Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I upgraded today and am definitely happy with the boost! Had been waiting for them to release this! I was also thinking the LR felt sluggish from a stop, especially because I test drove the M3 LR with the boost and the difference was very noticeable. The acceleration now definitely pushes you...
I had to get mine redone because there was a huge piece of hair in my eyesight while driving, plus the area around the rear view mirror were very sloppily cut. The redo was much better though. I think as long as the shop has experience with Teslas you should be fine.
I actually just got mine coated after posting this and they don’t chatter anymore. Also if the rain is light enough it really beads to the point of not even needing wipers. I haven’t experience heavy rain with the coating yet, but so far very happy with it. I still have it set to auto and they...
Yeah this hasn’t happened to me since then, knock on wood? I have been resetting the car about once a week though now just cause I’ve read that could help, YMMV
So I’ve had the MY about 2 months and have had 3 screen/computer issues where I had to hold the restart buttons to resolve.
Today, I went outside and got in the car and the screen was completely black. I tried holding the button longer and it didn’t work. Eventually I held it down for over a...
The wipers have been so manic in my car. I have to turn them to a manual speed because auto is too intense. It’s been really rainy here the last few days so I’ve been having a lot more time with the wipers. I made the mistake of putting Rain X in the windshield fluid tank so the wipers are also...
I would 100% recommend tinting the windshield and front side windows. I got mine done after driving 1000 miles without and I can notice a huge difference in the comfortableness of the cabin and a decrease in my wh/mi for the car. I was averaging about 380 wh/mi before the tint, and now it's gone...
I used UFCU. They've been great and handled everything with Tesla pretty seamlessly. My rate 2.5% for 60 months. Here's the info from my loan officer if you wanted to send him a message:
Evan Wayne | Consumer Loan Officer
University Federal Credit Union
PO Box 9350 | Austin, TX 78766
(512)...
Update on my delivery: I finally got it! And the fit and finish was way better than I was expecting it to be. I could not find any big alignment, gap or paint issues with the car at all and even the charge port is flush. My VIN is 22xxx. The only things I noticed were:
1) There is a lot of...
My delivery date was delayed yet again, but I did get a text on Friday that the car needed to be detailed and inspected, so I assumed it had arrived. Got a text today it was expected to be ready tomorrow but to wait til they text me to come to the store. I’ll report back once I’ve picked it up.
Did anyone else receive a text similar to this before delivery?
"Tesla Update - Get ready to meet your Model Y!
Because deliveries are currently touchless or minimal contact, please get to know your Model Y prior to your upcoming delivery by watching these videos at...
I used UFCU and they had experience working with Tesla. You should ask someone at Navy if they have any experience with them. I just forwarded my MVPA paperwork which included the VIN when Tesla sent it to me and UFCU did the rest. They sent me a confirmation that I forwarded to my delivery...
I got my MVPA 6/28 and still waiting on delivery. Getting pretty annoyed at this point since I have to start my loan payment and don’t have the car. The last I heard was that the car is on its way but that all the info they can give. The delivery date is just tentative until the car actually...
I chatted in yesterday on the delivery day page: Tesla.com/deliveryday
They were able to change it so my final price was updated and I’ll be getting a refund check from Tesla since I already financed the old price. Picking up in a week and a half.
Also I noticed if the chat window doesn’t...
FYI: I just chatted with the delivery specialist chat (Tesla Delivery Day) and they were able to make the change to my order to reflect the new price. Since I already financed the vehicle, he said Tesla will send me a refund check for the price difference.
I’m still waiting on delivery of mine, but just emailed my advisor to ask to pay the adjusted price. I have a feeling this is going to be a hassle since I’ve already paid and am in Texas... should I just got ahead and reorder one now? Haha
I also had some weird issues on my order, but calling a salesperson over the phone fixed the issues within minutes. So good to know in the future.
Also good to hear they’re going back and fixing any issues. They said my car was built in June, it’s a 22xxx VIN, so I’d be ok if they went over it...
Thanks everyone for letting me know your experience! Definitely makes it hard to be patient once you’ve already paid for the damn thing :p seems like I’m in the same window as everyone else has been and will have another week or two of waiting.
Hey Texans Model Yers who've already gotten their car...
Can you give me an estimate the amount of time between funding your car with a VIN and receiving the car in Texas? I funded my vehicle about a week ago and have had the VIN for 2 weeks now. I had a delivery appointment for Tuesday for a...
I ended up getting a text from the delivery center to add my insurance and then my MVPA, VIN and tentative delivery date/time were on my account right after. Looks like it just needed some time to go through.
So I ended up getting a text from the Austin delivery team to send my insurance info and my account updated with a VIN, MVPA and they selected the tentative delivery date/time for me of next Tuesday.
Yeah it’s different here, I’m pretty sure I need my lender to pay Tesla for the total amount before they’ll start the delivery process to Texas. But can’t do any of that until I have VIN and MVPA. I reached out to my delivery advisor but he’s never responded within 24 hours so I’m gonna check in...
I’m in Texas and just got the text below.. has anyone else received this? I went into my account but there isn’t a VIN, even in the source code, so I can’t really finish the loan or get insurance. I connected with the delivery chat support, and he said I should see a VIN/MVPA in 10 minutes, but...
Wondering if anyone else got this text before getting their VIN? (see below) I went to my account page, but I don't see a VIN or way to pay off the final balance. I went to the Tesla.com chat and he said I had a VIN assigned, updated my lending info (I switched from Alliant to UFCU), and said...
I test drove the Model 3 LR AWD and floored it a few times and can't imagine needing anything that speed or faster, so I'm sure you're right. I'll probably wait to change my order since I'm going for a test drive in the Y in less than 24 hours.
Did you get the 20'' inductions or Gemini wheels...
I am going to test drive the LR AWD Model Y tomorrow. I currently have a White/Black Performance Stealth w/ 20'' inductions reserved from the end of May. Today my delivery advisor said I 'might' see it soon, but to expect 4-8 more weeks of waiting... which is the same time frame the website says...
I have the same experience. I ordered at the end of May and got multiple texts at the beginning of June. I reached out to my Delivery Specialist last week and he finally got back to my today. He doesn’t know when the car will be ready, 4-8 weeks to be safe.. so basically like I just put in an...
It almost seems too bad to be true. A few of the people who had the cars with different panels didn't even notice until someone pointed it out online. Now they can't unsee it. Hopefully, whoever is in charge of the painting sees can't unsee it after this either!
It's crazy how many White Y's they delivered with this problem. I have seen at least 5 of them posted today on reddit and Facebook Model Y group. I would definitely not accept the car with the obvious paint defect either.
I’m not envious of all the trouble you’ve had to go through. Anxious to see if you still find the car worth the trouble (hoping so haha).
I ended up setting up a test drive in Houston for the Y since I have no idea when mine will be here. The person handling the test drives has been one of the...
I have the same config! I haven’t gotten a vin yet but I did get the June/Delay text after making the change. Haven’t heard anything else about it though, so I emailed my advisor earlier.
Thats not necessarily true. I placed an order on May 30 for MSM/black/LR and got a text 2/3 days later that said the car would be ready for delivery in 10 days. I ended up changing my config to White/Black P no PUP and now I have no idea when I’m getting the car. It seems like some configs...
Their order/delivery situation is terrible. I got a text at the beginning of the month about my car being built in 10 days, yet I still don’t have a VIN, delivery date, or any more info. My advisors also just say I should get the car by June. I would prefer to not receive these text as they’re...
I originally started off with a LR AWD MSM/Black with 19'' wheels. I think it looks even better with 20'' inductions on MSM. I decided on the white car because my last 3 cars were similar greys to the MSM and black and ready to change it up with a white car. Also it made the upgrade to...
Yeah originally they were shipping the Performance without the PUP Model 3's without the Dual Motor badge. I think that has happened with some "Stealth" Model Y's.
I've thought about it some more and YOLO, I'm still going to get the White Stealth P with 20'' inductions... I've just come to...
It’s definitely just a nickname that was carried over from the model 3 days when you could order the Performance without the PUP.
I’m not really doing it because I want to be stealthy, I just don’t really want the red brakes, lowered suspension, Uberturbines or the foot pedal covers
The longer I wait for delivery and read about all the fit and finish issues, the more I'm tempted to downgrade to LR AWD with 19'' to save $8k. I really prefer the 20'' induction tires, but I'm starting to think I might feel better about saving the $8k and don't plan on taking this thing to the...
