I've also been seeing a lot more Highland 3's driving around where I live. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Tesla has more lines dedicated to producing the Y than the 3, meaning once they re-tool the lines for Juniper they should be able to get them out faster than they did for Highland.

The main difference this time though is that we can get a good idea of what Juniper will bring if we look at Highland. We had no idea what a 4680 Y would bring and it was all speculation until release.

Except Juniper is happening. Tesla wouldn't update the Model 3 and not bring those changes to the Y, especially with the R2 arriving in 2026.

The longer you wait, the closer we get to Juniper. There has already been a protentional leak of the center console for Juniper so we may not be too far away from the refresh.

It’s not protective film. This could either be a newer version of the center console for Highland or it really could be the console for Juniper.

I have this tweet saved that summarizes the updates for highland. We should receive the same amount of updates, and maybe more, for Juniper

True, there have been incremental changes, but if a major rehaul is potentially less than 12 months away and you don't need a vehicle right now then it makes sense to wait.

If someone doesn't need a vehicle right now and plans to keep their next vehicle for a long time, why not wait for the most recently updated model before purchasing? It's not like Tesla refreshes the Model Y every year.

This would make sense if they were creating a new version of the Y from the ground up, but this is going to be a refresh. They'll be using existing parts from the already refreshed 3 for Juniper.

For all the reasons listed in the tweet below. We can expect the same updates plus more for Juniper.

If we take a look at the pricing for Highland, we should see something similar for Juniper. Plus, Juniper is supposed to be more cost effective to product for Tesla. Pricing shouldn't change much if at all. As for people holding out, I'm sure there's a good amount of them considering the Q1...
