I'm getting it on another bulletin board too; one that spans many countries. Mind you the British ones coming out with all the anti-EV bollocks are pretty much the same ones on the brexit thread who (and this is hard to believe) think brexit was (and still is) a good idea [1] I'm constantly...

    14-50P and 14-50R

Doh! of course ... Plug Mind you, in England we call Receptacles Plugs ...and also call them Sockets, but Plugs are always Plugs, so we might put a plug into a Plug Personally I'd call it a Duplex Outlet 🤓

    14-50P and 14-50R

I just saw a post on cl for a 50A (allegedly) extension cord that terminated in 14-50P and 14-50R My question is: What's the P and the R for? Prong and Recepticle maybe? Why not M and F for Male and Female ... or is that just too carnal?

Two things I don't understand: (i) why EVs seem to have become a political wedge issue (well I suppose someone somewhere is making money or gaining votes by making it so) (ii) why the right wing seem to hate EVs (a generalisation to be sure) but Elon, who in fairness seems to gravitate to that...

HV Battery Died with 7 miles range left showing on Range display

Funny you should say that (right at the beginning of this thread) but I have had that happen in an icemobile - but that was because the pickup must have been at the front of the tank causing it to cavitate when the fuel sloshed to the back I've heard similar (but opposite) happens in a Cessna...

Cup holder inserts making cup holders to small?

I had a car that had a cupholder with little spring loaded "fingers" inside it so that any cup up to the size of the opening could be accommodated

Poll: Do You Plug In Every Day (for daily driving, home charging)?

I'm in the "Other" category, but only because if it's the weekend, or if I'll be heading out soon then I don't bother, but really I should be in the "Yes" category

Cup holder inserts making cup holders to small?

I wonder why the people who make cupholder inserts . . . don't make cups too! Seems like a lost income stream to me and don't take this the wrong way but this is the epitome of a First World Problem 🤡

Poll: Do You Plug In Every Day (for daily driving, home charging)?

For daily driving, I wouldn't bother, but my commute is 80 miles round trip so I generally keep it plugged in overnight, just do it as a matter of course when I get home I also do this so that when people tell me they can fill their icemobile up in as little as five minutes, I can tell them it...

Anyone received the TCEQ $2500 Grant Money for buying an EV in Texas?

100% or 80%.... myth?? [preparing for a road trip]

. . . unless (and yes I'm being pedantic here) it was time to go and you were only at 90% 🤡 but I take your point and if I was doing any kind of a long trip I'd get it to 100% first if I could, just because . . . runway behind you and fuel on the ground etc

100% or 80%.... myth?? [preparing for a road trip]

I'm not sure I understand: the only way it would be faster is if you left with enough to skip one of the planned stops ...or do you mean that if at your first stop you were supposed to charge to 60%, then that would be faster if you arrived with 40% rather than 10%? That certainly makes sense...

100% or 80%.... myth?? [preparing for a road trip]

That's a valid point. If you want to do the whole trip on one charge, then maybe 100% at the start would be the way to go, but if you'll be stopping to charge on the way, then remember that you'll charge faster the lower the SoC is (think of loading the trunk with suitcases and how easy it is at...

Robotic arm suction cup impressions on back glass

Funny you should mention this . . . Tesla Owners, Let's Talk: Touchscreen vs. Physical Buttons - What's Your Take?
