I find most brokers and "experts" I have spoken to and read over the years know at most about 5% about Tesla/TSLA compared to the collective wisdom on TMC. They act like they know a lot, but when you dig beneath the surface you quickly realize how little they know and understand.

I’m personally going to follow and cheer on Delorean! Obviously they will have zero effect on Tesla like this article mentions, but hopefully they can make something compelling.

I've bought a significant number of TWTR shares over the past week anticipating this deal (or an other offer higher than Elon's), and just sold Jan2024 $55calls against them for what should be an extra free $2/share.

I’ve been a Tesla investor since 2006. I came up with the name Tesla for the company and I once helped Elon move houses during a blizzard. All 5 of my kids are named Elon.

I have been staying away from covered calls completely during this run-up but Mar25 $1,200s for over $1 were too good to pass up. If the SP goes up another 20% by Friday close that would be beyond shocking.

I went to the Surrey/Langley, BC (suburb of Vancouver) service centre yesterday and the sales guy there told me the current waiting time in BC for the base Model 3 is 8 months and the base Model Y is 10 months. BC has the highest rate of Tesla adoption in all of North America.

Warrant strike prices for SPACs are usually $11.50, which is what this one is. It basically functions as a call option with the expiry date being the date of the merger (which hasn’t been announced).

You could make the question ask for # of shares (for non-option people) or total delta for those that own LEAPS. That would give the equivalent number of shares combining shares and LEAPS.

It gets better. Elon was born on June 28, 1971 (6/28/1971). 6x2=12, 8+1=9 -> 12/9 9+7=16, reverse that is 61, 6-1=5, final number is 1 -> 5:1. He even got himself born on the right day to set this up. What a guy!

Although of course past performance is no guarantee of future results, I have noticed over the years that usually when TSLA bottoms out in a dip, it usually has a double (sometimes triple) bottom day(s) apart. That’s what I’m looking for to buy back my trading LEAPS I sold at 1,150.

It’s less risky based on the amount of margin used. For example, 1 BPS 1100/900 and 2 BPS 1100/1000 use the same amount of margin with the same max loss. The first one has lower risk because it doesn’t get to max loss until 900 (vs 1000) and is easier to manage. First one has also lower profit.

I’m curious what these “dumb mistakes” based on loss aversion were. We can probably all learn from that!

I’ve gone from $100 to $200 spreads for most of my BPS. My decision was based on @adiggs experiences and then applying them to my own model of risk/reward.

If Elon actually sells all of his 10% of shares today and THIS is the only response by the SP, then that is crazy bullish. I don’t actually believe that is the case but now I am hoping.
