    Everybody’s software version (M3)

Thanks Hiroshi, I was struggling to limit my searches on various firmware websites to Japan only cars. It's reassuring to know there's nothing wrong with the way my car was configured after its previous servicing.

    Everybody’s software version (M3)

After I took my M3 in an engineer put a new version of software on my car and since then I’ve had zero updates. Not sure if I’m behind, or if the timing is coincidental and Japan’s updates have slowed down. My current version is 2023.38.9.1 663a5e630e82 and I’m on the advanced setting for...

Service mode in Japan - Password?

I am sad to report that simply connecting to a WiFi network with the same SSID did not let me access service mode.

    2023.32.9 release

Shutoko had more phantom breaking than before, but outside of Shutoku the autopilot feels smarter. No major problems. Auto-lane change is faster, corners on autopilot feel smoother.

    2023.32.9 release

    2023.32.9 release

The thing is, I’m not sure if I am on Tesla Vision, this is the first time I’ve ever seen it mentioned for my car. Is there any way I can check?

    2023.32.9 release

My concern is more toward the 2023.32.4 notes. My car is currently on 2023.26.9 and so hasn't been updated to 2023.32.4 so isn't currently on "Tesla Vision". I'm wondering if Tesla Vision is currently a better experience than the current AP-features that make use of radar.

    2023.32.9 release

No option to view live Sentry Mode footage on mobile app in Japan?

Yeah I can’t view it either, never have been able to. Strong privacy laws here probably made the product manager for Japan be cautious and not release the feature yet

    CHAdeMO Adapter Update?

Thanks as always Hiroshi. Ah, I see. So chargers that are updated to firmware that support this Dynamic Control feature will default to 50A for cars (adapters) that do not respond correctly to this new protocol? I'm guessing there must've been an old EV model somewhere that they didn't want to...

    CHAdeMO Adapter Update?

Got this email from Tesla yesterday What I don't understand is, I have always been able to push up to 50kW with my current adapter. It feels like some essential context is being left out, but I'm not sure what it is. Is there a particular circumstance where 50kW charging is not working...

Updates to ZESP3 from September 2023 (price increase and change of conditions)

Thanks Hiroshi-san. Looking at the revised pricing on 株式会社e-Mobility Power it might make sense for me to cancel and just use the ビジター feature on chargers in the eMP network. I charge with CHADEMO once every month or so when visiting my wife's parents. Edit: I think I'll try using the ビジター...

updates for Japan - why so delayed and features locked?

What does this mean exactly? Are other manufacturers' cars not seen as "cars" while parked? A parked Tesla must not be able to perform any action that would otherwise be illegal to perform while on the road? (i.e. using lights for a purpose other than illuminating the road ahead etc)

    Enhanced Autopilot in Japan

Yeah, "Navigation on Autopilot" is included in Enhanced Autopilot, but isn't enabled in Japan unfortunately. Not sure if it's because Tesla hasn't trained/configured it for Japan yet, or if it's a legal/bureaucratic issue.

    Enhanced Autopilot in Japan

I mainly bought it for Summon because my garage is tiny. The automatic lane changing is a nice bonus. It will also have Navigate-on-Autopilot when it's ready... Whenever that would be lol

    Enhanced Autopilot in Japan

If you call them and ask for it, they'll open a Service ticket in the app where you can pay for it and they'll activate it shortly after. You might be able to do it via opening a Service ticket instead of calling, but I called.

    Enhanced Autopilot in Japan

Yeah, wall on one side and a pillar on the other. Here's some photos if you're interested... Interesting that it can apparently hit one object when trying to avoid another object... Frunk all-weather liner quality?

I recently bought the all-weather frunk liner and... I'm not sure if the product is bad or my expectations were way too high. The fit seems... loose and there's a small scuff on one side... I'll let the photos do the talking. Thoughts? Anybody else buy the frunk liner? How was yours?

How to charge using CHAdeMO and other non-Tesla EV chargers in Japan.

I'm guessing you're talking about having to pick some Nissan dealership somewhere? If so, just pick the one nearest you that you'd be happy to visit if you had to. It shouldn't matter if you opted for the card to be sent via post anyway.
