Exterior color

I am getting ready to order my 3rd Tesla. I am debating on exterior colors and have hit a wall. I would like anyone's opinion on what color is your favorite and why?....I am debating between black and gray. My decision is also for resale value as well. I had heard that black was the most popular choice?

I know that black shows everything but my last two cars where gray so I am over it.

What do you think?

I like Red for P85s. I think that car deserves a flashy color and the Tesla MC red is actually pretty and not too orangey undertoned.

I personally have black, which I had Opti-coated so my husband would have an easier time maintaining the car. Blue is nice as well although it might as well be black unless it's in direct sunlight. If I were to buy another Tesla today, I would probably still get black. Funny enough, my husband and I were just having this exact conversation a minute before I saw your thread.

You would think it would be an easy choice, but when you are ordering it there's no going back!..thanks for your input.

And I like the MC Red as well I just couldn't do it on a daily basis.

When you're behind the wheel you hardly see the red. What do you intend to do: stand in the garage and look at it, or drive the bejeezus out of it?

Black, I swore I would never go with black again. Gets dirty just looking at it.
Grey, very understated. Blends in too much.
Blue, very nice in the sunlight but to much like black---dirt magnet.
Silver, I just never liked silver so that's out
White, sharp and stays clean but every car manufacture makes the same white color
Red, Tesla Red what can I say. Sharp, eye catcher, really stands out.

My choice would be Red.

Since I was set on trading my P85+ for the P85D, I was intent upon using the opportunity to get a new color combo. I LABORED for weeks past my confirmation date, to the point of frustration for my DS. I narrowed it down to pearl white and MC Red and must have stared at 30 cars in a few weeks, trying to picture myself with each color. Ultimately, I settled back on my current color -- blue/tan with 21inch greys because I absolutely love the combo. I felt like was looking at new colors to make the car feel as 'new' as possible but perhaps compromising the aesthetic I was looking for. In the end, I realized that I admire both pearl white and mc red tesla's on the road, but I feel best walking up to a blue one every day. So that's what I'm getting :)

I'll admit that I'm still second guessing myself. High class problems, I guess.

Good luck!

In my opinion, nothing is as eye catching as the MC Red. It has a "wow!" factor that the other colors do not. The other colors are wonderful in a different, more subtle, refined, and elegant way, whereas the red is a bit "in your face." If you enjoy that sort of thing, the red brings it.

FWIW- picked up our black S85 last Saturday in Fremont.

Of ~9 cars under the delivery tent that morning for pickup, there was one std white, one dk blue, one green and six blacks.

A delivery specialist also commented that black was one of the most popular color selections.

They state that black is the most common in the luxury segment.

Of course, how much of this is what customers want, vs what manufacturers provide?

I really don't get this. I don't like, black, white, or grey. To each their own, but they seem so dead-flat boring. I bought red, for lack of any other actual colour. I would have been really happy with a brighter blue or green.
