P85D LDU failure leak past rotor coolant delete by QCC

I'm so concerned about this issue. I'm well out of warranty on my P85 but so far, I have not had this issue. The one question that has not been addressed is what happens if you get QC Charge to install the Dextron VI Oil Tank and the oil pump to provide a long term solution (but later the oil...

5 failed attemps at fixing a Model S door handle

It is frustrating that Tesla charges for a door handle repair given the obvious design defects. I've had all of my door handles replaced multiple times including 3 iterations of the door handles. Most ICE car door handles are reliable vs Tesla's door handles that will not complete the basic...

Tesla 2015 Model S retrofit LED headlights

Quick update, met with Hames and he furnished and installed the 2016-2020 headlights on my 2012 Tesla Model S. Everything works and Hames indicated to me that these headlights will be more reliable than some of the other alternatives that uses an emulator. As explained to me, he obtains the...

Tesla 2015 Model S retrofit LED headlights

All, finally have my appointment (today) with Hames to install my headlights from my OEM facelift 2012 Model S to the 2016-2020 refreshed headlights. In theory, my 2012 will have the look of the 2020 body and headlights. I will keep you posted. Work being done in Los Angeles area. As he...

Tesla 2015 Model S retrofit LED headlights

I just spoke with Hames and he is going to do my lights. I live in Los Angeles so I might be able to give my review on them soon after the install. Based on my conversation with Hames, this sounds exactly what I am looking for.

Class Action Lawsuit - Model S - Auto Present Door Handles

For those of you who contacted me to express an interest in joining the lawsuit, I hate to say, but also glad to say, Tesla basically took care of me with minimal grief after raising an initial stink. This is the second time I've considered a lawsuit regarding the issue of unreliable door...

Model S - Door handle presenting, but the door will not open!

Thank you for sharing. I don't know why they don't either get this right or completely change the design. Yes, the door handles are cool, but simplicity and reliability are cooler. No one needs this headache especially on an expensive car.

    Door handle woes

Well, I hate to say, but also glad to say, Tesla basically took care of me with minimal grief after raising an initial stink. This is the second time I've considered a lawsuit regarding the issue of unreliable door handles. They know they have issues and they are trained to respond accordingly...

How to close Model S door when the handle malfunctions?

This is interesting. Thank you for the video and post. Keep me posted regarding the unreliable door handles. I'm working on a list to get Tesla to assist customers better than they have as the unreliable door handle problem seems to be widespread.

    2018 Model S Gen 3 door handle

Sorry to hear about all the problems with unreliable door handles on the Model S. I'm collecting data on the unreliable door handle issue so please feel free to provide me with any information you can. I'm working to remove the burden of the unreliable door handle issue from the customer and...

Rear door handle does what it likes to do

Rene, sorry to hear about your door handle problem. In my view, you should not have to pay for this. I've had all of my door handles replaced, some multiple times. It should not work like this. All the best and let me know if you experience any more door handle issues as I'm putting together...

Model S - Door handle presenting, but the door will not open!

Glad to hear that you were able to fix the problem yourself albeit might be temporary. I have an early Model S and had to replace all of my door handles, often multiple times. I currently have one not working. I'm afraid this problem will continue for you and other Model S owners. Keep me...

    Door handle woes

In my view you shouldn't have to pay at all. Please keep me posted as I am in the process of filing a lawsuit regarding the unreliable door handle problem. I will be posting more on this widespread problem assuming Tesla continues giving me grief. All of my door handles have been replaced...

    Unique door handle issue?

This is good to know. Wait until the rest start failing like they have for me. This will become quite a burden unless you have nothing but time on your hands. I'm having issues with a failed door handle right now. I've had all of mine replace multiple times and it is still an issue. Glad to...

Class Action Lawsuit - Model S - Auto Present Door Handles

I assure you I would only pursue something like this if I had a case but thanks for your opinion. If you think this is about money, then I agree, the only winner will be the lawyer. But the true winner will be the consumer because Tesla will think twice about making a car with few moving parts...

Class Action Lawsuit - Model S - Auto Present Door Handles

Thanks for the feedback. When I purchased #23 in the world (except that 1500 signeratures jumped ahead of me), I came from the ICE world as most Tesla owners did. We all have been accustomed to reliable door handles that would actually open the door for the life of the car. I can't go into all...

All, it has been a while since I have posted here. Let me be clear here, I do consider myself to be a Tesla "Fanboy" and I do not want to offend fellow Tesla fans. However, I'm perturbed about the continuing problems with unreliable auto presenting doors on the Model S which fail frequently. I...

    P85 modded to be a P85 w/Ludicrous

I too have a very early P85 #23 worldwide on Tesla’s original reservation que. I’ve customized my interior big time and exterior too using Tesla OEM parts for the refresh. I don’t want to sell my car but I would love to make mine ludicrous. I’m way out of warrant but I do have an updated motor.

    2014 P85 Gets a 2017 facelift using OEM parts

Will I need gap filler with the attached list of parts. These parts are purchased to refresh the Model S nose from a 2012 to a 2016 Model S as of July 24, 2021 and I believe this is the most up-to-date comprehensive list. The attached list, together with a custom made striker / latch will...

Turns out my second headlight went bad and once I reposted the positive feedback, he stopped responding. Model S Refresh bumper for older models!!!!

I have looked at both the T-Sportline version and the Unplugged Performance version. Model 3: My car is in the shop on day 2

No comparison between Teslas and Toyota’s . Tesla is superior in all respects as you will eventually find out. If you are buying new Technology, you can’t set the same standard initially. I took very early delivery of my Model 3 before X mass 2017. No problems. I have a very early Model S...

[proposed] Class action lawsuit against tesla - door handles unreliable

Chill'n out will really be dependent on Tesla's willingness to work with their customers on the issue of the door handles. While I'm the OP and Tesla has made good with me (I don't feel whole until I know I have a reliable way to open my doors), I'm not suggesting we disregard the idea of a...

Any non-employee get to configure their Model 3 yet?

Very strange, so I have to report. Over the weekend, I was on my way to Gold's Gym, Venice Beach. Saw one model 3 (silver) in the wild, then not more than 10 minutes later, another model 3 driving down another street (midnight silver). When I got to Gold's Gym parking, two cars down from me...

Any non-employee get to configure their Model 3 yet?

Let me also add that Tesla recommends a total power down for 3 minutes to supposedly be a permanent (or more permanent, lol) fix to the problem. You can go into the control panel to completely power the car down which is better than a system reboot for this problem.

Any non-employee get to configure their Model 3 yet?

I’m not sure. I will pay attention next time I drive and get back. As far as the sound issue, Tesla says to try a total power off for several minutes then power back on. I haven’t tried that yet. Seems like a firmware glitch if you ask me.

OK, I'm an owner, not an employee and I've been driving my 16 yo daughter's new Model 3 since Saturday. As a very early adapter, I currently own Model S (23rd reservation worldwide) and Model X (#256 reservation worldwide). So here is my opinion on Model 3: For those of you that may have a...
