Had same issue...have tried Continental- got 23K miles, Michelin - got 17K miles,, running Vredestein Quatrac Pro currently 27K miles.-tread at 5 mm currently. I keep pressure at 45 lbs-which requires constant monitoring. Tesla MS is a heavy car-not sure 40K expectation is realistic.

Had a G suffix with one broken tab installed. Putting a small washer on anchored it securely. Was told by local Tesla service they only would install OEMs...i.e. plastic wrap still on etc. Ebay $215.

Suggest checking part number, including suffix letter, on Ebay. You'll probably need to get most recent suffix letter from parts dept at Tesla service.

There has been an ownership change at Carl's since original install. Perhaps Tesla has issues with the new owners.

Assuming wheel is not bent/cracked , you can have road rash repaired. There is a mobile wheel repair service that works out of the back lot at Schumacher European . Cost is around $125. The remaining challenge is can the wheel be balanced. I run my 21's at 44 lbs.
