Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I'm currently in the market for a Used Model S (Refresh). Are you able to share more about your experience with autotempest? Were you only searching local to you or did you expand your search?
If you had experience buying out of state, I'd love to hear about that as well. I have a trade-in, but...
I just saw it as well and it's a lot more intriguing to me now that it's half off... I don't necessarily care about autopilot on city. Can you upgrade from EAP to FSD by paying the difference?
When you get a VIN, the financing and trade-in options start getting opened back up. Once this is all done, you will get a MVPA which is equivalent to a Buyer's Order / Bill of Sale. This is what your loan provider will need and typically it happens a few days to a week before delivery. So yes...
Yes text them and see if you can get ahold of someone over the phone. Stopping by your local store will probably be another alternative, but that's a bit more time commitment.
Are you able to share more about your experience?
When they dropped my car off, they were telling me that they used to do 6-7 home deliveries a day, not including in-store pickups. So it seems that Lyndhurst is honestly a little goldmine right now.
You'll get your trade-in credit for taxes, it'll just show up in the final MVPA. Same thing happened to me but the final MVPA had it fixed.
EDIT: Whoops didn't see your second reply.
I have an order date of 5/06 and took delivery today. Looks like the dealership accidentally included the mobile connector kit. I'll take it, I imagine they haven't started dealing with too many of these orders yet.
You have a VIN right? In that case, it has to be built already. Communicating with anyone over text always seems to be a lost cause for me. I've had plenty of questions ignored as well. My SA is fantastic via email and has gotten back to me quick during the business day.
Do you think the wheel covers impact efficiency enough to be persuaded in that direction? I was hoping resistance on the wheel from air would be minimal and not impactful, but this is a great point to consider.
Wow this is great, thank you! In the spirit of answering my own question, I'll be...
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to see what aftermarket choices MYP owners will have when looking for a wheel / tire package to maximize range. I wanted to buy a second set of tires to hopefully accomplish that by getting the MYP closer to MYLR in terms of battery range. The idea is to have these...
From what I've seen, it's generic. I got mine exactly 10 days before the start of my EDD. Although it didn't matter for me, it's probably best to wait to fill out that info after you receive a VIN.
I reached out to my SA for the MVPA and finally got it. Looks like my credit union finalized the loan today and is overnighting the check. So I think I'm all set for delivery on Monday! Looking forward to hearing about your experiences when you pick up @Yperformance !
My delivery is scheduled for the 6th and it's a home delivery from Lyndhurst. I am planning on using any of the checklists I can find here including this one: GitHub - polymorphic/tesla-model-y-checklist: Checklist for Tesla Model Y
Yeah I was counting at least 3-4 people in May on the NEO FB group that said they received their VINs within a few weeks tops. With at least one of them being an MYLR. I imagine there's more, but it's a pretty small group.
It does seem that it's mostly orders for Q2 that are getting fulfilled...
Yeah that looks brand spanking new probably created very recently. I was seeing as high as F457 a few days ago. Congrats on the quick turnaround. One small benefit of being close to the Cleveland area. :p
I don't think they are trolling. The Northeast Ohio facebook group has been talking about quick turnarounds recently. I can confirm from personal experience as well.
I don't think so. Usually a 2 week delivery time means it's getting transported. What's your VIN group? Mine's F448. I placed my order on the 6th and got a VIN in like 16 days or something. I think Cleveland is just blessed to have a very short order queue. I was reading on the facebook group...
The Model Y is a mass produced car. I think if you're looking for rarity and having one of a few, you might want to look into another car instead. Tesla sold a combined 300,000 Model 3/Ys last year and 55,000 estimated Model Y as of April 7(?) of this year.
I still haven't received a final MVPA to send to my credit union, despite getting a VIN very early last week and having all the paperwork done by Wednesday. I'm a little expecting to be delayed, but who know since I'm getting mine a few days after you.
Sorry to everyone here, I am completely intruding on this thread being out of State. I got a quote for around $1300 for 80ft run for what it's worth, but I'm in Cleveland.
I saw mine exactly 10 days before the start of my EDD around 1pm ET. So it might be a batch of automated texts. People were telling me not to get my hopes up, but plenty of people who got the trade in text and then VIN within a few days.
So as usual, it's a crapshoot
Are people getting home deliveries or store pickups? I'm slightly confused that they opted for a home delivery even though the store is only 20 minutes away.
Oh boy, this is quite a topic on this forum.
The best advice that I can give about this is to fill out the registration information ASAP, set yourself to no-trade in (even if you have one), and set yourself to cash payment. This will prevent you from having to renew your trade-in offer...
I am completely speculating here but I imagine they are only shipping to the Austin area because it'll be easier to resolve battery related issues at the factory as opposed to a random service center. To me this feels like you spending not that much less than a MYLR to be a beta tester for their...
Unfortunately the only thing my SA could confirm is that my build included All-Season tires. I think with you being in Canada, you should probably get them included as well. Would love to hear back if you're able to extract any more information :)
F448 MYP VIN here as well and my SA confirmed that I was getting all-season tires. This was the same SA that told me that Performance editions come with Summer tires only. I think it really depends on if the SA actually pulled up your config to confirm, which we can never be sure who is actually...
I think someone else picking up from Ohio is got their black/black MYP VIN yesterday as well, which is why I think your chances of getting a VIN are good this week. Of course as you said, it's all a crapshoot :(
My MYP black/black VIN was assigned yesterday with an EDD between May 30 - June 13 that is now a 3 day window. I think VINs are still being rolled out! You might have some good luck in these next few days with your 2 week range :)
I was assigned a 448 VIN yesterday. I think it makes sense though because Tesla produced 290k Model 3/Ys in Q1 2022. Source: Tesla Vehicle Production & Deliveries and Date for Financial Results & Webcast for First Quarter 2022 | Tesla Investor Relations
This may not mean much since you already had a 2-week window, but I like your chances now. My 2 week window from May 30 - June 13 finally got down to a 3 day window with a VIN yesterday. I'm in Ohio as well.
What type of interior changes were you trying to make with those color choices? I'm thinking of doing a Deep Space wrap and looking into getting the red seats from Tsportsline and some alcantara panels inside.
