    Phantom Braking Discussion

Phantom braking is real, has happened to me on several occasions on GA-400 in the Atlanta area and always when going under an overpass where light changes to shadow quickly. Easily could have been rear ended if someone had of been following too close. Granted the last occurance was over a year...

Off Airport Parking (Atlanta area) for Ev - Model 3

Peachy Park indoor parking. Bring a drop cord and your mobile charger, they have 120v 15amp outlets. Make sure to reserve EV spot when you make the reservation.

Loud Clunking Sound at Cold Startup

I have this happening also. It sounds almost like the brakes are coming unstuck or something.

Blind Spot Assist - Never noticed this

I generally enjoy driving, but I live in Atlanta and stop and go traffic is so common that I relish the ability to turn over driving to the car at these times. If traffic is moving I agree that I'd rather be in control and enjoying the experience.

Blind Spot Assist - Never noticed this

Our cars will be driving themselves in a few months, probably a waste of developer resources to work on blind spots...

WOW...Superbowl commercials taking aim at Tesla.

This isn't South Korea though. In the United States most people dont have that feature, never will, and lack the respect to use if if they did.

What’s Your Favorite Color for the Tesla Model Y?

white, because they are going to look like a hard boiled egg with wheels.

WOW...Superbowl commercials taking aim at Tesla.

Smart park? How the heck do people get into their cars next door without trading paint? I've never understood this... sure you can squeeze your midsize car into a compact spot, but you have also increased the risk someone hits you with their door.

Do people still use radar detectors? I thought this was 1985 tech.

Tesla YANKED FSD option without notice - Class Action lawsuit? Any Lawyers here? [Resolved]

FSD is basically a kickstarter campaign for something not being delivered yet. If I have to trade in my car because a "baby happens", for example, why should I have to flush my 7k down the drain while the next guy gets to benefit? The fact is most people will never see FSD during much of the...

Tesla YANKED FSD option without notice - Class Action lawsuit? Any Lawyers here? [Resolved]

As much as I love my Tesla I think its past due for a class action on FSD. Tesla needs to tie this license to individuals and allow it to move to other vehicles in their line up at least once during its lifetime.

    2020.4.1 incoming

I have owned my M3P for about two months and only had braking once. Also the autopilot is rock steady with lane keeping. (hw 3.0)

I Can Think Faster than Auto Pilot

Funny you should say that. I was driving around Atlanta a few days ago near construction at the junction of I-285 and GA-400 (south) and the road line painted on the road was clearly done by mistake. it's like the paint truck picked up the roller a little, and pulled off to the curb but somehow...

What UNEXPECTED Feature Do You Love/Hate After Delivery?

Pros: love love 1-pedal driving sound system frunk auto pilot acceleration OTA updates Cons: FSD not worth the 7k I spent and may not be for much of usable life of vehicle. Inability to ask infotainment system for weather, sports scores, stocks or all the items I queried Android Auto with...

    Newbie questions

A deposit only gets you a place in a line. There are a lot of variables that would influence when you actually would take delivery. I have heard everything from production starting next month to summer. There is still much speculation around the Y timeline. You would have an oppurtunity to...

Renting out your Tesla on Turo is a bad idea, did the math..

I wouldn't do it for all of the reasons you listed for any car, Tesla or otherwise.

    Autopilot getting worse

Here is a theory. Perhaps with each update the neural net is getting reset back to a rough baseline, then it takes a few days... weeks.(?) to fine tune itself again to function the way we expect. i.e new functionality cannot be directly integrated into the existing matrix, but everything must...

FSD license should be tied to owner not vehicle

That's exactly my sentiment. I don't mind being an early adopter but this is no different than putting money into a GoFundMe campaign and gambling that it pays off sooner rather than later.
  21. thedm96

FSD license should be tied to owner not vehicle

If you are going to disagree, but provide no reason why, there is a button for that :)

FSD license should be tied to owner not vehicle

I've actually loved my M3P and Tesla ownership so much that I seriously considered upgrading to a MS. This would make Tesla more money, but because I bought FSD I feel like I will have to own this purchase until the body panels fall off. I guess this isn't a bad car to get locked into.
  23. thedm96

FSD license should be tied to owner not vehicle

The problem is us early adopters are crowd-funding the development. With "other manufacturers" you are buying a solid feature with a known immediate value that you can utilize over the expected lifespan of your vehicle.
  24. thedm96

FSD license should be tied to owner not vehicle

I disagree. Tesla would retain a customer by allowing FSD to transfer to another TESLA vehicle, not the other way around.
  25. thedm96

FSD license should be tied to owner not vehicle

So make it transferable to 1 future vehicle purchase.
  26. thedm96

FSD license should be tied to owner not vehicle

I don't know how popular this opinion will be, but I believe that at the current price point of $7000 that FSD should be a license that is tied to both the car and the individual. We all know that FSD on city streets is probably on the longer term than "right around the corner". Heck it still...

    14-50 or Tesla Charger

I personally prefer the faster charging of the hard wired wall charger. Friday I drove more than expected taking a client out to lunch and depleted battery pretty low, but also needed to charge to 100% for a long weekend trip leaving same day at 7pm. I felt like the faster charge rate...

    Tesla .. going downhill?

My M3P is the best car I have ever owned. So fun to drive that I look for excuses to drive: Deposit check using mobile app on phone, or drive to bank.. I drive to the bank.

    Tesla rage

I live in Georgia (deep south) In the foothills of the Blueridge mountains. I'm kind of an odd duckling around here as Teslas are still relatively rare. I either experience indifference or people genuinely interested in my opinion of ownership. Heck there was a KKK rally in my town square...

my mockup of carplay on model 3 display

This entire exercise is a fool's errand. I fear Elon is too headstrong to allow adoption of a competitors infotainment system. Here is to hoping he devotes the development resources to surpassing them. I miss asking my car for simple things like stock price.

my mockup of carplay on model 3 display

No kidding. I was driving in pouring rain a few nights ago and the "Auto" setting did not wipe once. And then last night when it was dry my wipers were occasionally clearing off the window for no reason. I hope the neural net does not become self-aware and read my posts, because right now...

Why the obsession with deleting chrome?

Ehhh. I had a set of I-Forged polished aluminum my 1995 Toyota Supra. Yes they look incredible, but with oxidation (yes aluminum does) and brake dust were almost impossible to keep looking nice. Perhaps the brake dust isn't an issue on a Tesla b/c of regenerative braking. I loathe the...

my mockup of carplay on model 3 display

What is great about Android Auto is it provides results for news, weather, sports scores, and anything not car-related. Tesla seems to be the inverse. There is literally no reason to ever touch my phone when using AA. Spotify integration is solid on Android Auto and kind of a kludge with...

    Build quality

This. My M3P+ blue with white interior was in pristine condition upon delivery. I have never owned a car more fun to drive and follow as a hobbyist. These cars are an early glimpse of the future. People typically only take to these forums to troll and complain, so you get a very skewed...

    Tesla low-ball trade-in offer

Just a quick note. I highly recommend those with access to one, to get a competitive trade-in value from CarMax. Tesla will match it. Originally Tesla valued my 2016 Ford F-150 Limited at 33.9k I took it to CarMax and valued it at 36k. Sent my appraisal to my SA and they matched...
