Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Tried 14°, it accepted the slope. Went to 15° and got the alert. Can’t vouch for accuracy, just the iPhone level on the front centre armrest.

Saw another Highland in CNS the other day. 1100km from the nearest supercharger.

Can confirm. Tested that on my big trip. I took my sunnies off for a bit while freeway cruising in autosteer. Leant down to plug my phone into usb and got a strike 1/5 for autopilot misuse! “Autosteer disabled for the rest of this drive”

CBR-SYD-BNE-ROK-CNS Trip Cost for charging with a mixture of Superchargers then Chargefox north of Rocky, Canberra to Cairns was $89. (!) Equivalent ICE trip at say 7L/100km would’ve been $420. Started with 100%, final was 20%, so add another ~50kWh. I managed to get that last bit free at a...

    Your M3H 'Stalkless' Driving Experience....

I am withholding judgement of the missing indicator stalk until I have a fair bit more time with it. That said, I do think Tesla may have made a slight error with this design. You have to take your eyes off the road in many (not all) cases and we don’t all drive around with our indicator...

Turn indicators will auto-off most of the time when turning or making a lane change.

I’m also finding that not being able to go full screen in the browser is not an easy fix. One solution was to open the YouTube app, sign in to your Google account, click on the blue “manage my account” link. From there you can access the 9 dot menu at the top right of the page, all the Google...

    Your M3H 'Stalkless' Driving Experience....

I’ve done 6100km over 33 days in the 2024 M3H RWD. Shifting on the screen? Easy. Autopilot with a press of the scroll wheel? Easy. Indicating? Still have to take my eyes off the road occasionally to first, position my hand, then make sure my thumb hits the (too small IMO) target and press to...

Hi Aussie TSLA Highland owners, I would like to share what I have experienced with a recent drive from Canberra to Cairns. The distance covered was around 3000km over 3.5 days. For those that have not done much driving in QLD, the Bruce Highway is of varying quality, with very little in the way...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Submitted QLD final rebate forms on Tuesday 29/1. Money in the bank yesterday. So only 2 days! 😲 amazeballs Mind you they needed very precise detail, blood type, DNA, number of teeth, toilet habits etc 😆

The LR seemed very attractive at first, I definitely considered it. The extra range would be nice for longer road trips. AWD etc In the end opted for the RWD as it’s stupidly powerful enough! I could see myself getting into trouble with all that extra grunt, not to mention the temptation of...

So I’ve had my M3 RWD for 3 weeks now. Just went over 3000km. One small stone chip on the bonnet, one nasty chip on the pax windscreen, (repaired). Had to put acceleration back to chill before I get a ticket. 131 Wh/km avg.

Speaking of driving a glass-roof Highland around Australia in summer, does anyone know what the best sunshade for the Model 3 is? Tesla shop not showing anything available yet.

It is a phenomenal car so far. One of the most amazing things is the basic autopilot. On the freeway, you set speed and auto-steer, then just get comfy and watch the world go by. The armrests enable you to just hold the wheel with one relaxed hand to keep the nag at bay. The lack of fatigue I...
