Personal opinion, it’s going to be cheaper to retrofit the cars than write $12k checks to 3% of the fleet. Google says the FSD fleet is 400,000. If legacy is 3%, 12,000 cars, that still would cost them $144 million dollars to buy us out vs retrofitting for a small fraction of that.

You could get a 2020 Raven model S. It was the last one before the 2021 refresh, and has much fewer issues because it was at the end of the production run. You can also buy directly from Tesla if you want a 10k mi B2B warranty

While Tesla isn’t required to do anything, they also have liability for each car driving around in FSD. A couple of half billion dollar punitive damage settlements on HW3 cars and I bet there will be a lot more goodwill coming out of Austin

Tesla won’t support any salvage vehicles, the country does not matter. There are multiple threads about third party support for salvage vehicles on the forum. I would search for salvage support.

Tesla has a CCS charging upgrade for $400 that upgrades your charging ECU and includes the adapter which is a$150 value. It might be more cost effective to upgrade to the new onboard charger than repair the old one.

How many miles? A 2020 may still have some of the 50k/4 year factory warranty left to correct issues. I have a late 2019 raven and it has been trouble free to date with the exception of my passenger side mirror which sometimes folds and sometimes not. Overall I am very happy with it!

The EAP upgrade is $6k while MCU / HW3 upgrade is around $2k. You do lose FM/XM unless you pay $500 to get the tuners put back in. That car has unlimited premium connectivity, the newer ones you have to pay $100/ year for it. Upgrading MCU2/HW3 would give you the same hardware as the 2020...

Not a big deal, but Tesla added gen 3 wall connectors to the app. You can input your utility time of use rate plan into the system to more accurately calculate your charging costs and integrate with powerwall/solar. It would be $20 in parts and 20 min if you wanted to switch to an outlet from WC.

Not to be a jerk, but if you have this many concerns I would walk away and find something local. Bumper paint is cheap. Outside of warranty, Tesla SC is not a cheap proposition.

One more item, the car’s bumper to bumper warranty was 4 years and 50k miles, so its likely that it only has the battery and drive train warranty left

120k on a 2020 is a lot of mileage. A normal ICE dealer is going to want to move it along, no one wants a car with that much mileage on the lot. Be aware, the early ravens has unlimited mileage/8 year warranty, but after feb 2020 they went to 150k/8 years on the batteryLDU.

i have a gen 3 wall charger that is limited to 48A (with a 60A) breaker. Nice to know that the hardware will do more though. An 80A circuit was going to require a new subpanel.

I did the ccs on my 2019 MSP for $450, it is an upgrade of the on board gen 2 ECU to gen 3 ECU hardware. They throttled the amperage down to 48 from 80, but apparently they are much more reliable and they match the 3/Y fleet so might get better support over time.

You might want to run the vin. He doesn’t have the numbers right, might be honest mistake or he could be flipping it. The raven MSP does 0-60 in 2.3, has around 850hp, and a range of 330 with 21’s. Tesla has that same car with 14k miles and 10k used car warranty extension for $55k.
