    Yeah... fair. :-) I meant the "+" to cover the higher side. I'm getting old. I've had some amazing cars (7 BMWs (2x M3, M5), Ferrari, Tesla etc.) and I've never paid over $40k for a car. But I'm starting to realize that if I want something great I may have to pony up more $$. :-)

    The SC completed their remote analysis - They say that it appears that it needs a new drive unit - motor. However, they of course can't be sure until the car is there with them. I'm working on finding a towing service <$500. IF it is the motor, does anyone know how that's handled financially...

    I've been chatting with the SC. I told them that I can get the car online by jumping it - their first response was that the HV system may be non-functional and putting a drain on the 12v battery. Great. They are pulling info from the car now. Will update when they let me know something.

    Interesting - I didn't know that. I'm going to delay my appointment with Tesla until I get the battery swapped. They replaced the contactors under warranty 8 months ago. Maybe I got lucky and they messed that up. :-)

    I disabled tow mode to try to charge it but no dice. I put it back into tow mode in case the computers don't turn on again. It's a 2013, bought it 8 months ago with 38k miles. Has 51k now. I really hope Tesla covers this. I know they don't legally have to but this will for sure put a bad taste...

    It is in park - won't go into any other position. I ordered a new battery. I'd love for this to be the problem but the car does the same thing when I have it jumped.

    Got it into tow mode and was going to try it but the charger port won't unlock. The door opens but the lock is preventing it from accepting the cable. Good times. :-)

    The displays are turning on now. It's showing the main battery at 98 miles. I'll go put it in tow mode... not sure if I should put it on the charger. I'm waiting to see what the service center has to say.

    The 12v battery is currently showing 11.7 volts. I have it on the charger and it seems to be taking a charge. I'd love for it to be the 12v battery but no way would it just shut down and have to be towed b/c it was 11.7 volts right? I'm guessing it's low because the main batteries haven't been...

    The ESA doesn't cover the battery unfortunately. I can't find my voltmeter but I can tell that the 12v battery is low by testing an accessory plugged into the lighter. I jumped the car through the terminals in the front and it came online when I pressed the brake. Still has a few errors such...

    I can't speak to that - They want me to have it towed to Memphis (3 hours away). If it's just that battery then great. But the car was VERY unhappy. The car stayed on for about 15 min but once it shut down, no getting it back on. Does a 12v failure act like that? The drive system completely shut...

    Acceleration Reduced.... new problem

    All - Just an update. Tesla is now saying its the contactors and will replace under warranty. 2013 P85 w/ 40k miles for data gathering purposes.

    My 2013 S that just turned 40k miles just got this error. Tesla support was great but they told me that the part that was bad wasn't covered under warranty. The service center hasn't called me yet but I'm not happy. I bought this car instead of an M5 because I didn't want to deal with the pain...

    I'm sure that this has been discussed before but I couldn't find it with search. I'm looking at purchasing a new 85 and am looking at all costs involved. One of them is depreciation / resale value. I typically buy used high end cars and save a lot of money doing so. Searching for used Tesla's...
