Service replaced my leather seat with a vegan seat

My 2015 has had the seat base and seat back replaced. They look and feel the same as the original leather to me.

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

I own a 2015 Model s, and recently rented a 2023 Model 3. The 2015 Autopilot is better in most respects than the 2023 one. Much less phantom braking for example, and not slowing down for cars that are 50 m+ ahead of me (at city speeds).

...and will also brake at random moments when it doesn't need to.

Issue with water getting trapped in door

It will damage the electrics. I need a wiring harness replaced in my Model S due to "corrosion caused by water ingress".

    Evanex postage charges!

The postage charges from Abstract Ocean are quite reasonable, but they have only a limited range of items. I bought a keyfob pocket from them. The fob pocket cost USD 11 and postage was USD 4. This was in 2017. I can also recommend their extra-bright LED interior lights.

Autopilot 1 - Reads and Adjusts Automatically

I have AP1 and 32.4, but this doesn't work for me. Whether I have autosteer on or off, the speed stays at the setpoint, regardless of decreases in the speed limit. Is there some control I need to set?

    Why Tesla Will Fail

Hi Jayson, I have to disagree with you. Tesla's communication is poor. They promise contact and don't deliver. I was promised a call "the next day" and still didn't get a call until I reminded them three times in a week. Cheers, Mark

    Mounting Slim License Plates

When I collected my Tesla from AutoNexus in Perth a year ago, I had to fit my own personalised plates. Autonexus used double-sided tape on the plates, so it was easy enough to remove them and fit the new ones with double-sided tape from Bunnings. Even though the plate was made of relatively...

Auto-pilot uses more battery than a real driver driving efficiently?

Of course you will use more energy by accelerating more quickly, but after 8 seconds you will have travelled further, so the effect on Wh/km is not as dramatic.

BBC radio not working via Tunein

For about a week (perhaps since the recent 7.1 update in Australia), I have been unable to listen to BBC radio streams via Tunein. I can get all the other stations, but the only BBC stations I get are foreign language, like BBC Urdu or BBC Arabic. I can't get BBC World Service, or any of the...

    7.1 in Australia

I have a 70D and I also got a second update last night. It cured the problem with logging on to Spotify. I didn't notice if my car "changed" to a 60 between the two updates. I haven't charged the car since the Monday update.

    7.1 in Australia

Agreed. It is more "twitchy" than before, I find. Instead of smoothing out kinks in the lane markings, it follows them slavishly. I have a "traffic calming" chicane that I pass every day. Before, the car could handle the first turn, but not the second. Now it doesn't even handle the first. It...

    7.1 in Australia

In WA, the law is that only screens used as "driving aids" are permitted to be visible to the driver. This allows GPS and (more broadly) the dispatch systems in taxis. The utility where I worked also got an exemption for the system it used to notify technicians of faults and maintenance jobs...

The Law in this area is NOT an Ass In that case, it's the person doing the velcroing who's an ass, not the law. I have worked in this area (managing a roll-out of laptops in service vehicles), and the authorities are quite happy for a Web browser to be installed as long as there is an...

Cruise Control Upgrade - Remembers Settings? I've just driven to work with the new update. Perpendicular park worked well in the rather tight car park here. The cruise control now seems to remember settings. I'm not sure if it is remembering settings I have used before, or whether it's based...
