    Preventive eMMC replacement on MCU1

Well I guess we'll see. This is a known problem and has been for quite a while and the NHTSA investigation adds further fuel to this fire. Regardless of the actual cause, the read/write cycles and the expected life of the chips IS, at the very least, a contributing factor. This is an integral...

    Preventive eMMC replacement on MCU1

This will almost inevitably lead to a class action lawsuit.Tesla has known about this MUC/eMMC problem for at least 2 years now which means that all vehicles which were under warranty at the time should have been recalled and repaired, free of charge. This is not caused by an "electronics...

I just bought the car of my dreams! A 2011 3.0 Roadster!

Yes, that was one of mine (you can see it in my Avatar). It was a pleasure to sell Ken that car. It went to the right owner I'm not sure if he or Tom will sell their car first...it will be a VERY VERY cold day in hell I suspect. I took off the wrap and left it on the emblems and the tail lights...

    Have you gained weight?;):D:eek:

    Today's Roadster Orphan

I just put new tires on my model S and I think I was at $800 for the rubber alone. Not sure how you managed 800 out the door, where was that? And groupers prices on the tires were unbeatable for yokohama's they ran around 750 dollars for all four.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

The exterior CF pieces are badly faded and need to be refinished. I didn't check the tires but you can bet those will need replacing. With the battery repair (uncertain at best,) the car is going to need nearly $8k to make it functionally presentable.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

With the only 2 R80s in the world for sale right now, the higher the price for defective-battery 2.0's and 2.5,s the better! Make an offer while you can because I might change my mind. Would like to buy some stocks right now so I can buy a new Roadster AND an old one with that money when it...

    Today's Roadster Orphan

no, I saw it at Gruber's, parked right next to yours, LOL. It's still for sale, he'd rather sell it to someone here than to Tesla to get dismantled.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

Bingo. Just saw a 2011 very orange sport with a bad battery pack and 60K miles that Tesla offered 51K for. That kind of stuff is going to put some upwards pressure on prices.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

Sold that one, I could try to put you in touch with the buyer. It's a sport 3.0 (r80) no hardtop, though.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

Yeah Tom, it's so badass my daughter does not want me to part with it, I think I've had it 3 years now. Others have come and gone (like yours) and the original owner was a spare-no-expense, daily drive it guy so it's mechanically the most solid car I've had.

Thanks, The last one sold in 15 minutes. It has to be a win-win for both the buyer and the seller.

Well I have two r80's that I am thinking about selling. PM me if interested. Both are pristine, have new tires, and have been serviced by Gruber- one this week and the other a few months back. Highly optioned including CF interiors and premium leather. Metallic White 17K mi, Thunder Grey 33K...

Car tracks straight and tires have worn even. No alignment necessary but I have a local guy that does track cars and is real reasonable.

    2.0 / 2.5 Roadster / Roadster Sport Tire Thread

Just finished having Gruber replace the tires on another 3.0 I just bought. Lots of options, the A048's are primarily track tires and they will not last long or handle in the rain. I have always used Continentals because I don't track the car and they last and they're the least expensive...

Could not be further from the truth. Does your home insurance pay assessed value if your house burns down? If it does, you should get a different insurance. For rare/unusual cars, the market determines the value. A professional appraiser, along with your purchase contract will go a long way...

Bill, where do i send to? I have sent before but get no responses from you. BTW, my CAC seems to have not budged from 193 in like 6 months. Was at Gruber for 3 months getting remanufactured PEM over the summer, though. Doing a range charge now to see where it's at.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

Since I'm here in Phoenix, I have little doubt that Peter Gruber can bring it back to life for the right price. The other issue is that it now carries a salvage title and, even with documentation that kids the value. I will follow it but given risks and transportation costs, nothing more than $30k.

    Today's Roadster Orphan

Actually, I read an article on this car (I think it was linked from here). The guy busted his ass marketing it at Barett-Jackson, it was a unique car (meaning a Tesla Roadster), low mileage, at the right time at the right place (collector's auction with high marketing$$). A second car sold there...

    Roadster 3.0

I have not tried increasing it. I thought I had 30A. But it's ok, I read that it's better to charge "low and slow," true or false? Is is better if you have the time to charge at 110V?
  45. thebabydoc

    Roadster 3.0

Thanks, It is REALLY charging slowly. The car is reading 207V/16A. I'm at 135miles this morning after 6 more hours. The chargeport is flashing yellow...I seemed to remember it flashes green or blue, am I mistaken?

Powertrain Problem: Restart When Safe (Error 909)

I had the PEM go out last year and they put in a rebuilt one after 4 weeks. Then, 4 weeks ago got the powertrain error and the car would not charge or start. 2.0 / 2.5 Roadster / Roadster Sport Tire Thread

Just bought the same ones for my 2010 R80 (they replaced bald AVS08's) and they are just infinitely better at 1/4 the price IMHO. Quiet, great grip, great handling. And STOLE them for less than $650 installed with warranty plus $70 Rebate from Discount Tire.
  48. thebabydoc

    Roadster 3.0

Does anyone have an estimate as to how long it takes to range charge a 3.0 battery from 25 miles? I am using a standard Porsche (240V charger) and my S is reading it at 16A? It put the first 25 miles back on in like an hour but now after 4 hours I'm at only 86 miles.

Pricing on CPOs - market status?

It is very, very nice but I believe you are asking $65.5 (non negotiable). I was looking a bit lower mileage/price, are you now negotiable? I was also just considering a 2015+ straight P85 or 60/70/85. As far as the roadster goes, as I wrote, they want to charge sales tax, so if I want to buy...
