    Service history for used Tesla

Tesla WON'T tell you. They choose not to by hiding behind GDPR, which is nonsense as you're not after anything personal. It's a rubbish rule, but if you weren't able to get anything at point of purchase you won't get anything now, 6 weeks after. Been there, tried that, save yourself some time...

Not sure what answer you're after? You set in the app (and can change this setting multiple times in a day if you like) that you would like you car charged to x% by y o'clock. If there are enough hours in the day Octopus will do their damnedest to meet that request, including giving more than...

@MrBadger if IO triggers the charge it is always at off peak rate. End of discussion. I really don't know why you're trying to over complicate things.

I'd be checking your charger settings, make sure it is completely "dumb"
  7. SteveJol

Does it matter what charger I pay

Agreed, depends what state of charge you're starting with. For me day to day use I've not had a situation where state of charge and target charge percentage would involve the charge starting pre off peak. YMMV

Tesla one works brilliantly for me, can't say I read a great deal of reviews so didn't know it was badly reviewed? Tesla don't install so you need to source your own leccy (or use one from their preferred installer list who are all quite expensive), mine ended up at £800 installed so can be far...

IO works when you accurately set the charge rate to what your charger is capable of. Telling IO your charger is 2.4 then limiting it to 1.9 is where all your problems lie.

If IO wants to start it will, doesn't matter what you have set in the car. And yes, IO will set a schedule again if you need to unplug and replug.

Would a m3 work for me or should I stick to a diesel

The benefit in kind saving I would say that on longer journeys experience in an air suspension MS vs the coil suspension M3 or MY that the OP is considering is not comparable.

I have my departure time mirroring what I have set in IO, both are 8am. Don't envisage 7am being an issue.
  17. SteveJol

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

No, IO does it's thing regardless. Set your car off peak to 5.30 and forget about it (safe in the knowledge the car won't instigate charge after that time). IO will still start after this time if it wants to.
  18. SteveJol

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

I don't know the answer to your specific question, but why set the off-peak to 7am when IO's guaranteed slot only runs to 5.30?

Without being rude, it literally works for everyone else who follows it as described, so I'd hazard a guess that it's user error more than anything else.

No idea what youve been told. I can only guess they are telling you the expected average costs based on your usage. I don't see any Octopus tariff with 36/10 peak/off peak) charging.

To "Sentry" or not to "Sentry"....that is the question

Probably easier to drop family and luggage around the corner, nip back home to drop off the car and then order cab from the corner of a random street.

    Door Armrest After Market products?

Anyone know of any reseller selling an accessory for the driver side door Armrest? I have a 2018 MS, and the door side armrest is rock solid, with no cushioning. I can't be the only one who'd be in the market for some sort of made to measure stick on cushioning?

    Unprovoked road rage...

I do have fun with ICE cars when they P me off. I recall one time on a busy motorway, cars doing no more than 55 in the top overtaking lane, but going faster than the other lanes so justifiably using the 3rd lane. I've left a decent gap between me and the car in front, yet Audi right up my rear...

    EV Charger Options

TBH for me that's standard kit for a sparky, I wouldn't be trusting any spark that didn't have the test kit you describe, RCD are commonplace and anyone who has ever installed a modern day consumer unit would have this, if they don't they aren't really fit to be called a sparky.
  30. SteveJol

    EV Charger Options

There's no specialist kit or training needed. It's just running cable and a new RCD in the meter box (in most instances).

    EV Charger Options

If you know a decent electrician the install can be cheap if straight forward. I wanted the Tesla charger for aesthetics, I paid £425 for the charger direct from Tesla and just under £400 for the install (simple install as charger is located right next to meter box). So under £825 all in.

Tyre Blow Out on 7 mth old Model 3 …. Not happy

It's called a blowout for a reason. It's not a slow deflation where the car could warn you, it's an immediate blowout, done in an instant with no potential for pre warning. Its a scary experience. You either need to quit driving and being a passenger in any car road vehicle ever or get back on...

I think the key point is, when your registered car is plugged in IO will control it. That's it, that's the only requirement. You can charge whatever else you want, including other EVs, whenever you want, peak if you like, off peak and benefitting from the lower rates allowed too.
  35. SteveJol

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

Shouldn't do, all the half hour readings are stored in the meter, so once the connection restablishes the whole data set will be there.

Was working out a daily rate (hence the divide by 7), why charge only once a week bleeding into peak times when you can spread the 60 kWh throughout the week and benefit from off peak?
  38. SteveJol

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

    So if I'm reading right thats around 8 kWh non EV use per day plus 60 kWh EV charging per week? 8 x 44.35p = £3.54 non EV 60/7 x 10p = £0.86 EV 37.38p standing charge £4.77 on IO per day Versus 8 x 35.8p = £2.86 non EV 60/7 x 35.8p = £3.07 EV 31.51p standing charge £6.24 on the price cap...

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

I'm intrigued by the statement that IO would be more expensive for your use case. Are you a particularly low EV user or really high daytime electricity user? E.g. I only charge 3 times a week at about 20 kWh a piece. I'm finding myself waaaay better off on IO.

    Myenergi Libbi Battery

Just seen this video, looks like another entrant into the battery market in the UK vs Tesla and Givenergy. Prices start at "£4595+vat (excluding installation)" according to the website, that's probably for the base inverter + 5kwh battery. https://myenergi.com/libbi/ Hopefully more...

    Purchased a used Model X from Tesla - Issues/concern

I'd second this. Buying used from Tesla is clearly a harrowing experience, but these are all consumable parts. Another 5 year old will have part worn equivalents, you'll end up with brand new components. Whilst the experience has not been ideal the outcome seems reasonable.

Good luck with the sale! Out of interest, what's the new EV you're going for?
  45. SteveJol

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

No, this isn't how it works. Setting off peak charging just tells the Tesla not to start charging immediately, the car will plan to start charging later in order to stop by 5:30. That is all the off peak setting does. IO takes over from here, IO can start your charge at any time it deems...
  46. SteveJol

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

Fair play to you. I just don't understand why you'd persist with the 15/20 second per time activity of activily stopping it rather than a one time set and forget method. Different minds wired different ways I guess, for me the ridiculously minor efficiency gain is a "win", one less thing to...
  47. SteveJol

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

I believe there is a misunderstanding of what IO wants to do. All IO wants is to control when the car starts and stops charging. None of what Skie says prevents this and is absolutely not against IO's intentions at all. The only thing this suggestion does is stop the immediate charge the Tesla...

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

It's not your car misbehaving, it's Octopus. You plug your car in and your car starts the charge, doing exactly what it should do. Personally I don't understand this mentality.
