Front Passenger Safety Restraint System Fault

I started getting this alert as well. I scheduled a service for it and they've quoted me $1154 to fix it! ****ing bonkers to make owners pay for defunct safety systems with obvious issues. Did you receive any traction after submitting NHTSA claim? I have a repair appointment for next Monday.

Okay to buy Powerwall 2 from an estate sale?

Yeah your final paragraph sums up my concerns. I'm still going to call a couple installers tomorrow to see if I can get even a ballpark quote over the phone.

Okay to buy Powerwall 2 from an estate sale?

Soooo I actually installed my entire solar setup. I could honestly probably do the install for the PW2, but finding specific documentation or YouTube walkthroughs has been challenging. I’m unsure about warranty transfer. I doubt if I attempted to do the work myself that they’d allow for the...

Okay to buy Powerwall 2 from an estate sale?

Hello TMC Energy folks, I have an opportunity to buy a Powerwall 2 from an estate sale in SoCal. I'm trying to gather as much info as I possibly can before deciding what to do. The cost of the Powerwall will only be ~$1,000, but I'm gonna have to find an installer to do some work...this is my...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Interesting. Definitely not something I'll likely pursue right now then. It doesn't make sense to feed the PWs off solar generation during the day that is making me $0.53 per kWh, only to use that stored energy at night when I only pay $0.12 per kWh when I charge my Model 3.

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

The Tesla route may be more interesting then. The SGIP is kind of the hang up for me. I think it'd actually be better long term to just steal from the grid at night when it costs $0.12/kW and then use it during my peak/off peak times when it is $0.53 (summer) or $0.33 (winter). I'm on a Time of...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Thanks for the input everyone. I guess more than anything I was checking to see if I could get a reasonable price on the backup system after all the rebates and tax incentives (like 2x PWs for $10k or something). It is definitely cool tech and I'd love to support Tesla more, but you all make a...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Thank you, this is a very comprehensive post, and exactly what I was looking for. :) For me, outages aren't a big concern. I've lived in my home for nearly a decade, and I think I can remember one time? a planned outage occurred where they upgraded some nearby powerline/etc equipment. I think...

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

So I'm incredibly late to this party, but I just got my Model 3 and have a 7.5 kWh system installed on my roof. I'm interested in PowerWall, but they're so damn expensive for very little financial benefit without incentives (15+ year ROI). Are there still beneficial incentives available for...

Southern California (Orange County) Tesla Model 3 Tint/PPF Group Buy

I asked about the water when they did my tint. They are very aware of the concern and potential problem and put a lot of absorbing towels/etc in and around the electronics to protect them. It has been 6 weeks since I got my tint done (including 70% on front windshield) and I've had no issues.

Southern California (Orange County) Tesla Model 3 Tint/PPF Group Buy

I wear polarized glasses and got the 3M Crystalline done at Rodz (70% on the front). It does have an effect, but it isn't bad. Basically dark colored cars (mostly black, some dark blue) appear a slight purple-ish tint instead of black at some angles as you approach them. It was a little weird at...

Anxiously waiting an AWD review / videos

I was willing to pay the $4k for the extra performance, the increased handling, and the potential that efficiency would be higher on 3D like it was for Model S D owners, but alas, that third part didn't come to fruition. I also like the increased handling in the rain snow when I go to Big...

Anxiously waiting an AWD review / videos

I don't regret saving $11,000 at all. I'm completely happy with the performance of my AWD non-P. :D I think folks that would buy a Performance version of the car are more oriented towards things like Dragy/VBox, etc. Not being "part of that world" it isn't something I have myself. And my kids...

Anxiously waiting an AWD review / videos

I’m not sure what you want? The AWD is observably the same car as the RWD minus better handling and acceleration. All the aesthetics, interior and exterior appear exactly the same. I described earlier the handling, strength of regen, and acceleration in comparison to a RWD and even posted a...

Anxiously waiting an AWD review / videos

Yeah, I love the wheels underneath. It’s a tempting idea but I don’t really want to store the caps somewhere and have to put them on and off regularly. Too lazy I guess.
