Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
We should have traded out all the MPP parts from my car to yours before I sold it. You would be hard to beat in full EVX!
See you at OCCC on your fresh 660s. You are going down!
Do it!! This car is so fun!
I will be putting hoosiers on it at some point. Not sure if it fits in SSP or SSR, but either way I think it will be competitive on hoosiers. I have three events now on a fresh set of stones and it doesn't suck. I got my buddy in his GT3 on a short course and got top...
I sold the M3P but I am still lurking. Congrats to all on EVX at nationals! I signed up a day late and was 80th on the wait list and didn't get in.
I am going to be doing nationals, and as many tour events as I can, next year in my SS built C8 vette. This car is fun? Say hi if you see me.
Done. I just had all the GM recommended track prep done, which includes the alignment with 3 deg front and 2 deg rear neg camber. Front sway bar is going on this week. Did I mention the sound?
The tesla so far. I have had the vette at 2 events to far on PS4S's and on those tires it understeers hard. But, even with those tires it's mid pack in the local SS class filled with GT3s and 4s. Forged wheels, RE-71RS's and front sway bar are on the way. I have a feeling it will transform the...
Traded the tesla in on a C8 Vette (on the list for the ERAY). I need to sell 4 Konig Hypergram Matte Grey Wheels 18x9.5 5x114.3 35mm with Yokohama A052 275/40-18. I used these wheels for a couple years in EVX. The wheels have some cosmetic issues but are not damaged in any way. Tires probably...
Double header weekend at Daytona. Saturday I managed top PAX (2nd RAW) and Sunday I ended up 5th in PAX (6th RAW). This event is held on the cart track in the speedway infield. Reverse direction between the days. Some amazing cars showed up. Super happy with the results. Fun weekend.
I'm thinking about getting the solo storm software. Has anyone used a obd scanner with solo storm? I guess I could connect it like the "scan my tesla" shows with adapter harness, but I'm not sure if there would be any useful data for the solo storm software?
I think they a wearing great, and I push them pretty hard on the street. I have a dedicated track and autox setup so the advans don't see that kind of aggression, but I'm not easy on them.
They haven't hydroplaned or anything crazy in our Florida heavy rains.
I have approx 5k miles on the advan V601 265/35-19. They check all of your boxes. I also have the same tires on a civic type r with about 10k miles on them and they are the reason I went with them on the MP3.
I can't speak to the indy 500's.
Grassroots Motorsports annual $2000 budget build event opened up to any car this year. Super fun format with classes based on tire width. Some FAST guys showed up! There was an autocross and a drag race. The under budget cars also had a judged build contest that played into their standings. My...
On a different note I pulled one out of my ass. With the open wheel formula cars on hoosiers in my region a door banger never gets top raw. That one felt good!
The problem for me personally is the course design. My local events have shorter courses with tight corners where the M3P can make use of the insta torque. The longer courses of the national tour, for me, don't offer the same advantages. I went to the red hills national tour stop in south...
Yes, David Marcus is fast. He is my region and I have competed with him quite a bit. He is about impossible to beat in PAX with his .814 when you can BARELY out RAW him. This year's EV-X .835 is stupid.
David was my instructor at APEX performance driving school and in my car crushed me by 5 sec...
I am not sure if this helps or hurts the PAX calculations, or if regional clubs are even considered, but I am sitting 4 in PAX in the central Florida SCCA region right now. This puts me first in trophies as the three guys ahead of me don't have enough qualifying events.
1 = ES
2 = SS
3 = FS
4 = EV
I'm on titan7 S5 19x9.5 with 265/35 yokos. TI lug nuts. Took a very small hit on range but I don't care, the car rides great. Also, lowered 1.5 inch on MPP adjustable sport coilovers.
Tesla autocross world (ok, regional) domination continues. Saturday and Sunday were back to back events on the go-kart track in the infield of the Daytona raceway. Not a parking lot of cones but more of a mini track sprint. I love the format because I can just concentrate on driving instead of...
My street alignment is something like -1.6 front left and -1.7 front right, or something like that, so some shim. I remove the shims for autox.
I don't recall where the rear camber is but I haven't touched the tie rods, just leave the rear where it's at.
Maybe I should be adding some rear neg...
I love swapping the wheels and tires, adding neg camber and firming up the coilovers on this car. In an hour transforms from comfortable daily to track monster.
Here's a link to the Redhills SCCA.
Redhills SCCA
That's the group that runs the events in your area. You will find all the info you need on their website. Have fun!
MPP sport coilovers, FUCA, rear camber arms and front lower control arm bearings have transformed the performance of this car! Super happy with your stuff!
Thought I would share one of my favorite photos just for the stoke. This was from a few months ago at a SOLO Nat event at South Georgia Motorsports Park. 1st in a class of 1. LOL
Cone marks are very easy to remove on PPF. I had the entire car wrapped with xpel ppf and would do it again. Between the cone marks and love bugs (Florida thing) my car would look like crap now.
