Private Reg Plate - Returning car

Hi guys - I've recently taken my private plate OFF the Lease vehicle (Lease Returns UK @ Tesla) in preperation for the car to be returned. However, as the registration was put onto a car owned (legally) by Tesla, the retention document is now being sent to Tesla, as the registered keeper. Has...

    PCH Early return?

Here’s the email I sent… I am due to have new tires fit to my Tesla M3 Performance this afternoon. They are Kumho 235/35 R20 Y92, meeting the speed (Y92) and seasonality (A-rated) requirements. They are not “T0” Tesla-approved tires. I am writing to confirm this will be accepted at lease end –...

    PCH Early return?

I'm now being told that the tyres i've ordered (kumho ecsta ps91) are "not tesla approved". Looking at BlackCricle, only the PIlot 4S Acoustic (+£100 per tyre vs Kumho) are "T0" and "Tesla approved". The spec is otherwise the same (speed & seasonality rating etc). Will Tesla kick off about this...

    PCH Early return?

Will Tesla expect any “modifications” to the car to be reverted to original? For me, I need to consider reverting; - changed lighting footwells & door pools - red sticker on Tesla logo front & back - spring-loaded struts on boot/frunk - Matt plastic cover on piano surfaces interior - privacy...

    PCH Early return?

Hi all - Anyone any experience with an early return of Tesla on a PCH? I'm due to take delivery of a new car (Defender 110) in April, 3 months before contract due to end. I don't want to pay for the remaining months (£700 a month!) and having ran an early return quote in the app, it's showing...

    Model 3 Wading Ability

Just to add, before I bought my M3P I had a 4.0l BMW X6... supposedly a SUV capable of flying around a track and climbing a muddy mountain in equal measure... ... Having had to hand the car back for 2 months and have £20k of engine rebuild (luckily under warranty!) due to water ingress into...

Tesla Wall Connector - keeps fusing?

Hi all, sorry for delay in response on this!... but the story thickens! It's an RCB with a test button, 32A. It was checked by the installer and no problems identified. Highlighted the smart meter may be giving off signals which interfere with the RCB causing it to trip... this does make some...

Self-driving cars (level 3) to be allowed on UK roads

I am assuming, based on definitions of level 3 autonomous driving, that this would mean no more need to wiggle the steering wheel every 30 seconds? Sounds like automated lane changing etc is still out of scope though... sounds to me like the proposed Gov recommendation is moving us only to level...

Tesla Test Drives in the UK . .

If it was said with genuine courtesy and a desire to educate I'd agree, but this was certainly said with a whiff of "Oh look, this poor idiot doesn't know how to close a frunk, who let this guy in?". I think it was said slightly in jest ie. Yea we all know Tesla are a bit special (just like...

Tesla Test Drives in the UK . .

Hi all - Yes, was a 1-way and return trip with Home > Work > Home set-up, but the show room guys were typically laid back and said "take it wherever you'd like, see you in an hour". Their relaxed attitude (assumed because of tracking in car etc!) made it a very enjoyable (and different)...

Tesla Test Drives in the UK . .

Sure - "Work" was set to one of the junctions on the Motorway, "Home" was set back to the showroom. Sorry, above a little misleading.

Tesla Test Drives in the UK . .

Exactly! Me and the Misus took a MSP out without a salesman... they were all young (and trendy) and just handed the "key" over and said "Go for it, motorway is about 10 mins away, we've set the nav on a round trip up/down motorway but see you in about an hour".... When I returned (with a massive...

Tesla Test Drives in the UK . .

I'd certainly recommend a test drive, even if just for the experience of driving a Tesla! I had one back in Summer '20 in Solihull (in a Model S Performance as they had no available Model 3's at the time...), so there's certainly more than just the four you mention. It's absolutely worth it...

Tesla Wall Connector - keeps fusing?

Hi all, A few times now I've come to charge my car at home, and the TWC (Gen 2) is off, with the fuse breaker down. Flicking the fuse box back up turns the TWC back on, and the charger is fine. A few charges go by, nothing changes. Then seemingly randomly the same happens again. Happening...

    Trickle charge at caravan site?

Thanks all - so to confirm, the 16A commando supply might be all right (with prior permission/review from owner) but plugging into a “normal” 3-pin socket from within a static caravan is probably a bad idea?
  26. JAR897

    Trickle charge at caravan site?

Anyone think there’s any risk using the trickle charger at a caravan site? I know some of these sites can have dodgy electrics, etc (or am I making sweeping assumptions?)

    ICE-ing strategies & solutions

That seems like a smart move - Trying to 'do them a favour' as you say, to avoid the direct confrontation but getting the result (hopefully) at the same time. ICE-ing strategies & solutions

Like the logic on "EV Charging" terminology... I must admit, I've been guilty once or twice (in quiet car parks) to take advantage of an EV space without plugging in... but can imagine my own frustration if I needed to charge and saw myself in that situation... Especially as EV's increase in...

    ICE-ing strategies & solutions

For me personally, I think fines for any vehicle not actively 'plugged in' would be the best route forwards... policed in the same way maximum-stay spaces are policed today (via traffic wardens). This would mean if a car isn't plugged in, they're fined. If they're plugged in not charging...

    ICE-ing strategies & solutions

Hi guys, It's (thankfully) not happened to me, but I'm really keen to get opinions as well as proven solutions on how to deal with ICE-ing, both at dedicated charging locations (such as Tesla Superchargers, Public charge points, etc) as well as destination chargers (Supermarket car parks...

Enhanced Summon & Autonomous driving UK laws

Where's the best place (other than these forums, of course!) to keep up-to-date about UK law changes etc related to self-driving, and the hopeful improvement of Summon/AP in the UK? eg. When could we reasonably expect summon to work >1m away from car, etc etc?

An exciting milestone reached today. After tarmac laid last week, the first four superchargers were installed today. Looks like they may be v3 as only have a single charge port? I took the Liberty of picking one up - probably the first in the country to do so I reckon!

    Car washing options?

Thanks - my query is more so “is there any risk to the electrics / water ingress etc?”. I appreciate there’s more care when washing by your own hand, but realistically is there a significantly increased risk by taking it to the car park guys?
