Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
Coincidentally I actually spoke to Tesla about this today. I am leasing and no miles in loot box.
They said they checked their system and the miles were attached to the VIN, but because it’s leased the miles wouldn’t show in my loot box.
Not used a supercharger yet but that was the advice...
Those marketing boffins are always going to flatter the cars styling in the pictures - I’m sure half the shots these days are CGI renders!! I think you can only know for sure when you see it in the flesh.
The biggest turn off for me is the massive bit of black plastic on the bottom section of...
Either way it’s no deal breaker.
Norway is a great idea and I should get a chance to head through Netherlands and Denmark on the way too.
Thank you!! Can start planing all the stops on the way :D
Me and the other half are spending our lockdown hours daring to dream of our next holiday. I said that with the miles I got from referral and uncertainty around aviation industry we should plan a road trip to somewhere in Europe.
Anybody have any big drives they recommend? Ideally from their...
Interesting watch, and whilst i totally get the logic I can’t help wondering...if there’s dust falling on your car regardless, rubbing a microfibre over it won’t exactly help either; lesser of two evils perhaps.
Either way I agree that glass is certainly the best place for it.
She’ll be...
I would have said anything that relates to your black horse agreement is best if that’s who you are sending the money to - have they given you any references yet that you could use?
Depending who you bank with I know you can get a proof of payment once you’ve done a transfer. I’m with...
I will say the climate is not as good as in other rival ICE vehicles. I came from a 3 series with a multi zone climate thing and it’s not a patch on that. However, it does do the job to a more than adequate standard; I think you just have a to work a bit harder at finding the right settings...
Thanks to everyone for the replies, very much appreciated.
I will give Octopus a ring on Monday and should it be as straightforward as it all sounds, I’ll be certain to use one of many referral codes that arrived in my inbox!!
Thanks again!
A good read, thank you...in truth it’s made me question the blade I use to get all the water off the car. I always give mine a good rinse in warm water before use, but is there another reason I am missing to avoid using it?
There was just one paragraph in which a couple of words gained an...
Commute is about 45 miles so daily charge would replace what I’ve used in those 4 hours. Thank you for your help!
Thanks for your reply. Did you already have a smart meter at the property, or did Octopus/third party install as part of switching to them?
will check this out too!! Thank you
Hoping that some far more knowledgable that I can offer input here...
I don’t currently have a smart meter and since my gas meter is in the ground my understanding is the energy providers are less that likely to come and install. I spoke with two prior to getting an electric vehicle and they...
I use gyeon q2m bathe essence
horses for courses at the end of the day id say though...comes down to your budget and how much of a ‘car cleaner’ you are.
Do you clean your car a lot?
What kind of other cleaning equipment do you have?
How much time would you say is a ‘normal’ amount of time...
It's an good point and i can honestly say i have never considered it.
Snow foam or no snow foam, washing your car at home means you are still washing iron, tar etc. off your car and into the drains. Maybe they have different ways of processing this...IDK?! I would imagine with all the other...
I got the 50ml version, as i have often found myself 'liberal' with application of products in the past and didn't want to run out. However, I did my upmost with this to try and stick to the instructions and have well over half the bottle left so that's a bit of a guide - i did only do one coat...
Valet Pro Foamula 1
It's good stuff, but then again I've never done any comparison tests so I couldn't honestly tell you how much better/worse it is than other brands. All I know is that the beading is just as good after two washes, so the foam wouldn't appear to have effected the properties of...
I would really recommend a ceramic coating. Never done one before, but after reading Tesla paint can be a bit on the sensitive side I thought I would give it a go and opted for the Carpro CQuartz UK 3.0.
I am certainly no pro detailer or anything and found it really easy to apply...there are...
I have just received all invoices directly from LeasePlan today - 1. deposit & 2. first monthly payment. Showing DD dates about 1 week apart. They came to the company director...maybe check with them?! Unless of course that's you and in which case you already know they haven't landed!!
No idea...
Most things already covered above from your original post, but from experience of working all these costs out prior to purchase i would say one more thing to consider is watt hours per mile.
It's one thing working out how must it will cost to charge, but its another working out how often you...
sadly not yet...only got confirmation emails from the leasing company today so figured they may still be processing things. They still haven’t taken deposit yet.
in my mind the longer they take the better - unsure if Tesla have or plan to extend the period in which miles are used but I’m...
When I spoke with Tesla and my leasing company regarding this, they said it can often take more than a few days...sometimes several weeks. In the current climate of reduced hours and lay offs i would hazard a guess even longer. I only collected my car on Friday, but I am still holding out hope...
Haha...indeed...got a notification of charging again around 10:05, but only until 10:15.
although other than the cabin temp, I’m not sure how to know for sure that the battery was preconditioned?!
Set my first scheduled departure last night for 10:30am this morning! Looked at phone before bed, app said it was scheduled at the right time...happy days!
...woke up this morning and opened app to see how charging had got on and after it did it’s ‘waking up’ routine the scheduled departure...
Well everything went perfectly today, so I have to eat all my words about confusion regarding Select Car Leasing and Tesla!!
Tesla had the correct email address in their system, which meant the second...literally the second...that i signed the car off my app/account showed the car and connected...
Well all my initial fears and frustrations were allayed today when SCL finally confirmed a collection date for end of this week. I imagine upcoming handovers will be the shortest and most 'distant' ever, but considering the current climate I am just glad I have the vehicle and would rather be...
select car leasing, funded my leaseplan.
Experience with both companies has been good so far - easy document portals etc. However, would definitely be better if I could see how my order was progressing via Tesla account.
Mr. Miserable - very good summary, one that I would have certainly benefitting from reading before placing my order! However, having just gone through this process I would say that point no.5 did not happen so easily for me. The way Cyclone1 explains this is closer to what happened to...
I’ve been going through this at the moment. I put a deposit down on an inventory vehicle and it’s been very much up and down trying to secure a business lease on it since!!
I know for definite that the vehicle is no longer showing on my account - which apparently is all part of the leasing...
