I also haven't had any 12v issues just running the cam directly off the fusebox. I would probably turn it off if I was leaving it sit for over a week or so. It's really a pretty simple task to install to the fusebox. I'm not handy and I did it. Just open the hood and open the passenger door...

Yeah, it routed me from Houston to Shreveport, LA by way of Dallas.... Tesla's phones were also acting dodgy at the same time, which are VOIP. I didn't really consider that internet problems at Tesla would affect NAV in that way, I assumed it was a direct hookup to Google Maps.

I'd like to have some programmable notification if the car is not plugged in. For instance, if at 11:00 PM the car isn't plugged in send an email, text message, push notification, etc to me. Don't tell me I'm the only one that needs to plug in nightly and forgets at least once a week...

Slick! I have the pro-clip mount that goes on the bottom right of the LCD. I like it there -- That is a nice solution as well though. But....like you I use it for Waze and I don't know how useful it would be up that high.

These are illegal in many jurisdictions. So before you use it check, you can get in a lot more trouble for having this installed than for not having a front plate. They are trying to prevent people using them on the front and back to skip tolls, cameras, and do other heinous things.

I don't know that I would say it 'ruins the interior'. It is very small and I won't ever see it while driving from the placement. The guy in the office next to me had his car clipped in our company parking garage. Guess what? No camera in the garage that hit that exact spot he was parked at...
