    Tesla Owners in Alberta

I just got a prompt for an update for my MS. Anyone do the update yet? Opinions? I saw that the latest update in the States has AP restricted to just the speed limit on non-divided highways.

Any other P85D owners not get the firmware 2.9.40 update yet?

I haven't had any updates since the initial v7 release in the Fall.

Black Ice and Regen: bad combo?

My situation is not actually black ice but we just had a big dump of snow overnight. I found the regen to be disconcerting when I was trying to slowdown on icy roads. Turned regen to low and it is much better.

    Ludicrous Upgrade Scheduling?

I was all on board with the Ludicrous upgrade until I saw this. I have faith Tesla will make improvements to enhance the performance from what current testers are finding but this whole "max power" thing rubs me the wrong way. One of the best things I enjoy about my MS is the fact that I can...

Finally, a true test for P90DL vs P85D vs P85+

Because reliability, while important, doesn't get you viral videos of grandma's swearing when their son takes them for a spin in their new Model S.

I took my car to Tunerworks for an alignment (and rim repair after I curbed the driver side wheels pretty badly). According to them, they have the newest Hunter alignment machine in Calgary and it has really big wheel holders that won't damage/scratch our 21" rims.

Calling P85D owners world-wide for survey and complaint letter

This is where I have a problem with Tesla. I don't even have a problem with not having the "expected" performance @30mph+. It is not a conventional ICE so I'm fine with it not having the same power delivery characteristics as one. Where I do have a problem is where there is no way to actually...

    Cracked windshield!

I'm definitely going to try to repair it first. It's a cheap fix. If it doesn't work then I'll have to replace it. I'll keep everyone updated.

    Cracked windshield!

Well I'm going to try to get it repaired first I guess. The problem is the closest tesla service centre is in Vancouver. I'm in Calgary

    Cracked windshield!

I got a good size crack in my windshield. It's an interesting story but I'll get into that later. It will need to be replaced. Do I need to go to anywhere special to get this done? I'm assuming whoever I go to will need to order a windshield from Tesla.

P85D "Extra Firm" Ride - Love it or hate it?

I love it. This is the only car where both my wife and I enjoy the ride quality. I generally like a stiffer ride and my wife does not. My P85D strikes a perfect balance. If I were to track the car I would prefer it to be significantly stiffer.

Owners delivery stories, photos and first impressions

It's good enough for me. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch and mostly I listen to talk radio. I am very impressed with slacker though. I like how I get to choose songs and how good the playlists are.

Owners delivery stories, photos and first impressions

After a long, self-inflicted wait, I finally received my P85D last Thursday! I put I good 400km on the car over the weekend just to get acquainted before sending it to the shop for a full Xpel wrap and tint. I test drove a P85 in the fall so I had a pretty good idea of how the car works...

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

I've just had my car since Thursday so I don't have a experience pool to draw from but so far so good. The 21's do make me a bit nervous and I have found that I have avoided trying to park parallel to curbs. When I have had to park next to a curb I am pretty far out compared to my other cars...

    Got my wheels fixed! (Calgary)

    Good to know. Thanks!

In case anyone was worried about Tesla sales volumes ...

My P85D was production complete and "in transit from the factory" since the end of March. Vancouver seems to be the bottleneck as my DS told me they were swamped and couldn't even get my car there for PDI until they had more room. It eventually did but it took a month for my car to make it to...

    Got my wheels fixed! (Calgary)

That is excellent. I should have those guys on speed dial. Just a matter of time before I get some curb rash on my 21" turbines. $100/wheel and they come to your house? How long did it take?

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

My car is apparently still in Fremont :mad: the dashboard indicated it was completed and "in transit" since March 31st. I tried to be patient but got fed up and emailed my DS last night. Apparently he had a medical emergency but one of the other DS's contacted me today and said my car was...

I agree. At least a free detail or something. Refine will be busy with Tesla's for the next month. In2oil's next week then McMuggets and mine back to back at the end of the month. They should have lots of practice by the time they get to mine!

I don't know if this is something new or something I have simply never noticed on myTesla. At the bottom of my dashboard it has listed my store as being Vancouver Robson but my service centre is Calgary. It also has Red Deer supercharger listed as well. Thought I would share anyways.

My DS contacted me over the weekend. My car should be in Vancouver middle of April and I should get it soon after that! I'm planning to get Refine to wrap it. I'm going to get it tinted as well. Just wondering how much tint people have gone with and what they recommend. Planning to get the same...

Are these actual new colours for the MS? When will they be available? My car should go into production pretty soon I think. I wouldn't mind a metallic black. My scheduled delivery is "late April."

I found this on the forum a while ago: http://evsellc.com/ev-powershare.shtml I'm not sure if it is available or approved for use in Canada though. I called them and left a message a while ago but never heard back and I never followed up.

gpetti and 3s, It was very gracious of you guys to spend a bit of time on your Family Day to show us your cars. It was a terrible idea on my part though as it's going to make for an even longer wait until April. Spring meet in Canmore!

    Disappointed in app, features

I can't speak to this with any general accuracy but with the high demand and months of waiting to take delivery of a new order i would imagine you could get very close to what you paid for it. I know I would pay very close to full price to not have to wait until April to take delivery. I guess...

Calgary is getting a service center

This comes from the one conversation I had with Chris Bishop so take it with a grain of salt... When I asked him about the Calgary service centre he said it was coming soon but. In the mean time there should be no concerns because they offer free ranger service to their Calgary owners.
  37. H

Calgary is getting a service center

As I understand it, ranger service provided at no charge of you are a certain distance from a service centre.
  38. H

Calgary is getting a service center

Rangers might work really well but I can tell you that I would feel much better about owning a Tesla if there was a service centre here. I would say a service centre in Calgary would most definitely increase the number of MS around town. When I tell my friends I'm buying a MS they aren't so...

Calgary is getting a service center

When I talked to Chris Bishop in December after ordering my car he mentioned that he is moving to Calgary in the New Year to take care of the Alberta owners. When I specifically asked him about a Calgary service centre he wasn't as committal but said probably this summer. Gpetti, you should...

    Aftermarket Accessories I should order?

The LED license plate lights are so much nicer.
  41. H

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

I seriously considered those rims. By far the nicest I've seen for MS. For me the black on black is a little much. If my MS on order was any other colour Id get those rims.
  42. H

    Tesla Owners in Alberta

Maybe you can buy my 21" turbines in a year or two. The itch to go aftermarket will eventually get me I just haven't found anything I like yet.

Enthusiastic but realistic view of an electric car owner’s life in Québec, Canada.

Thank you for taking the time to posting that. It is very helpful to see the experiences of long time owners. I'm disappointed on the 50km loss of range in two years (over 11%). That seems like a lot. Have you talked to tesla about it?

With the rear facing seats you should wrap the back bumper in addition to the front of the car. At that point you might as well just wrap the rest of it.

Closing the single electronic frunk latch experience

The frunk the one concern I have with this car. You have an electronic frunk latch that will auto-close? Is this new or am I really misinterpreting this because I want to?

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

I had ordered the white alcantra headliner in my otherwise all black P85D. I changed it to a black headliner today after noticing the picture in the gallery that showed a big black bar running through the middle of the pano roof even with the white headliner.
