    Premium Upgrades Package (PUP)

You could always go to amazon and search for "angled (usb c, lightning, etc.) cable" and choose one of the options there as well.

    Premium Upgrades Package (PUP)

That's not what they're doing. Non-premium will be black textile. Premium will be black or white.

    Premium Upgrades Package (PUP)

I think it will be either don't get the PUP and get black textile seats, OR, buy the PUP for the $5,000, and have a free choice between either black or white premium seats.

    Premium Upgrades Package (PUP)

There was a conversation on Reddit about this and here is the way I understand that. Right now, you can only buy the 3 with Long Range and the PUP, so premium black seats. Come Fall, you will have three choices, because you can then choose to not get the PUP. The options being: Standard...

Tesla Model 3 vs BMW 3 Series (Electrek)

Isn't the steering wheel only power adjustable, as well as the side mirrors, since they're controlled through the touch screen and wheel buttons? Rear view is auto dimming (side mirrors auto dimming, power folding and heated with the PUP), and you always have the covered storage under the...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

My January 2013 S60's front passenger door handle gave up the ghost on Friday. E-mailed service and set up an appointment already. I was hoping it wouldn't happen as I liked the original handles, but alas, such is life. In all likelihood they'll switch to the new design that doesn't extend...

    Firmware 7.0 Beta Discussion

I think most of us have been pretty accurate with regards to our statements about the power meter. We know it's available via the Energy display, but want it back in the center, as an "always on" display when the car is in drive mode. Also, regarding the AC issue. I agree it looks off, but...

    Firmware 7.0 Beta Discussion

I also agree with the major critiques regarding v7. I have no problem with the current UI. But seeing as they are switching to a flatter look, I'll give my critiques along with possible ways to improve. Put the real-time power back in the center of the display. Perhaps put it as a second...

    Upgrade 60 to 90

There's a post on here somewhere that talks about an owner who bought a 60 and upgraded it to a P85, with the cost of upgrading from a 60 to an 85 battery pack being about $18k (cost of 85 battery - value of 60 battery). They then paid to have the drivetrain replaced with the Performance one...

Ideas for improvements after driving my model S for 2500 miles

I agree with you on most of that. With regards to: 2, you could set an entry/exit profile that both of you switch to when exiting the car to make it easier. Though that would still require you (and wife) to remember to switch to it. What they could do is make the wheel go all the way in and...

A close friend got breast cancer

First let me say that if this doesn't belong here, either pm me or mods feel free to delete it. One of my closest friends recently got diagnosed with breast cancer. She had the lumpectomy which went by smoothly and successfully. They did find traces in her lymph nodes and wanted to do chemo...

Congratulations GG! Sorry we missed each other at the factory. Maybe we can meet up sometime. Tesla Model S P3078 Delivered! I went to the Tesla factory today and took a tour, then took delivery of my new Model S. It came fully charged, ready to go 220 miles. I pulled out of the factory and...

First 60kWH delivery notice or email - who will it be?

Hi everyone. To those asking, yes, I had been thinking I would be picking up my Model S yesterday at 3 pm. I received a call from my DS at 2:15 and she let me know that detailing was not completed, and so I would not be able to pick it up until today at 11 am. I was understanding since I had...

Model S battery can not be replaced with a different size battery

I saw this on Tesla's site also. I do hope that this changes in the future. I would have bought the 40 kWh and been fine for now, and sometime down the road, 8 years or so, was planning on just getting a larger pack to be able to drive longer distances between charges. My reasoning is...

Congratulations to those who have received either their VINs or solid delivery dates. I've received an e-mail from my DS (Mac) but don't have a VIN as yet. My range starts on the 15th, but ends on the 29th, so I'm not going to worry about it until the 19th, which will be the 10 day build date...

Have the 2013 sales tax rates come into effect?

Good question. I'd like to know this as well. I was wondering if signing the MVPA and therefore putting the $5000 reservation as an initial down payment would mark the beginning of the sale date in 2012 and therefore keep the sales tax at that rate rather than raising it up.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Just to help with these issues: Re: Pano roof sticking, there were posts previously about the roof going to vent mode first before opening and it is a known issue that can be fixed with a service visit if I remember correctly. Re: the Energy app, there are two spots that may have an answer...

I forgot to mention I'll be picking it up from the factory as well. Living in Fremont, how can I not take advantage of the chance to see the factory again, this time churning out cars (last time was in October at the Beta Ride Event). Perhaps several of us on here will see each other during...

Admittedly, this is how the Navigation on my Android phone works. If I want to see the traffic on the route I have to use the traffic layer and then it will show the traffic flow. Otherwise, it's just the blue line with a clock that is either green, yellow or red. I say this because it may...

    Winter package

Ed, If you're getting the 19" wheels (I assume you are, but could be wrong) then in a pinch you could just buy the same tires that they list and have your place mount them on the wheels instead of the all-season. I realize that is not ideal, because from what I understand it's not a good thing...

    60KWH roll-in - B5 theory: they won't do it til after Jan1

GG, I had seen that on the Tesla Official site as well. I also got an e-mail stating the same thing. B5, Looks like your theory was right on with 60 kWh starting in 2013! I suppose that means 2013 will be an exciting year for me.

Yeah, I have a bit of a wait to go (60kWh) but it'll be worth it, I figure it'll be here before my 2 year anniversary for my reservation (Feb. 2011) at the latest. Definitely! Though to add to my above, the wait gets a bit tougher as the days go on. Ok, it's good to see you on...
