Mine is plugged in behind the mirror and left on 24/7. Never had any issues with power drain. If I am out of town for an extended period, I'll probably turn off the wifi, but that's about it.

I'm biased, but definitely go with the grey wheels. I think they look much better than the silver 21's. If you're fixed on the black exterior, that's a good choice. However, here's a pic of my blue/tan to try and sway you my way... :) You'll be thrilled regardless.

Blue on an overcast day in San Francisco

Here's my blue performance. It's amazing how it can look black in some light conditions. This was an overcast day and you can barely tell it's blue. On a sunny day there's no mistaking it for black, as the blue really pops.
