the Bluetooth to my iPhone which has all my music on it and high quality - maybe that will make a difference. That said, my BMW on Sirius XM sounded wayyyy...

Is the Premium Audio Worth the upgrade?

What are the setting most people are using? I did get the premium sound and got my car about a week ago. However, I am shocked at the low level of bass and quality of sound. I am wondering if I should be setting it different - typically I was told not to muss around with the equalizer...

They had a pickup truck with a tesla trailer. Would hold one car. Covered. It was really nice. Car super safe and strapped. The driver was an amazing gentleman (missed his name) who was crazy careful backing it out and pulling into driveway. Zero concerns there @Sgutz

Okay thank you all. I thought it might be tight. 3 stops kinda sucks :). But should be fine. Make an adventure of it just need the car now ! going to Barrie as well. I take it back roads won't work. Will need to do 416 to 401 and then 400 north ? No where to charge along the back roads.

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

Well, so much for my delivery on Friday or Saturday of this week. My car was in Chicago (same time as Sgutz it seemed). Then I was told it was put on a truck and shipped to Canada that way. Then two days later a different rep told me that in fact it wasn't on a truck but was trained into...

Thanks Doug. Can't wait to get my car... I am losing hope it will be Friday/Sat now :-) I just checked the updated supercharge map, and Ottawa shows one for 2016 now (I haven't seen that before). So there is some indication then :-) Not that I would take it to the bank.

Ottawa Tesla Owners (was Factory Pickup)

I would certainly enjoy that Doug and would join (if you would have me). I was at a Tesla test drive event at the Brookstreet this morning. You can add me to the count in Ottawa too. My car is supposed to be delivered Thursday/Friday this week although I cannot seem to get a firm commitment as to delivery date, so it may push into next week. I think Sgutz and myself are in the same boat and should have our cars delivered the same...
