No - I'll be paying the invoice within the next 24 hours. My delivery window was already up to 16 December. I looked at the app a while after the phone call from Tesla, and it had updated to show the appointment details.

Better than an SMS - this morning I got a phone call from a nice lady at Tesla. I'll be picking up the car on Friday. 🙂

When you get your SMS to arrange delivery is probably down to the order in which the ship was loaded in Shanghai, then unloaded in Australia, and the order in which cars were picked up from the dock and taken for pre-delivery. In other words, after those three events it’s pretty much random.

Yep, my EDD has extended as far as 13 December. Not surprising given the delay at the port.

I wonder how the weight distribution of the AWD 3 compares to that of the RWD 3? The AWD has a motor up front so even if the two cars weigh about the same, the balance is likely to be different.

Those of you who've recently got a delivery date (congratulations!) - how were you notified? Did you get an email or text message from Tesla, or did you find out when you happened to log into your account? Or was it a notification via the app?

On the subject of modifications, the other day I saw a black M3 with horizontal pink striping along the lower doors. This striping had cut-outs with the word "Tesla" showing through in body colour, and stylised lightning bolts on either side. Tasteful as anything. 🤣
