    Supercharger - Sanford, FL

Was there today. Jan 28, 2023 and someone was working on a large cabinet near the street. Seems like this has been unusually slow for a v3.

SuperCharger going away in Orlando at Waterford Lakes?

So they had all the chargers blocked, now 9 of 14 are accessible BUT it’s terrible if you want to walk to the shops and restaurants , there are no safe places to walk, and leaving is sketchy because they put privacy netting and you can’t see to pull out. Horrible

    Michelin pilot Sport a/s 4 VS CrossClimate+

So the CC+ is discontinued and the Crossclimate 2 replaces the +. I hate manufacturers using names/models that don’t Google well. Like using the symbol + or = messes up search engines, also Chevy Bolt is a terrible name, if you want to find things about the car you get results for GM 10mm bolts...

Used Model S signature for 27k, 52k miles

These sort of questions are painful, how are strangers to know what you would spend on any car for your commute?! You didn’t give much info, please re read your question and ponder how anyone would know what YOU would save or spend. I can say for your budget, if you are a Costco member, go buy...

Difficult situation with a Condo, advice appreciated...

Your best bet is to add a NEMA 6-15 or NEMA 6-20, that’s PLENTY of kWh for any but a extremely long commute. It won’t overload your panel, will be inexpensive, uses inexpensive 12G or 10G 2 +g wire. Get the matching Tesla mobile adapter.

Autopilot (not FSD) on 3.x hardware- no lines

So I have 2020.48.10 , on a Aug 2019 hw3.x model 3, and the AP would never offer to engage near my house because there are no painted lines on the road. Last night on my way home I noticed AP was now lighting up. Most of the news and talk is about FSD beta, I wonder what’s happening with AP and...

Solar Panels on a Flat Roof

What is the angle for your pitch? For the solar glass, they wouldn’t put the tiles on my flat section, but they did the rest of the roof. Your install looks nice

    Solar Roof Underlayment Change?

They noticed in their first on-site visit, just 6 days before scheduled start date, that my roof was build on 6” boards, mostly in perfect shape but the gap between boards made it unsuitable for solar attachment, now I have thick 6” boards AND ~1/2” of plywood, then 2 layers of Firestone...

    Solar Roof Underlayment Change?

So I kicked off Tues Oct 20 - Sat Oct 24 , so 5 days of tear off, new plywood sheathing, and they did use Firestone underlayment with 2 layers. Tesla started Monday Oct 26 - Nov 3 just 7 working days, for the full solar roof install. 12 days overall. That doesn’t include the actual inverters or...

Central Florida Solar roof +3 PW price change

Indeed. speculation at the moment, but absolutely bizarre that they would just send over a update with zero explanation and no way to reach a human. It’s more confounding that the Tesla person that just did the inspection thought it was a easier than typical install AND Tesla has lowered the...

Central Florida Solar roof +3 PW price change

So I have a signed contract, permitting approved, months of planning, install scheduled for Oct 22, 2020. Oct 1 had the first Tesla site pre inspection (all the design was from satellite and photos I uploaded). No issues noted. A few days ago I get a text and an email with an update to the...

    Solar Roof Underlayment Change?

I am in Central Florida (Orlando area) and I’m just a few days from stating a Tesla roof install. They quoted Firestone roof material, I wonder if they will try an substitute another type. I also got a generic email asking me to re sign the quote, they have raised my price from $72k to over...

Seniors wishing the glovebox had a physical button to open

Your example is silly, if the passenger wants to open the glove box they can just touch the on screen button. You must be like 1:100,000,000 that is always in their glovebox. WTH.

Seniors wishing the glovebox had a physical button to open

Absolutely right, and the buttons on my Ford are nonsensical. first image when I google for it is a “what is this button?” My dash and console are filled with these, even the hazard lights switch is worse on the Ford.

Seniors wishing the glovebox had a physical button to open

This topic is bizarre to me. I have a Model 3 and a newer Ford F-350 super duty. The windshield washer is almost identical to trigger or spray fluid. I never ever open either glove box while driving but the Tesla is easier, push right steering wheel scroll and say “open glove box” you can...

Model Y Delivery - My Full List of Build Issues - How Serious Are These?

Bummer, great automotive technology, but I would have rejected over the big paint streak. The hinges being nicked seems common at the moment, but that seems minor. Not that it means it’s ok, the no touch delivery and Covid drama are where some of the dirt and plastic film are coming from. Not a...

Tesla infotainment system upgradeable from MCU1 to MCU2

That’s awesome. For folks that think Tesla is charging too much, Ford won’t even help me update my informant from the horrible Sync 2 - Microsoft mess to the Sync 3, even though I was able to buy the parts off eBay and upgrade my 2015 $70k Ford myself, easily. Had ford offered this service it...

    P3D+ fastest 0-60 for cars under 60K?

I paid less than $49999 for a sleeper/stealth 2019 bought new in September 2019. Apparently Tesla “fixed the glitch” now and it’s about $56k for 2020

    Building my own pseudo(Powerwall)

Hey, I live in the Orlando area, (Oviedo specifically) and I wonder if you give tours of your build. Maybe on Halloween. I just bought a Model 3 performance and don’t have a breaker position for a wall charger, and I still haven’t unboxed my 15kW inverter. I am sort of hung up on the bypass...

Model 3 delivered with 75 foot-pounds lug-nut torque [Update: 75 ft lbs to loosen, not tighten]

Well, build date 07/19 new model 3 performance sleeper, pulled the aero covers and one lug nut on each back wheel was beyond loose, the passenger side was close to falling off. Weird. Car has about 1000 miles, I picked it up about 2 weeks ago and only pulled the aero covers to add the black lug...

    Tail of the Dragon

Ok, I flew from Orlando Fl to Nashville Tennessee to pick up my new 2019 sleeper Model 3 (m3p-) and a good friend told me to swing through the Tail of the Dragon on my way home. I’m so glad I did, I was solo, and my wife would have gotten out and walked home before taking that route. I did use...

Pedestrian warning sound standard on Model 3 at of 1 Sep 2019

100% seriously can’t understand why it doesn’t at least OFFER the Jetsons sound. I would love to hear that as the low speed, and as I accelerate it speeds up like the old cartoon. It’s iconic

    Building my own pseudo(Powerwall)

Do you have a drawing on your setup? I have the 15kW model from EVTV and I’m trying to determine where/if I need a transfer or bypass and where to tie in the inverter. I want this to function as a whole house UPS/generator for the frequent Duke Energy Florida outages (less than 2 hours...

    Building my own pseudo(Powerwall)

Thanks for the excellent details. I love the way you can toggle the 0 or 9 setting to disable the charger. I think I need to buy the EVTV BMS at some point, but I want to get the basic system working with 2 model S modules just to confirm the basic stuff. I see the load panel and ATS module you...

How many of you are renting your Model S on Turo?

I’m surprised Tesla doesn’t partner with Silver (they only rent Audi’s) to make a Tesla only program. Could also tie into repair centers and body shop rentals. If not silver do a knock off if it. Still, why reinvent the wheel.

I received my proposal summary today (central Florida)

Why does this require a tax assessor update? Is your property tax going up for adding solar? I think “selfish solar” makes more dollars and sense /cents

    Building my own pseudo(Powerwall)

Ok, this is an awesome build. I bought the 15kW version from EVTV and have planned to build something similar. Would you be able to share a rough budget? I only have a <1000 watt solar setup and a $550/month Duke Energy power bill. I was going to buy a 22kVa propane generator but decided to...
