    FSD Beta v11.x

This is nice to see! Wish it was just 24 hours or something though.

    FSD Beta v11.x

Anyone know if 11.4.2 resets strikes? I just got my fifth one tonight while looking straight ahead and now have lost beta. Feels really bad considering these strikes have been adding up since August 2022 and each one was when I was looking directly straight ahead/squinting or wearing glasses...

    Shareholder Meeting 2023

Also got an invite and am in the Fort Lauderdale area and I'm similarly on the fence. I do think it would be really fun to go to and I considered driving, but at 2600 miles round trip and 19.5 hours (+ at least 2.5-3 hours for charging) one way, that's a lot. As a cost estimate, I recently drove...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Where did you see it fail to negotiate a turn there? It looked like it handled everything very well in that video.

Received FSD download but cannot accept

Can you please provide more info? A picture of the screen you're getting this message on would be helpful. There's check box you need to click after turning FSD bets on, make sure you're clicking that or you won't be able to turn it on.

    FSD Beta 10.69

I’ve been subscribed to FSD since picking up my MYP on June 20th, and I got 2022.20.7 last week. Now 20.8 is waiting to download, but I’m not installing since it has nothing over 20.7 (which added blended braking for when battery is at high state of charge, or cold and regen is low). My guess is...

Tow package worth buying for one time use and then never again?

That would work, but then that would be significantly more in gas + the cost of having to get the other car shipped here (we have a Y and 3). Since we're trying to minimize costs (I have a good amount of free supercharger miles on my Y) that's what got me thinking of just going with getting tow...

Tow package worth buying for one time use and then never again?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not really feasible for my partner and I since we don't have that much stuff. It's just a mattress, 65-inch TV, possibly a small couch, and then just some small bedside tables. That's why I figured towing with the Y would be the easiest/most cost effective...

Tow package worth buying for one time use and then never again?

So I just picked up my MYP a few days ago without tow hitch. I'm planning on moving from Boston to Florida this year and was going to use my Y to tow a small u-haul trailer with some things. That is the only time I ever expect to tow anything as I don't own a camper or anything similar in size...

FSD beta expansion to new beta testers June 2022

Did you end up getting FSD beta straight from factory build? I just picked up my Model Y yesterday (came with factory SW 2022.11.101.5) and subscribed to FSD immediately during delivery. An hour later I got a notification that 2022.16.1.2 is ready for download, but I haven't downloaded yet as I...

Are the wheels on the Uberturbine's really that easy to damage? (New England area)

Hey everyone, I'm trading in my Model 3 with 18" wheels for MYP in a few weeks and I'm really not sure what to do about the uberturbines. I love the way they look and don't really mind the harsher ride (plan on getting upgraded coilovers), but I'm nervous they'll be super easy to pop and then be...

Any of you have 100/99 scores still not get any FSD till today?

Nothing here either. 100 score and >100 miles driven since Thursday.

    Safety Score

Made this mistake yesterday and broke my 50-mile segment rule. Decided to drive 100 miles at night so traffic on highway was low and as I pulled off my exit to head home, I turned off AP and slowed down (it’s a freshly paved exit with no lane lines so NoA takes it too fast/late). At the same...
  14. bd7349

    Safety Score

Correct. What I do is go on the highway (try to merge using AP, a lot of my unsafe following was from merging and hitting 50mph while being too close to the car in front -- merging on AP resolves this even though it's not great for two reasons: 1. AP doesn't count any unsafe following and 2...
  15. bd7349

    Safety Score

Just a heads up, but being sent to AP jail for going over the speed limit doesn't ding your score at all. Have had it happen to me on numerous occasions when I've accidentally gone above the 80 mph limit.

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Just saw your latest post about you getting your vision update and VIN, so I figured what the heck and checked mine (there was no update to it yesterday morning when I looked). Imagine my surprise when I see the vision agreement is there and now a VIN! Super excited and can’t wait to have a car...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Seriously, the white interior better be amazing! And to make the wait even harder a white performance Model 3 with black interior just appeared in inventory ready for delivery... so close to hitting that buy button lol. Just keep reminding myself that the thing I really want is the Cybertruck...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I'm in the Boston area and don't want the performance for similar reasons (in addition to the extra cost). Not to mention I already have a set a of 18" winter tires that I used on my old dual motor and which won't fit on the performance 3. So I'd have to buy a new set of winters and sell the...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Nope. Ordered 6/25, finalized everything on my profile the last week of July and for ONE DAY in early August I had an EDD of August 30th-Sept 19th. The next day that changed to November where it has remained ever since. At this point I'm starting to get a little antsy with waiting and I'm...

Mobileye Autonomous Vehicle Ride in New York

Overall looks like it did decently well, but as was pointed out on r/SelfDrivingCars, it makes some seriously unsafe moves here. It does a very bad lane change at 23:45, nearly turning into another car for seemingly no reason. That 100% should have been an intervention as the Mobileye car was...

    Autonomous Car Progress

Really nice breakdown of this paper that was put out by Stanford last fall (article link: here). The Tesla part starts right at 9 minutes in if you want to skip ahead, but the whole thing is worth listening to. Elon's recent tweet on v9: Could be what Tesla is doing with v9 considering Elon...

Elon responds to tweet about Tesla becoming the biggest company because of FSD

The reason people think it has to do with FSD is because Elon replied in another tweet after that saying "Probably within a few months". He then promptly deleted that tweet. And the only thing that would cause such a huge jump in stock price is if they've got FSD working at level 4 or 5...

Unmarked Roads - Autopilot vs. FSD

No, only FSD beta works on unmarked roads. FSD that is currently available to the public is no different than regular Autopilot in terms of how it handles unmarked roads.

    Waymo

Looks like Waymo really can't handle rain all that well. Disengages completely at around 7:22 in what I'd call light to moderate rain (the wipers weren't going fast at all).

    Virtual overhead view and FSD

Possible they might display something like this and create a 3D vector space representation of the world (start at 1:40 – keep in mind this was created using only one camera and one radar): Considering Tesla's have 8 cameras + ultrasonics and radar it seems likely this would something they're...

FSD rewrite will go out on Oct 20 to limited beta

He usually posts the videos at 1x speed as well. Here’s the link to that version of this drive: I prefer these as well, makes it easier to judge and see where it made weird/wrong decisions.

    Autonomous Car Progress

Thought this was an interesting tweet thread from Elon on how the FSD chip works. I had no idea the two SoC’s ran different neural networks to utilize the full 144 TOPS that the FSD chip can do. For context, he was replying to this tweet from an ARK Invest analyst.

    Autonomous Car Progress

Have you seen this? 3D Packing for Self-Supervised Monocular Depth Estimation [CVPR 2020] Likely that Tesla is going for a high fidelity 3D vector-space representation of the world similar to that. Autonomous Car Progress

Autosteer on city streets is basically FSD — turning at lights, avoiding parked cars, swerving around open car doors. Basically anything you’d experience in the city, it’ll be able to handle. The wording has changed multiple times throughout the year. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to it...

    Profound progress towards FSD

I take that to mean crazy complex roundabouts like you see in Europe. He said it’ll be able to handle roundabouts just not all of them perfectly. The simple ones we have here in the states should be pretty easy compared to what it’ll have to handle in Europe and other countries.

    Profound progress towards FSD

So, limited public release in 6-10 weeks puts us between September 25th and October 23rd. That’s also right when Tesla usually releases their big yearly update (V9 and V10 were both out kn September) so it’s likely V11 will continue the trend. interesting comment from Elon regarding how it’ll...

    Profound progress towards FSD

The way he said it made it sound like they moved on from that and now intend to use it to provide more compute power for FSD neural nets. It’s anyone’s guess at this point about what they’ll do though, we’ll have to wait till this is rolled out and they talk about it more.
  36. bd7349

    Profound progress towards FSD

In the WAIC video Elon said they only just recently started utilizing the second computer on the FSD chip. That, to me, makes it sound like they have plenty more headroom to work with.
  37. bd7349

    Profound progress towards FSD

Also worth noting that he’s still confident in FSD by end of the year. He said he’s driving the current alpha builds ever day and it takes him through complex intersections, narrow streets, construction and can almost make it with zero interventions. Sounds like they’re trying to get the number...

    Autonomous Car Progress

I noticed that starting at 2:45:40 Elon says the following: “There’s three steps to self driving you know, there’s being feature complete, then there’s being feature complete to the degree where we think the person in the car does not need to pay attention, and then at a reliability level where...

    Autonomous Car Progress

True, but what I’m saying is since they’ve shown they’re not standing still on solving perception, that gives me reason to believe they’re also not standing still regarding the other parts of self driving (driving policy, planning, etc). My theory is I think they’re leading up to a big reveal...

    Autonomous Car Progress

I’m not saying Elon is right here, but I’ve noticed that you seem to base a lot of your comments on what our current version of Autopilot can handle/understand. It’s been shown both in the talk Andrej gave in Feb 2020 and in his CVPR video that what they’re working on internally and what we have...

First pedestrian killed by Autopilot, family sues

Experienced this myself about 5 times this weekend when taking a casual drive around trying to go through rural intersections. At many points my car hit the brakes hard when it thought it was going to hit a cyclist or pedestrian. Sad to hear the pedestrian in OP’s link was killed, but the latest...

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

Ahh that explains it then. Yeah, my commute (and the majority of my driving) is all highway at 75-80mph so my Wh/mi is always going to be close to 290-300 for the most part, although I'm hoping these tires will change that. If I had a commute like yours I think I'd be much closer to those...

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

I’m running these on the stock 19” tire size of 235/40R19. I’ll try to put a couple hundred miles on this weekend (supposed to be 65 out, so I’m thinking of driving up to Maine for a nice scenic hike away from people) to get some early efficiency numbers that way I can at least give some decent...

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

No problem. I didn't realize you were coming from those, but going down to 18's with the II's would definitely see a noticeable efficiency increase from the 20's and PS4S's. Everything I've read about those seems to say they use the most energy out of any tire combination which isn't surprising...
  46. bd7349

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

I'm curious what your driving style is like? I've never seen numbers as low as 279 Wh/mi in the winter with any tire on the 19" or 20" rims, so that's amazing. I'm not a very aggressive driver either, but even I don't usually don't see numbers in the 260-270 Wh/mi range until summer temps get...

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

Keep in mind the original P7+'s were advertised as EcoImpact, LRR tire with fuel efficiency as one of its main features. The II's don't mention any of this (even removing the EcoImpact branding) and when I asked Pirelli about this even they couldn't confirm that the II's were as fuel efficient...

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

Interesting, I wonder why Pirelli waited until February to announce them then. They’re definitely a bit cushy feeling at times although that’s to be expected with this type of tire. If the energy consumption wasn’t any better than the Pilot Sports that would’ve been a problem, glad to see...

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

It is a shame, I had high hopes for them with how good the original P7+ was. I’ll definitely be posting detailed stats on the Continental PureContact LS once I get those put on tomorrow. Really interested to see how much of a difference there will be, but I’m expecting it to be quite noticeable...

Pirelli Cintuarto P7 All Season Plus 2 — anyone try these?

Think you’re replying to the wrong thread. I got the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus 2’s to replace the stock Continental ProContact RX which lasted me 50k miles and were fine, but used a bit more energy than I liked. Somehow these new P7+’s are even more inefficient than those were. I’m...
