    Boise to Sun Valley

I'm considering taking my Model 85 S from Boise to Sun Valley via Rts 21 & 75. I'm concerned about range. Has anybody made this leg? There does not appear to be anyplace enroute to get even a little boost. EVTripPlanner says the "rated miles" is less than the ordinary miles, yet Sun Valley...

Recently introduced serious software bug [with auto wipers]

About 3 weeks ago our Model 3 wipers came on one am without any moisture on the windshield. To avoid damage to the windshield while trying to understand the cause, I turned the wipers fully off. Now, in light moisture, in mode 1, they run after wiping the windshield dry -- a real pain in...

    Post-6/2020 Model 3 USB ports

A friend bought a new Model 3, on 12/30/2020, and I'm puzzled as to where the USB ports are located. The Dashcam icon shows a red dot, but we have not, ourselves, put in a datastick. An aftermarket firm's photos seems to show 2 USB-A sockets and a 12V receptacle, for cars built after June...

    Detector for lost keys fobs?

After mislaying my key fob, an inquiry found a U-tube post showing how a Tesla car could identify that its keyfob was nearby suggested to me the following: If a Tesla car could recognize the proximity of an authorized key, couldn't a portable device that could identify the presence of a specific...

    Strut noise

Roger Bohl <[email protected]> 1:01 PM (4 minutes ago) For several weeks, I had been detecting a maddening, tiny "clicking" noise seemingly emanating from somewhere around the passenger seat of our "3". Noticeable when driving slowly, when the car "rolled" a bit -- side-side. I thought it...

    Strange window behavior

May be new "feature"??? A couple of days ago, after getting into my sun-heated car, I rolled down the front windows to circulate outside air quickly. Then, when I went to close them, the passenger window moved to the top and immediately rolled down!!??? I found that, after I stopped the car...

    "Stop" driving mode coming?

One of the best features of our '3" is the recently-made-available "Stop" mode, whereby the brake pedal is rarely used. It is always a shock when I drive our "S" and find so much less regenerative braking and have to use the brake pedal. It seems to me that the feature could be retrofitted to...

    ABC News audio irregularity

One of my usual audio choices is ABC news. However, for some time it has been exhibiting strange behavior, and I don't know whether it is the station or the car: Each piece is a 3-minute segment. But each segment repeats, just once, then advances to the next segment. Does your "3" exhibit...

    Market share

In the SF Bay Area of CA, Tesla seem to be everywhere!. I would love to see information on Tesla's share of existing cars on the road, as well as Tesla's share of new car registrations in areas such as CA, where Tesla support, consumer openmindedness and other factors provide a fertile market...

    Tesla market share

Does anybody have data on Tesla's market share in those areas where sales and distribution are not restricted? (In the San Francisco area, Tesla's are everywhere!)

    Chimes -- all the time

Since the Version 9 update was installed, I'm getting chimes -- chimes -- chimes. Sometimes when there's a car nearby, but most often without any evident cause. Perhaps an average of one chime every two minutes. Any explanation? (I drive our S less, so can't comment on whether the S has the...

    Visor repair 2014 Model S

My wife broke the hinge on the visor mirror cover, but if I could remove the cover I could probably repair it. Does anybody know how to remove the visor from the body and how to remove the mirror cover from the visor?

Seeking Model 3 owner in Boston area (preferably south of Boston)

My daughter and son-in-law, in Brockton, MA, want to utilize my second Model 3 reservation but need to ascertain whether, with his bad back, how he fits in the seat. If you have a Model 3 and would be willing to have him drive to you to try out the seat, please call me, at (CA) 707-939-8459...

    Rear view interior mirror

I find the inside rear view mirror to be unacceptably small. From any seating position, one can see to the limit of what is visible through the rear window. But when I move my head just slightly, I can't see the entire rear window. Does anyone else find this disconcerting?

    NEMA 14-50 cover plate

My son asked his contractor to arrange for 14-50 outlet. Instead of a surface mount, he installed a standard, plastic 4" box, and none too well -- it wiggles a bit. We installed the outlet, but the 4" galvanized 14-50 box does not fill the 4-1/2" hole the contractor cut in the sheetrock. Is...

    Door handle glitch

My driver-side rear door will not fully unlatch (lost of the time) when the front door is open more than a few inches. This occurs because a "sliding" sound (solenoid) that normally is heard from aft of the door (when the presented rear door handle is pulled) does not occur. This is not a...

    "Rear grille" needed.

I'm looking for a "rear grille" -- the shiny plastic part below the rear bumper. Any suggestions? Is there a "site" where such parts might be available? [email protected]

    Supecharger capacity utilization

Learned from Tesla telephone support 12-16-2015: Up to 5 miles of range for each charging minute may be available at a Supercharger. However, capacity is provided to pairs of charging "slots" and if one of the slots is is active use, the "companion" slot may (will?) not find that rate of...
