Squeaky /creaky driver's seat issue identified

Thanks for posting this. When someone is seated in the front passenger seat and I take a turn, I hear the same sound.

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

In my experience, I had the option of declining once I received a text/email notification that my vehicle/VIN is available. No dealer visit.
  4. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

You'll get a text/phone call. At that time you can decline. I believe you can decline three times.

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

They have received your vehicle and a pre-inspection is performed. If something doesn't meet "tolerance levels" you'll be notified. In the past, one had three days to pickup the vehicle. I see that has been extended to at least a week. Good for you....and Tesla.

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

My transactions were all paperless. One presses the "accept" button on the app. In my area, one has to accept before doing an internal inspection. I am lucky in that there was nothing to correct in any of my five transactions. My only complaint is that they could have been charged to 80% instead...

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

That's new. I'm glad they're accepting personal checks now. Much more convenient.

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

All my transactions were done without meeting/seeing anyone at, Tesla. My financing was done outside of Tesla financing and I had a very good finance rep who was on top of things. The only time I've noticed where you'll need to meet with a Tesla rep is if you need to provide a down payment and...

Just the local Tesla OR the nat'l number. You'll get a live person for sure that can assist.

    Battery Charge Level Upon Delivery?

I've had five deliveries in CA and they were charged between 50 - 60%. So, be prepared. Like what was suggested, map your charging stations now.

    LED rear reflector turn signals

Just finished the install on this and found a much, much, much easier way. No removing of tail lights, no partial removal of bumper or wheel-well liner and no drilling. Probably did the install in about 15 minutes. Sorry no pictures. Pull the plastic that surrounds the trunk latch. Remove the...

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

I paid as soon as I received my scheduled pick up day. I've never heard of a car suddenly disappearing because the VIN has been assigned to you. If you don't respond to an email/text in a timely manner, I can see Tesla giving yoit VIN to someone else.
  13. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

As soon as you know your delivery date, you should be able to procure financing in minutes. I wouldn't hesitate.
  14. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

Always purchased new from Tesla. If one wishs to purchase used directly from Tesla, one has to check the site daily and click the "buy now" button.
  15. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

You should have received a, "Welcome to the Tesla family" email.
  16. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

Call the nearest Tesla showroom to you. If they don't answer, you'll be transfered to a phone bank.
  17. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

Yes. They will ask to verify if you're paying cash. At that time, you can tell them that you've changed your mind and that you'd like to lease. I don't know if there are any ad/disadvantages to informing them sooner. You might want to call with a "hypothetical" question.
  18. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

Your generic texts are highly likely from an SA at your nearest service center. I would call your nearest service center for more info. If no one answers there, your call will be routed to a "phone bank" and they'll be able to answer any questions that you may have.

    Nightmare purchase process so far

What a horrible experience. I'm sure you documented everything and took photos. I would definitely contact the manager of your nearest service center and even regional manager. I'm really sorry this happened to you. I hope Lucid takes good notes.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Saw the Lucid last weekend. Stats blow Tesla out of the water but it will cost you a pretty penny.
  21. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

I don't think it could be done across state lines. Your specs are matched to vehicles arriving to your designated pick-up/delivery site. If you've established a good relationship with your SA or someone at that site, you could ask them to match your specs from another site in your region and...
  22. E

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

You can wait until you receive your VIN. Paying sooner won't move you up in the queue. Just make sure you have your payment/financing ready.

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

Your ED is roughly correct. I would expect it in April more than May. Trade-in evaluations expire and are renewed (if you choose) every 30 days. I would add the trade-in and casually find out what other offers are out there. Once you obtain a VIN, start the ball rolling on the financing as...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

You have a couple of options and it depends on your bank. 1. Don't tell your bank, yet. If your replacement is exactly the same as the original, you can tell your bank to update the VIN once you get the replacement. You can just tell them that the first one was damaged and Tesla took too long...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Orders are usually fulfiilled at the end of the quarter you ordered in OR about 8 weeks after your order. Your latest ED seems right.

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

Depending on how busy your service center is, you’ll either get a Tesla loaner or Uber credits. No matter what you get, slip the advisor a Starbucks GC or a GC from a nearby dining establishment. This will help for the next visit.

You would think the process would streamlined and efficient after more than a decade.

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

Last year, I wasn't able to provide a current photo of my wife's driver's license because she had misplaced it. When I texted Tesla they said to do one of two things; provide a photo of any ID with her photo on it or just have one registered owner and add the second later. I added her work ID...

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

Check the torque on your wheel lugs. As with previous orders, the lugs were short of spec anywhere from half a 1/4 turn to a full turn. When my brother brought his by a few weeks ago, his were the same. Probably not a big deal but it shouldn't happen. 129 ft. lbs is spec.

What I learned about the buying process from Ordering to Delivery

Yes, pre-November I believe. Received the class-action post card. Never had a problem with it as with Venmo, as with Paypal, as with Zelle, as with Samsung Pay, as with Google pay...may haunt me later. Lol!

    PSA: Bed in your brakes

I tried using the brake and accelerator simultaneously and much to my surprise it worked. A nasty-gram appeared saying something like 'motor torque disengaged, manual braking only.' My rotors look like yours now.

  38. E

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

You should have received an email from your "primary" advisor. If you didn't get one, I would call the service center closest to you for answers to your questions. If you don't get anyone there, the call will be forwarded to a "phone bank" where you can get assistance as well.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I've been texted, emailed and called in previous purchases.
  40. E

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

You're close when your range drops down to two weeks and then one week. Your due date is usually at the end of the quarter that you ordered in. If you ordered in Jan, you should be getting yours in mid/end March.

    PSA: Bed in your brakes

Assuming that the brake pads are also from Brembo, here is Brembo's bedding/break-in procedure; The discs are delivered with a thin zinc coating to prevent corrosion. Prior to beginning the bedding procedure, this plating must be removed from the braking surfaces by driving the car slowly...

For those in SoCal picking up in Burbank

If I recall, shipments arrive 2-3 times a week (M-Tu-We/Th). Based on your OD, yours probably won't arrive until mid/end of March.
