@plisken any update on the issue after they replaced the steering rack again? I am getting a similar fault here in Canada, and service centre wants to replace steering rack and front cable harness. I was not convinced and they said they were not sure it would completely solve the problem. Was too expensive to try out so I am holding off for now. Your story of the work being done and the fault coming back is terrifying. My car is out of warranty, so I dont want to spend $5,000CAD for the error to come back later.

I believe they sold it the following month and left Tesla far behind so unfortunately your chances of getting an update on this, are slim.
