San Diego Area Superchargers (location speculation)

I was at the San Diego Service Center yesterday (getting typically fantastic 24,000 mile service on the car). They said that the Super Charger team spent last weekend in San Diego looking for sites. They hadn't picked anything yet, but were looking at areas such as the 8 at the 15, downtown...

    A most unfortunate event :-(

So glad that you both seem to be okay. The interior protection really does seem amazing. Curious as to why you're thinking textile for your next MS? I've got textile seats in my MS and I really like them, but I was thinking of going to leather for the MX I have on order (yes, I know, I have...

How do you know which is charger 4a? I haven't been there yet, but plan to in a few months.

Nice to see that there's still an open station on a holiday weekend! Thanks for the photo!

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

I keep looking expectantly on the nav map and it hasn't popped up yet. This is so exciting even though I'll only use it a few times a year. But it will make such a difference in peace of mind those few times I use it!

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

It would be great for those of you that will be using the SC regularly to post and let us know if you run into waits, ICEing, etc. I will only use this SC a few times a year, so having an idea in advance of whether to expect a Hawthorne type of experience will be great.

    Regrets?

Love my MS60 and have put 10,000 miles on her in 4 months. The only minor things I MIGHT change: getting the yacht floor (love the open space but the carpet is difficult to clean, even with a vacuum) and maybe adding the spoiler. Every day I decide I want a different color, but since there...

San Diego Area Superchargers (location speculation)

Fashion Valley is also a parking nightmare, so if I were the betting type I'd take you up on it. Given that I'm not, I'll just say I hope they're considering the ICEing potential of any spot before building.

San Diego Area Superchargers (location speculation)

The parking at UTC is a mess most of the time. Any spots set aside for a SC at UTC would be constantly ICE'd. Maybe Mission Valley or Fashion Valley Malls?

Tesla Rear Window Shade Review and Photos

Yes, it twists back up to fit in the Tesla bag that it comes in (very similar size and shape to the mobile connector adapter bag that comes with the MS). - - - Updated - - - Hmmm, I'm not sure. I keep asking the kids the difference and they say it's "lots better", but that's about as specific...

Tesla Rear Window Shade Review and Photos

So I've been eagerly awaiting the availability of the Tesla sunshade, as I have rear facing seats which my kids love, except we live in SoCal and it gets bright and warm back there. The day I noticed the price for the sunshade, I ordered it...

    Tesla moments

Yesterday, there was construction closing a lane. I had my signal on to go into the other lane (while at a stoplight). The guy next to me gestures like crazy for to me to role down my window. I do, and he says "Since you're in a Tesla, and it's such a beautiful car, you can go ahead of me!"...

    Motion Sickness (3rd Row)

I have 3 kids and at least one preferentially rides in the rear seats every time we go somewhere. We also have a daily carpool, and the kids that have used the seats range from 5 years old to 12 years old (who is my own son, well over the weight limit, and just about 5 feet tall). I'm excited...

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

Congratulations!!!! I got mine Dec. 20th, and this owner (who previous hated to drive) has already racked up close to 3,000 miles! Doesn't it just wipe away any doubts you had with every mile?

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

Why not top off at the new chargers at the SD service center? Or at UTC? There's lots of options in San Diego. I bet SJC will be up and running by your trip though.

For those with small garages -- do you back in?

I have a very narrow garage and was born without binocular vision/depth perception. I back in, using power folding mirrors, rear view camera and parking sensors. I'm super glad I have all 3 aides.

Supercharger - San Juan Capistrano, CA (7 V2 stalls)

Well that's a bummer. I'm guessing a big corporation like union bank won't be efficient granting the easement. On the other hand, it seems like tesla is good at getting these stations installed quickly and it's hard to believe that they would have put this much time and cost into this site if...

    Pearl White vs Grey

Here's a superficial thing that swayed me that might comfort you a bit. I hadn't really considered the grey (I had first ordered pearl white) until I read a post on one of the forums. Someone had told a poster "That looks like a car James Bond would drive". Considering I'm a mom with three...

Care for leather seats? + How do the Tesla all-weather mats look IRL?

I have the all weather mats from Tesla and am a bit disappointed. They are flimsier than the all weather mats I had for my Land Rover and seem to attract dirt and are harder to clean. I vacuum and then have to wipe them with a damp cloth, and they seem to get dirty again within seconds. With...

    Pearl White vs Grey

It's so funny, I have to agree that in some lights the grey doesn't look great. It looks too "flat". Mostly inside (parking garages, etc). But I think even if you don't love it sometimes, you're exactly right about the black. The black doesn't stand out to me to make people take a second...

    Pearl White vs Grey

I originally ordered pearl white, then changed it to metallic grey when most of the Teslas I saw around town were white. I am SO happy with the decision. The metallic grey is like having 3 different cars. In some lights, it looks grey. In some, it looks silver. And in some is look french...

How do these Leaf owners make it work with their limited range? I see a ton of them on the road here in SoCal.

Should I trust ChargePoint customer service?

There's a ChargePoint station I'm planning on using next month at the Kohl's in Ontario, CA (actually going to an event at the Ontario Arena, but they have nothing). PlugShare/Recargo have many check-ins that say that the J1772 isn't functional, only the 120. I emailed ChargePoint to...

December / Late December delivery (2013) VINs?

Any surprises so far? Are you considering tinting the windows? I need to tint the rear window because there's no ventilation in the back for the rear facing seats. I found a name on the So Cal forum at teslamotors.com, but the guy hasn't called me back and his email doesn't work. Let me know...

New owner with very slow 240V charging

Thanks so much everyone! I made sure the cable was securely plugged into the wall as well as the Tesla, and it's charging at 40A at a rate of 26 miles/hour. Much better! It's weird, because I always wait to hear the click, and heard one last night. Of course, it was the end of a long shift at...

New owner with very slow 240V charging

Wow, you are all awesome! Thanks so much for the quick replies. I'll make sure the cable is fully inserted tonight and if it's still slow I'll take a photo and post it. Thanks again!

New owner with very slow 240V charging

I came home from work at 2 am and plugged into the 240V. I have my charging set to begin at midnight so the car began charging immediately. I took a loot at my app and noted that it needed 6 hrs 22 min to replace the 69 rated miles I had used! It looks like the car is only charging 11 rated...

    It arrived!!!

Oooh, good one! The thing that really makes me think of Apple with this car is the way Steve Jobs approached everything. He always felt he knew better than the consumer, and made products in that way (e.g. getting rid of the physical keyboard). An example in the Tesla in the center console...

December / Late December delivery (2013) VINs?

Congratulations!!!!! Sounds like an awesome day worthy of the wait! It's been an interesting few days for me, and I'm guessing it will be for you, too. In life, often when we have high expectations, we are disappointed (think about a great movie you've heard about, or Christmas Day, or an...

    60 vs 85

I just got mine and was really concerned about the 60, but wasn't willing to put out the extra $8,000 (I got supercharging enabled) for the 85. So far, I'm really happy with my choice. I'm only charging daily to 70/75% and I've still had tons of miles left over. There will be a few day trips...

About to confirm order - a few questions

I just got mine, it's grey with black textile interior. I got piano because I didn't like anything else. I was surprised that I didn't love it when I got the car. I still think it was the right choice for me because I didn't like the other trims, but I would have considered the other ones...

    Cloth or Leather seats

I just go my MS 2 days ago and it has black textile. It's the first time I've ever had black interior and the first non-leather seats I've had in over a decade. I decided to try dark textile as I have 3 kids who wore down my last car's tan leather seats. I had never seen the black textile...

December / Late December delivery (2013) VINs?

I got it! The car actually arrived on the transporter after I did, and the service center worked like mad to get the car charged a bit (to 107 miles), washed (with a promise to detail next week) and get me out in time to pick up my kids. Everyone was incredibly nice and helpful, and really...
