Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I just had 3M crystalline window tint installed all the way around on my X, including the front windshield. The tint is so light on the windshield you can't even tell it's tinted, but the UV blocking feature has already made a substantially noticeable difference when the sun is shining. If the...
I might have been able to call someone and get it changed but due to my travel plans to get back to receive the car, home delivery (theoretically) was a better option.
That would have been my preferred method but in Texas they wouldn't even let me schedule delivery until final payment was made. They delivered it to my house but the delivery driver jumped out and immediately shut the door and put it in some mode where I couldn't access the interior until I...
Alrighty boys and girls, I would like to take a moment to reiterate the advice that others have given here in the past yet I failed to follow:
if you have issues with your car at delivery, refuse delivery.
I had some issues at delivery last night and was told they could take the car back and...
Thats good to know. It sounds like the driver window motor works a little harder than the other windows so I think that might be it. Either way I'm taking it in tomorrow to let them deal with it.
I'm going to take it in just as soon as I wake up in the morning. The service appointment was auto-scheduled for several days from now but the delivery guy spoke with a lead tech at the service center and said I can stop by in the morning. I hope that's the case and it wont be a wasted trip.
Thanks. Its a beautiful car for sure. I hope there isn't anything to it but there are some substantial rubbing noises when it goes up and down that none of the other windows make. I can see that being the issue with the auto window going inop but it wouldn't explain why the window chooses to go...
Well folks, after just over a year I took delivery of my MX.
For the most part, its a fantastic car and only had a few small issues and one big one. The panel alignment is pretty good all around. The only place that I found an issue is on the driver-side rear window trim that protrudes a...
Has anyone actually tried these mats from Tesla yet? The website has a picture of a refreshed X and says they’re compatible with vehicles produced 2021+ but its not compatible with any of my vehicles - which is only a 2022 X (which will hopefully be delivered on the 17th).
Honestly I’d be lying if I gave you an answer. I found a VIN decoder that says it can be any digit between 1-9 or A, B, C, or D, but a few folks have said they have 0 as well, so my guess is the X is just another placeholder.
The X represents the pattern of the duct tape Tesla used to hold your motors in place. Mine is a 0 which represents the number of functional airbags installed In mine.
Tesla called me asking the same and also said their offers have increased quite. I told Ive heard too many horror stories about MXs arriving with issues so I will keep my truck until this car proves its not a lemon. He responded with “that‘s totally understandable.”
I got VIN’d on Mar 5, EDD just changed to Mar 12-18, no delivery time scheduled yet.
I have received more communication from Tesla in the last few days than I have the entire year I’ve been waiting. Of course all of that communication was “hurry up and get financing” and “hurry up and get...
F’ing Tesla.
My EDD changed to March 16-20 when I got a VIN. I called and explained that I am out of the state for work but I can schedule a flight back and time off during that time, but once I schedule it I absolutely CANNOT change it, so I asked if we can make sure its locked in. He said he...
Forgive me Father for I have VINned.
Yeah, that’s someone else’s joke on here but I made me laugh and I’ve been waiting for the day I got to steal it.
Much to my surprise I woke up to an email (sent at 2:40 AM central time) telling me that my VIN is now available!
I agree. The lighted ring has a nicer look to it. I also prefer the plaid text badging over that rectangle with a bunch lines in it. I don’t have a plaid coming but if I did, I’d remove that thing and replace it with PLAID text instead.
Gotcha. Right after I hit the post reply button I knew I was D-U-M dumb for saying battery percentage but was too lazy to hit the edit button and delete it. But now it makes sense.
It appears so but I certainly hope we're looking at it wrong. I ripped out part of the built-in shelves in my garage to relocate my workbench, all to make a perfect setup to back my X into my garage and have the charger right by the charge port on the left-hand side...
My EDD just changed from July to March 6-31. It seems that @Stro was the hold up for the movement we’ve been waiting for! Speaking of, where are those pictures of the new car, Stro??
Fair enough. I just did the same comparison for a Tesla Model 3 for a one model year difference (MX isn't in there yet). KBB shows a $3600 difference. Edmunds shows a $4300 difference and the trade-in calculator my Ford dealership uses shows a $3900 difference.
Just because Tesla does things...
I have to disagree with this as well. Here's why...
I currently drive a 2019 F150 King Ranch, which I bought in November of 2019 just after the 2020s came out because the only difference between the 2019 and 2020 models was the price tag. Everything else was identical. My truck was built in...
How do you feel about having a 2021 VIN?
This is a major concern for me. I know there are no differences in a 2021 vehicle vs a 2022 vehicle, but I hate the idea of getting a car that's been sitting in that test track field baking in the sun for the last several months. Plus when the time comes...
Same here for any Houstonians. I've helped two friends comb over their Teslas on delivery day (both M3s) and while I've never helped or received an X, I *am* an anal-retentive neurotic with an unnatural attention to detail.
I love him that much because he promised to bring me beer every week and hand wash my car while I sit in the A/C and drink it. @Stro was kind of drunk when he made that promise so he probably forgot but I'll remind him when/if my car ever arrives.
That's a great question. All I know is if they start delivering 5 seaters before I get the 6 seater I didn't want and upgraded to just to NOT get it last year, I will absolutely lose my mind.
“White glove communication”? I’m not getting ANY communication. Customer service goes a long way now and in the future. Tesla is in a league of its own right now but that wont always be the case. Other companies will eventually catch up and this pisspoor (or nonexistent) communication will come...
I wouldn’t mind waiting if there was just a little rhyme or reason to how they're doing the few deliveries they’ve done so far. Or at the very least give even a modicum of communication about it. I know, I know, that dead horse has been flogged. At this point I’d even be happy with an email...
I think they let you remove it once as a freebie. After that you have to deal with the price increase. I started with it, removed it then added it back to see if that would increase my chances of getting VIN’ed. I had the remove button the first time but its gone now. I called Tesla and was told...
I wonder what it takes to be part of the few because next month is my 1 year anniversary of waiting. Not as long as some folks on here but still frustrating nonetheless.
Very well said. I’d like to buy you a beer.
One more thing to add to your list regarding the “double secret priority” for those of us who got duped into switching to the 6 seaters for a “guaranteed” delivery last year: a lot of us STILL haven’t gotten it and they are refusing to let us change...
Exactly.
I travel extensively for work and what I am really concerned about is the crappy delivery windows they offer. I'm just waiting for the call telling me to"be here between 24 minutes ago and sunup tomorrow or lose your car".
I stopped by my local Tesla showroom today to ask how I can be put on the “short list” to be called to accept any car that gets passed over in my area. Every employee there gave me a baffled look of confusion, said they had no idea what I was talking about and no such list exists.
That brought...
