Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think the open question is what and when the voting recommendations from ISS and Glass Lewis will be. Seems like those may not be known until late this month.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Advertising is a little less common but it happens. And, companies often pay for more traditional forms of solicitation like mailings, calls, emails, etc. This is particularly true in harder votes (whether it's contested or not) like compensation decisions, mergers, structural changes, etc...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Default votes are only for "routine" matters. Brokers don't have discretion for non-routine matters like this one. Tesla's proxy statement has several FAQs on this if you really want to get into the weeds.

Thanks @Doggydogworld for correcting my fat finger mistake. While Powerwall likely explains part of the difference, Megapack ramp is likely the bulk of it, @Zaddy Daddy. Just the ramping will add a few more GWhs over the course of the year to get to 25-ish. (Plus, we really don't know their...

Not sure this is technically right. Quorum includes broker non-votes (i.e., shares held through brokers for which the broker doesn't have voting discretion). So if a retail shareholder doesn't vote, the shares are still counted for quorum purposes and effectively are "no" votes. In addition...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It seems like Tesla should easily hit 75+% growth in GWh deployed in 2024. In 2023, they only deployed 11.7 GWh. If they began the year with 20 GWh annual capacity, then simply deploying 20 GWh will get them 70.6% growth. Even ramping slowly from 20-40 should make up the difference even...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Leaving aside the stigma of an oil-giant buyer like BP, does anyone have any reasoned thoughts on what the current price of the Supercharger business line should be? By "price," I truly mean price and not value. We're all familiar with the intangible benefits of the Supercharger network and...

Friendly reminder to those who see charts on Twitter... If the trailing period is non-standard (or not showing you any comparative lines), the chart-author might have an agenda. (In this case, the chart-author is really describing electricity prices increases that occurred at the end of 2022...

This is helpful. I was using other sources. Shows why I shouldn't dip into counting!

Agreed. It seems like Tesla's tweet may have been a warning shot of sorts on P&D estimates. Other analysts seem to be homing in on 425k deliveries. While it's possible Tesla is ending the quarter with 25-40k vehicles in inventory or transit (assuming no change in Q4/Q1-end inventory)...

Probably modestly above given Cybertruck and Model 3 ramps. (Plus probably excess lost days of production this quarter in Berlin due to power and China due to holidays). More importantly, we now know Q1 production will be modestly in excess of 450,000. Approx 5.546 million cars produced...

And a weird quirk. If you're in a state with sales tax, paying for FSD upfront will incur sales tax -- which you'll then have to finance. The $200/month doesn't have sales tax.

I did the exact same thing - trade-in estimate in February. My experience is identical (except, I think I've had 5 different contacts including a couple phone calls). New wrinkle, today they offered me 5000 free miles of Supercharging in addition to FSD transfer. I've never been so...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Anecdote: I've received 4 different texts and 2 different phone calls this quarter to upgrade my Model S or Model X. The Model X is 8 weeks old. The Model S is 30 months old. Never personally experienced this much of a sales push from Tesla since I first ordered 12 years ago. (And, as...
