It looks from the Tesla website pictures like the current blue exterior may be a brighter shade. Anyone know if that's the case? I'm scheduled for delivery of a blue S85 at the end of December.
While the swatch color looks brighter the photos in design studio look the same to me. I sure would love a bright blue. I have pearl white on order now.
I picked up my blue MS on 9/30/14. Lighting makes a big difference of how "blue" it looks. Also, when I am wearing sunglasses it looks much darker, almost black. I think it is the same blue as always, just variables in light make it different.
It's a good question - we own a blue from 2012 and when on a factory tour last week it sure looked lighter to me, even with my hazy brain adjusting for perceived lighting.
I actually walked by two MS's at an event. One was brand new and the other was from 2013, both in blue. There is a significant difference between the two shades. The newer blue looks like a deeper color and the paint quality is way better.
The factory blue does change significantly with the ambient light. More blue in bright sunlight and darker, even close to black in dim light and at night. Wearing sunglasses also make it look much darker. Here is my P85+ delivered 9/30/14.
17 coats? No wonder they cost so much more. I've got to get the red one. I was debating with the blue and red . . . I think the red screams "I'm different" . . . and the Tesla is . . in so many ways.
